Hey blog friends!
I can't believe we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving next week. I thought I'd share some recipes that are perfect for this holiday.
I made back in 2020 Sausage Cornbread Stuffing for Thanksgiving. It was a big hit with my family and everyone liked it. It's easy to make and a different take on basic stuffing using cornbread, corn, and cheese.
I also like to make this sausage stuffing if I'm hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house.
I made back in 2019 Corn Pudding Muffins that were a big hit at our Thanksgiving dinner. I remember seeing this recipe for corn pudding at Kitty's blog here.
I hosted last year nine people for Thanksgiving dinner. I decided to make it easy on myself and made a turkey breast instead of a whole turkey. I bought the turkey at Wegmans and it came out moist and delicious tasting. I will be making roast turkey this way from now on whenever I have to host Thanksgiving.
I hope I've given you some ideas for your Thanksgiving gathering.
Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Friday and welcome to Friday Favorites November 2022.
I'm happy to say that Halloween was a success this year. We had a lot more trick-or-treaters than last year. Bosco was alert and sat at the front door greeting the kids that came by.
We've been watching a lot of shows lately.
We just finished watching House of the Dragon saga and it's the prequel to Game of Thrones.
If you like psychological thrillers then you'll like The Patient.
The Watcher is a mystery thriller based on a true story of a couple who buy a new house in New Jersey. You'll want to lock all your doors at night after watching this series.
We watched the first series of The White Lotus and liked it. We just started watching season 2 which takes place in Italy.
We are watching season one of The Great. It's a comedy and historical fiction series about Catherine the Great.
We are enjoying the series Shantaram. It's about a heroin addict who escapes from prison and arrives in India with a fake passport. You will find out about his life in Bombay during the 1980s.
We are looking forward to watching From Scratch. It's about the romance between an artist and a chef in Italy.
I was in the city last week and walked past the beautiful holiday window displays of the ABC Carpet & Home store.
We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary last week by going out to dinner at the Italian restaurant Vallata. This restaurant is inspired by the home-cooked meals made by Tom Colicchio. Vallata is Tom Colicchio's first-ever Italian restaurant. The food and service were outstanding. We were also greeted with a glass of champagne and it said on our menu "Happy Anniversary" and we had a complimentary dish of vanilla gelato for dessert. We both had cocktails and we shared our appetizers of chickpea seafood salad and short rib cavatelli. I had for our main dish cod fish with potatoes and beans and my husband enjoyed a braised pork dish. Thanks to my daughter for recommending this restaurant to us. I highly recommend eating at this restaurant if you are in the Union Square area of Manhattan.
Happy Veterans Day!
I hope you have a happy Friday and weekend.

Hello friends. I recently attended a baby shower. I wanted to make a crocheted amigurumi toy for the mom to be.
I wanted to make something that looked cute and would be easy for me to crochet.
I thought this crochet unicorn would make a great addition to the other gifts that I was giving the mom to be.
CROCHET UNICORN:
I found this crochet kit on Amazon. The kit included the crochet pattern, the yarn, crochet hook, and fiber fill. The kit cost $17.98 and arrived in a day. You can also purchase this kit at Darn Good Yarn.
Darn Good Yarn - DIY Crochet Amigurumi - Crochet Kit Include Pattern, Yarn, Crochet Hook, Stuffing and Knitting Needles (Unicorn)
My Thoughts on this Kit:
I found the crochet pattern instructions somewhat easy to follow. The instructions did not explain how to attach each part such as the ears, horn, feet, eyes, mane, and tail. This is not a kit for a beginner crocheter. There was a small plastic crochet hook and fiber fill included in the kit. The yarn that was provided was exactly what you needed to make the unicorn. There wasn't any extra yarn provided. I was happy to have enough yarn to make this unicorn toy. I used my own small plastic eyes for the toy. I purchased a small box of plastic eyes from Amazon.
Crochet Unicorn! This crochet unicorn was a big hit at the baby shower! I hope I've given you an idea to crochet a unicorn for your next baby shower. This would also make a cute Christmas gift. |

I love finding new people to follow on blogs and Instagram. I just started following Macy Blackwell's Instagram account @macy.blackwell. She recently shared a recipe for pumpkin bread. She said that this is her mom's recipe and that she has been making it for her family for the past ten years. I knew I wanted to make this pumpkin bread after she shared it on Instagram.
I made this pumpkin bread for our family and we enjoyed it. This recipe would be good to use for baking cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. It's a good dessert idea for Thanksgiving.
PUMPKIN BREAD
The recipe can be found on Instagram at @macy.blackwell
NOTE:
You can make adjustments to this recipe. The next time I make this I will use less sugar. I also baked the bread for 60 minutes.
