Hello friends, come let's take a walk today. I went for a walk awhile back in my neighborhood when all of the spring flowers were in bloom. Here are a few flowers that I thought looked pretty. I love daffodils and colors of spring and summer flowers.
If you walk further along with me you can see the water which is called the Hudson River.
Look straight ahead you may be able to see to the left of this tree in front of you the Statue of Liberty and some of the Manhattan skyline. As you can see there are people that run, walk, and ride their bikes on this promenade.
Bosco came along for the walk with me and just decided to stand there and soak up the sun.
Here you can see the Statue of Liberty a little better with the water and skyline.

I think we all need to take a lesson from Bosco and just slow down and relax for a few minutes each day. I hope you all enjoyed that walk with me and wishing you a wonderful weekend.
See you all back here on Monday for my Makeup Monday Series.

Hi Friends, I hope you all had a nice long weekend. I had been working on this crocheted blanket for a while and I'm almost finished making it. I just need to add a border around the blanket. I was inspired to make this blanket from a blogging friend Darlene at Let it Shine and to see her blog, blanket, and pattern, you can click HERE.
What I liked about crocheting this blanket is that it was pretty easy and I changed my blanket a little from Darlene's blanket.
What I liked about crocheting this blanket is that it was pretty easy and I changed my blanket a little from Darlene's blanket.
Here is the yarn I used to crochet the blanket:
Caron Royalty 530
Caron Sky Blue 508
I skein of Red Heart Yarn - I lost the label but I think it is Country Blue #ID 0382
Crochet Hook - Size I-9 US
This is what I did to make my blanket:
- 8 rows for each granny square
- 3 granny squares across
- 4 granny squares down
12 granny squares all together
The dimensions of the blanket are 32'' wide by 42'' length.
Once all the granny squares were made I laid them out the way I wanted them to look. I then single crocheted all the granny squares together. The granny squares are each a solid blue color yarn. To see the tutorial I used for assembling all the squares you can find it HERE from Sarah at Repeat Crafter Me. Darlene had single crocheted around each square but I did not do that when I made my squares. For making the border I will single crochet all around the blanket. When I have the border finished I will take a photo of the finished blanket to show you.
I hope I have inspired you to create a granny square blanket too. This blanket I made is being donated to the crochet group that I belong to at my church for the Christmas Fair in the fall.

I recently joined my friend Stephanie at her blog The Enchanting Rose for a tea mug exchange. I really had fun picking out the tea mug and other goodies for the person I was assigned to send my package to.
Here is what arrived in the mail for me from the mug exchange.
A very pretty tea mug which matches my kitchen just perfect and Organic Black Chai tea leaves.
This is what the inside of the box looked like when I opened it up.
Packed inside the box was tea, a tea mug and yarn.
This pretty shade of dark purple Alpaca yarn was included in the package and I will love creating something new with this yarn.
I really love this light green box with the pretty flowers on it that the tea mug came in.
I also received a pretty card with a note for me.
What I love about this tea mug is that it is microwave safe and dishwasher safe.

My gifts arrived from Melinda who has a lovely blog called Melinda Blogs. Thank you Melinda so much for the beautiful tea mug, organic black chai tea leaves and the yarn. I love how you even took the time and stopped by my blog to see that I enjoy knitting and included yarn in the package. I will love drinking tea and coffee in my new mug and knitting with the pretty yarn.
To see the rest of the tea cup exchange, please stop by to visit Stephanie at The Enchanting Rose. Thank you Stephanie for hosting this fun tea mug exchange and to my new blog friend Sandra at Ravenhill Cottage who I sent my package to.
Thanks again Melinda for such a lovely package and I have already started using the tea/coffee mug and love it. One afternoon soon I will make my new tea and decide on a new project for my yarn.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Hi Friends! I'm a little disappointed because my favorite crochet magazine called Crochet Today is no longer being published! I loved this magazine and they had such pretty crochet patterns to offer each month. Instead they gave me a new magazine to try out for the remainder of my subscription.
The new magazine is called Mollie Makes. Mollie Makes is a UK magazine but they are now making a US Edition. Even though I'm a little upset and disappointed I have looked through this magazine and they do have all sorts of crafts to offer and a little bit of crochet.

I did enjoy looking through this magazine and I even recognized one of the contributors Kim Layton from her blog Everything Etsy and to see her lovely blog you can click here.
I guess everything changes for a reason and I know there are plenty of crochet patterns available online but it was just fun to look through a magazine that I enjoyed. I am over it and guess I'll have to find a new crochet magazine to totally love!
Has this ever happened to you where you love something and then they discontinue it or change it completely?
Wishing you all a nice weekend and see you all here next week for Makeup Monday.
Thanks everyone and Enjoy!

Welcome to Makeup Monday on Julie's Lifestyle. Each Monday I will post about a certain type of makeup, nail polish, face or hair product etc. It will be a fun place to come visit about anything to do with beauty.
1. Ultra Color Lip Crayon - Mauve Model
This has a shimmery high shine color and it's a lip color and a liner in one. I love this and it's just as good as the one I like from Revlon Lip Balm Stain and to see that post you can click HERE.
2. Nail Experts Color Shield Top Coat / Speed Dry + Nail Enamel - Grey Flash
I did my own manicure on Friday evening and I liked the top coat and it work well. The grey nail polish dried fast and my manicure only has one chip on the my thumb. Grey nail polish is very in right now and I like the way it looks.
3. Glimmersticks Lip Liner - Perfect Plum - I love this lip liner and the color is perfect for me. I have used this for the past 4 years. This lip liner matches perfect with the lip crayon too.
Glimmerstick Eye Liner - Cosmic Brown - I really love this eye liner and it stays on and does not smudge. I have been using this too for the past 4 years.
4. Ideal Flawless BB Beauty Balm Cream - Light Medium - I am really happy with this BB cream. It has a lightweight coverage and also a Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen too. This is a new product that I bought and I would use it again.
My Avon Representative is so nice and whenever I place an order with her she always adds in a little gift for me to try out. This time she gave me this Moisture Therapy Hand Lotion to try out.

Over the weekend I went shopping at Urban Outfitters with my daughter and they had an old fashioned record player and records to buy. It was so strange to see but it made us both smile and it was such a throwback for me.
Do you remember record players and records?
Thanks everyone and Enjoy!

Welcome to Makeup Monday on Julie's Lifestyle. Each Monday I will post about a certain type of makeup, nail polish, face or hair product etc. It will be a fun place to come visit about anything to do with beauty.
Last week I mentioned that I love to use CeraVe moisturizing lotion for day and night time use and that it had no fancy bottle. Well I had an old Clinique bottle and I filled it up with some CeraVe and now it fits into my medicine cabinet in my bathroom. I love that it fits and doesn't take up a lot of room on the counter. If you missed the post about CeraVe you can see it here.
Week 17 - Clinique Liquid Facial Soap - Cleanser
Hello friends and welcome to another week of Makeup Monday. Today I am going to talk about the facial cleanser that I use to clean my face in the morning and evening. I use this cleanser from Clinique and it's mild and gentle to use and leaves my skin feeling clean and soft and has no perfume smell. This cleanser lathers gently and cleans the skin without a dry feeling and rinses easily. This cleanser comes in 3 formulas: extra mild, mild and oily skin formula. I would recommend this cleanser and I've been using this for years.
The cream I use for my eyes is called All About Eyes by Clinque. I apply this eye cream in the morning and evening too. This cream is lightweight and diminishes the appearance of puffs and under eye circles.
