Welcome to Makeup Monday on Julie's Lifestyle. Each Monday I will post about a certain type of makeup, nail polish, face or hair product etc. It will be a fun place to come visit about anything to do with beauty.
Hi friends, I hope you all had a nice weekend. I had to find out about all the hype on e.l.f. cosmetics, and by the way e.l.f. stands for eyes lips face! I had been seeing so much on Pinterest and on beauty blogs about their cosmetics and never tried them before. I decided to go to Target recently to buy some things that my family and I needed and discovered that Target sells their line of makeup.
I decided to buy just one item since I have never used any of their makeup before. I bought their blush and I love the color I bought - it is called tickled pink. It looks good on my skin and goes good with my blonde hair. The blush is a light subtle color and it gives a soft and natural look.

I'm very happy with this blush and I would recommend it to you and you can't beat the price at $3.00. The size and the packaging reminds me of the blush I just bought recently from NARS and I paid $30 for it! To see that blog post in case you missed it, you can click HERE.
Here is the description on the back of the box for the blush: The soft sheer texture blends into the skin for a silky finish. Designed to be worn alone or layered for more depth. Highlight your complexion with a subtle healthy glow.
Have you tried any e.l.f. cosmetics? I hope I was helpful and maybe inspired you to try their makeup!

I have a healthy recipe for Tomato Pie that I would love to share with you and it's a great way to use up left over tomatoes grown from the summer.
This dish is great served with a salad on the side. It can be used as an appetizer also.

Hi friends, the vote is in and most of you all love decorative pillows you your bed! This is a photo of my Mom's guest bedroom at her house. In case you missed this post you can see it HERE.
I love extra decorative pillows on the bed and how pretty it makes the bed look. What I do not like is setting up the bed and pillows in the morning and taking them off at night and that is why I only have 4 needed pillows on my bed.
This weeks #Mommy Reality Challenge - Week #18 What is your favorite beverage or drink?

My favorite drink in the afternoon is Starbuck's coffee made in my french press. I have a new schedule and I'm awake each morning at 5:30am (OUCH!) so by the afternoon I need a quick pick me up! This is my favorite and does the trick.

Week 27 - Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner
Week 27 - Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner
Hi friends, and welcome back to Makeup Monday Week 27. I hope you all enjoyed the pretty fall weekend we just had. Today I'd like to share with you the new eyeliner I bought from Target. I was so excited to try out this new eyeliner that my daughter has been using and liked so much. It's called Rimmel Scandal Eyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner - waterproof. This eyeliner looks fabulous on my teenage daughter and shows up nice and thick on her eyes. I tried this eyeliner and it works well on my eyes when I use it with my eye primer from Urban Decay. I usually use an eye crayon from Avon but thought it was fun to try out this type of eyeliner. The eyeliner is similar to a thin magic marker. I bought it in Target and paid $5.49 for it and it's available in most drug stores. The color of the eyeliner is 001 Black.
Have you tried this eyeliner yet and did it work for you?
I have a blogger friend who blogs about makeup and beauty and I love all of her makeup reviews. She writes about the latest makeup trends and is always honest about a product. Kim has a fun blog and if you love makeup like I do then please visit Kim from A Very Sweet Blog when you get a chance!

Hi friends, I have been so busy with preparing for our annual Fall and Christmas knit and crochet sale that we have at our church. The sale is held at our church each fall the weekend right before Thanksgiving. I have here my latest crochet project that I just finished.
It's an Infinity Scarf and Hand Warmers Set!
It's an Infinity Scarf and Hand Warmers Set!
I really like this black yarn with the different colors - green, red, blue, yellow and purple mixed in with it. I had one skein of this yarn but it did not have any label on it so I think it might be Red Heart yarn.
I think this is the perfect set to keep you warm this winter and hopefully someone will want to purchase it!

I will show you the crocheted Headband I just finished making that goes with the set soon.
Have you been working on any winter crochet or knit projects? I hope I have inspired you to make something for winter. These type of sets also make great holiday gifts.
Thanks everyone and Enjoy!

On our bed I just have the pillows that we use to sleep with and we don't really like a lot of decorative pillows.
I was at my Mom's house for Labor Day weekend and stayed in her beautiful guest bedroom and here she has 7 pillows on the bed! My mom loves pillows!

1. Blush Tint Stick in the color Clove - $9.99 - This blush glides and blends in well on your cheeks. You just have to dot a little on your cheeks and blend it with your fingers. It leaves a nice natural glow and I like the way it looks.
2. Airbrush Away Primer - This primer works well with all foundations and moisturizers. It gives your skin a nice glow and good base for your BB cream or foundation. It makes your makeup last longer and skin look smooth. I received this as a sample size of 10 ml. and I'm not sure of price.
3. Triple Protection Tinted Moisturiser - This tinted moisturizer has SPF 15 and 5-Star UVA protection and gives your skin sun protection along with vitamin A and E. I received this as a sample size of 10 ml. and not too sure of the full price. This is a really nice tinted moisturizer that I love since it has SPF in it too.
4. Stay Perfect Foundation in the color Cool Beige - This is a foundation that is mixed with a pressed powder. I love this flawless finish it gives your skin and it has an SPF of 15. This comes with a mirror and sponge in the bottom compartment to apply foundation. This is one of my favorite foundations that I love using in the fall and winter.
5. Stay Perfect Eyeshadow - I think this color is violet shine and this is also a sample size. This is a pretty shade that compliments any eye color. It has little shine particles in the eye shadow. I received this as a sample and sure of the price.
6. High Shine Lip Gloss - Coral Kiss - $7.99 - This is a moisturizing lip gloss with an SPF of 15. I love the color and that it has sun protection in it too. There is no sticky feeling on the lips and gives a light gloss look.
I hope I have inspired you to try Boots No7 makeup and thanks for stopping by today.

MAY WE NEVER FORGET
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
IN LOVING MEMORY OF ALL LIVES LOST ON THAT DAY.
OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH THOSE FAMILIES WHO LOST LOVED ONES.
I have a healthy version of pizza to share with you all. It's Eggplant Pizza and this recipe tastes so good and it's healthy. This recipe is lighter than regular pizza and the crust is eggplant not bread.
This dish is easy to prepare and it can be ready in no time. I'd love to share the recipe with you!
Here is a step by step photo of the process to make the eggplant pizza.

EGGPLANT PIZZA RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
1 globe eggplant - about 8 ounces and 9-10 inches long
salt - to sprinkle on top of eggplant to draw the water out
2 Tablespoons olive oil - to brush on top of eggplant
2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
10 basil strips - cut in strips or chopped (optional)
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/3 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1 jar Italian tomato sauce - your choice or homemade sauce
salt & pepper to taste
DIRECTION:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cut both ends of the eggplant and cut it into 3/4 inch slices. Place eggplant on tray and sprinkle each slice with salt. Let sit this way for about 30 minutes to draw out the liquid.
While eggplant sits heat up your tomato sauce on low.
After 30 minutes wipe the eggplant dry with paper towels. Spray baking sheet with non-stick spray and then place eggplant on the sheet. Brush tops of eggplant with olive oil and sprinkle tops with dried Italian seasoning and salt and pepper to taste. Roast the eggplant for 25 minutes.
While eggplant roasts, slice basil leaves and combine together parmesan and mozzarella cheese together. When eggplant is done roasting take out of oven and set oven to broil. Spread a few tablespoons of sauce on top of eggplant and then sprinkle basil on top with generous amount of cheese mixture. Put the tray of eggplant pizza under the broiler until cheese is melted and slightly browned 5 to 7 minutes (but watch carefully not to burn).
Done!
This dish would be great served with Italian or Garlic Bread and a Salad!

Week 25 - Makeup Brushes and Uses
Hello friends, I hope you all had a nice weekend. Thanks for stopping by and today I'd like to talk about different makeup brushes and their uses. I have a set of makeup brushes here that are labeled and I'm going to use these as samples to explain their uses.
1. Powder Brush - This brush may be used for applying mineral powder or bronzer. The shape of the brush is large, soft, full, and rounded. The bristles pick up the perfect amount of powder when applied to the skin. Load the brush with powder and shake off any excess before sweeping onto your skin.
2. Blusher Brush - This brush has a rounded head and is used to apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. To apply sweep and blend along your cheekbone drawing the brush up into your hairline.
3. Foundation Brush - This is designed to achieve a smooth and flawless finish to your face. The bristles are tightly packed with a tapered tip for fluid application. To apply dampen the brush first in warm water and then squeeze out any excess water into a tissue and then apply a small amount of foundation onto the brush and use.

5. Brow Brush - This long handled brush has stiff-angled bristles that provide maximum control for creating and defining the eyebrows.
To buy a good set of makeup brushes you can buy them at Sephora. They have so many sets to choose from and the sales associates are always helpful. Another option is Amazon and they have a large assortment of brushes available. You can also visit a beauty supply store in your area too.
I hope this was helpful and thanks so much for stopping by this week. See you all next week for Makeup Monday.
Thanks everyone and Enjoy!
