Makeup Monday - CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion

April 28, 2014

Welcome to Makeup Monday on Julie's Lifestyle.  Each Monday I will post about a certain type of makeup, nail polish, face or hair product etc.  It will be a fun place to come visit about anything to do with beauty.

Week 16 - CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion

Hello Ladies, we are back here again for Makeup Monday and I'm already on Week 16!  I'm going to talk about moisturizers today.  For years I have been using from Clinique the moisturizer Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.  This is what it looks like:

You may all be familiar with this moisturizing lotion.  This lotion is about $26 dollars for a 4.2 fl. oz. bottle.

I changed creams to CeraVe about a year ago and I love it!

The reason why I changed to CeraVe is because a year ago I was in my dermatologist's office and they had samples of it and I took it home to try.  I love this lotion because it glides on easy and it has no perfume smell to it.  It is dermatologist recommended and to read more about this amazing lotion you can click HERE.  The cost of the CeraVe is about $12.99 for a 12 fl. oz. bottle.  You get more for your money and it last longer too.  There is no fancy bottle but I like that this also has a pump to easily apply the lotion.  You can find CeraVe in Duane Reade, CVS, and Rite Aid stores.

Please try this out and let me know what you think and if you liked it.  You will not be disappointed.

I would like to introduce you to two people that love makeup, beauty, and style.

1)  Kat from Confessions of the Perfect Mom.  I was introduced to her by Laura who blogs at Over the Apple Tree.  Kat has a beauty and fashion blog party every Monday called Monday Morning Makeup Madness if any of you are interested in joining.

2)  Deborah from The Beautiful Matters has a review on the book Toss the Gloss by Andrew Q. Robinson.  She also likes to blog about beauty and style and everything beautiful.

If you get a chance please take a look at their lovely blogs.

Thanks so much for stopping by this week and see you next week for Makeup Monday.  If you missed any you can find them HERE.

  1. I think lotion is so important and there are probably several that would work well. I would like to try this. I use Curel fragrance free and go over my face AND neck every night. Then when I get in bed, I rub some on my feet. I think it really makes a difference. Thanks for the links. I just 'found' Beautiful Matters and I absolutely LOVE her blog! I'll go visit the other one now! Thanks so much! I have my new nail polish on today....even on my toes! I'm WAY more beautiful now! Sweet hugs, Diane

  3. A less expensive but still effective beauty product is so helpful! I've been using Mary Kay moisturizer on my face for years, and I usually use Bath and Body Works lotion for the rest. I like the pump on the CeraVe. Thanks for the tip :-)

  6. Thank you, Julie, for mentioning my blog, so kind of you! I am thinking of doing some kind of series on makeup/skincare for over 50, and . . . maybe documenting my journey of going from bottle blonde to natural (I'm still scared of this!!).
I am such a sucker for pretty packaging, sometimes I will put something in a plain brown bottle with a pretty label on it if I don't think the packaging is pretty. there is probably not much difference between the $26 Cream and the $12 cream except for the name and packaging. I will give the CeraVe a try. Thanks again, Julie!

  7. You always have such good information to share about your beauty products. I haven't tried this brand but I am sure it must be good if it is dermatologist recommended...:) I hope you had a lovely weekend and are having a good week so far as well...:)

    Blessings, Vicky

  11. Julie - thanks for the recommendation on the CeraVe lotion. I'm always looking for something without a heavy fragrance because the smells give me migraines. Have a great day!

  12. I have samples from the doc too, Julie, I have yet to try though. You have just prompted me to go dig them out! I am a fragrance free lover and it isn't always easy to find!

  14. Thank you, Julie, for another great recommendation. I use the Clinique when I get a free sample, but I'd love to try the CeraVe, and it's a great price. I've been using Boots No. 7 day cream and I do like it.

  19. Hey Julie! I used Cerave AM and PM moisturiser for the years my dermatitis around my eyes was at its worst- the PM moisturiser was very soothing! I had to buy online, as the brand isn't sold in Aus. Great review and Happy Monday!!!
