Hey blog friends, I made another Costco run last week. If you've been here a while then you know I like to shop at Costco at least one to two times a month. I found a lot of great buys at the beginning of April. The Lucky Brand t-shirts are still at Costco and for eight dollars this is a great deal.
This time we needed a lot of produce items such as lettuce, peppers, pickles, fruit, and other food items. I'd love to share with you the non-food items I picked up on my latest shopping trip.
My husband noticed these Sketchers Delson Shoes for only $24.99. Luckily they had my husband's shoe size and this is a great deal. They are lightweight shoes that will look great with his dress pants.
I needed new face cream and I usually use Neutrogena hydro boost face cream but they didn't have any available. I decided to give this Olay Regenerist cream a try as it was only $39.99 for two jars. I like the way this cream works to make my skin feel soft and moisturized.
I love Costco's activewear. I picked up this Fila sweatshirt in the crystal blue color and it was on sale for $11.99. What a great deal and there are pockets on this sweatshirt.
I picked up these ribbed leggings with pockets on the side for only $14.99 and this is another great deal.
We love using this protein powder in our morning shakes.
My daughter will be home from college soon and said she would like an air-fryer. I saw this air-fryer for only $39.99. I didn't pick it up as we have a friend who is moving and asked us if we would like her air-fryer. It's an older model but we figured we would give hers a try. Do you have an air fryer and do you like it?
Have you bought anything from Costco lately?

Hello friends. I'd love to share with you this market bag I made.
I love the look of crocheted market bags. These types of bags are perfect for grocery shopping, or use at the beach.
These crocheted market bags are popular in the boutiques in my neighborhood. Market bags are costly and I knew I could crochet a bag for half the price I saw in the boutique.
It just required a few hours of crocheting the bag. I crocheted a little bit each day and a few days later I had a finished bag.
I used the market bag pattern from Sara at Posh Pooch Designs. There is an easy free crochet tutorial and video on her website to make this bag.
Below you can see the market bag I made and the details to make your own.
CROCHET MARKET BAG
CROCHET DETAILS:
YARN: Lily Sugar 'n Cream - Sage Green
CROCHET HOOK: I/5.50 MM
I used about 3 skeins of yarn for this project
This cotton yarn can be found at Michaels, Walmart, and Amazon and it comes in many colors.

I hope you make one of these cute market bags for the beach or shopping.

I recently visited the Macy's Flower Show. It's held every year at Macy's 34th street store located in New York City. The flower show is held for two weeks every year usually in May. This year the show was from March 27th to April 10th. Each year I love to see how they decorate the store with colorful spring flowers and plants. You can click here to see last year's flower show.
You can see the outside windows decorated with exotic flowers and plants. I'm always inspired by the huge collection of spring flowers.
The store was decorated with the colors orange and purple and vibrant spring flowers.
You could look up and see gorgeous colorful floral displays.
I love this red floral star.
This floral arrangement below reminds me of a Macy's shopping bag.
Even though the store was crowded I was able to get a lot of photos of the amazing floral displays.
I love this floral arrangement of tulips and hydrangeas.
Yellow and purple flowers.
I love the flowers on each of these shelves.
I love this exotic floral arrangement located on the second floor of the store.
A highlight for me is the girls and their colorful dresses.
An assortment of perfumes on display.
I enjoyed visiting the Macy's Flower Show this year. I look forward to visiting the show again in the spring of 2023.
Have you ever visited the Macy's Flower Show?
Happy Tuesday. I am joining Jana Says and Life According to Steph for their monthly book club. Everyone shares the books they have read for the month.
I finally decided to renew my library card. I had no idea that a library card expires every three years. It felt good to visit our local library again. I can even download free books onto my kindle app. I even convinced my husband to renew his library card.
While I was at the library, I decided to take out the book Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan.
Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan
My daughter read this book and recommended it to me. I've read all of the Crazy Rich Asian books by this author and loved them.
Book Description:
When Lucie Tang Churchill meets George Zao at a lavish wedding in Capri, she can't stand him. She can't stand that he gallantly offers to trade hotel rooms with her so she can have a sea view, that he knows more about the island than she does, and worst of all, that he kisses her in the darkness of the ancient ruins. What would her Mayflower-descended, Wall Street-wealthy family think of him? But years later, when Lucie is weekending with her fiancé in East Hampton, George unexpectedly appears and Lucie must decide - does she follow her head or her heart?
My Thoughts On This Book:
This story pays homage to the book Room With a View by E. M. Forster. This is an updated version and romance between the two main characters that attend an over-the-top wedding in Capri, Italy. I enjoyed reading Kevin Kwan's descriptions of the character's ultra-rich homes, parties, restaurants, and gorgeous designer clothes. I found the footnotes of where the characters attended school and college entertaining to read. I found myself laughing at different parts of the book and I liked being transported to Italy, Manhattan, and the Hamptons. I'm looking forward to reading more of Kevin Kwan's books in the future.
The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles
Book Description:
In June, 1954, eighteen-year-old Emmett Watson is driven home to Nebraska by the warden of the juvenile work farm where he has just served fifteen months for involuntary manslaughter. His mother long gone, his father recently deceased, and the family farm foreclosed upon by the bank, Emmett's intention is to pick up his eight-year-old brother, Billy, and head to California where they can start their lives anew. But when the warden drives away, Emmett discovers that two friends from the work farm have hidden themselves in the trunk of the warden's car. Together, they have hatched an altogether different plan for Emmett's future, one that will take them all on a fateful journey in the opposite direction—to the City of New York.
My Thoughts On This Book:
I stopped reading this book temporarily to read the book Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan.
This book was highly recommended to me by my husband. I'm still reading this book and I'll keep you updated about it next month.
Have you've read any of these books? What book are you reading now?

Hey friends, we made another Costco run last weekend. I'd love to share with you my finds.
We had to go to Costco last Saturday due to our schedules. I like going to Costco during the week and first thing in the morning because the store is not as busy and everything is organized and neat. What I don't like is emptying the car and putting everything away. LOL. 😂
I saw this Lucky Brand ladies graphic tee that looked cute as was only $7.99. I thought the price was great and be careful as this t-shirt runs small. I usually wear a size Medium but grabbed the XL and it fits me great. I don't like tight-fitting t-shirts. I will be tying a knot on the side or front of the shirt for spring and summer wear. I love anything camouflage.
My husband picked up these Adidas sneakers for only $29.99 and they look great on him. If you order the sneakers online, they are $34.99.
We needed new colored ink for our printer.
I love using this avocado oil spray when I'm cooking meals. I picked up two of these.
We like these Indian Madras Lentils and 8 packets come in a box. We usually eat these as a side with our meals. They taste like baked beans but not as sweet tasting. You heat the packet in the microwave for only one minute.
We like these Cauliflower rice packets. They are a great low-carb rice substitute and heat up in the microwave for one minute.
We like eating salmon and I like that they come frozen and individually sealed. I will usually defrost the salmon the night before we have dinner.
We usually get the Beyond Burgers at Costco. We decided on trying the Impossible Burger patties instead this time. These are kept in the freezer and can be made within minutes in the frying pan. It's a great alternative if you don't want to eat real meat.
We like these Polish sausages that are 100% grass-fed beef. I usually make sheet pan sausage & peppers with this sausage.
We like these grain-free tortilla chips with hummus or salsa.
We enjoyed these seasoned St. Louis ribs for dinner. They even included BBQ sauce with the ribs. We only added a tiny bit of the BBQ sauce on top of our ribs. It was so easy to heat the ribs in the microwave. We were able to have this for two meals as a lot of ribs came in this package.
On my last Costco run Linda from Life and Linda suggested that I try the boneless beef short ribs. I bought them and we LOVED these beef short ribs. I made my Crockpot Beef Short Ribs recipe again and I loved them off the bone. Thanks, Linda for this suggestion.
What I returned to Costco:
I thought this Kitchen Aid dish-drying rack looked good but it was too small for my counter. It is only $29.99 which I thought was a great deal.
I thought this top looked cute and I bought it in a size Medium. It's a nice top but it was huge fitting on me. I would have to wear a size Small for it to fit me.
One of the things I like about Costco is that you can return items with no problem. There are no questions asked as long as you have your receipt and your Costco card with you.
Have you bought anything from Costco lately?
