I am taking five minutes of my day to share five things.
I'm sharing 5 things I love about Halloween:
1) I like picking out the candy that I give out to the trick or treaters who come to our house. One year I bought candy that we did not like (so that I would not cheat and eat it before Halloween) but not this year!
2) I love eating (sneaking) some candy and chocolates while I give it out to the trick or treaters. I've also cheated a little bit already on the candy. Hehe. I bought 2 large bags of candy this year. Last year we had a lot of trick or treaters and I used up 1 large bag. So we'll see what happens this year.
3) I enjoy giving out the candy to the kids and looking at their cute costumes. (I do not enjoy looking a big kids with no costumes on)!
4) My dog Bosco has a new Halloween costume this year and will be dressed up as super dog. He will help me give out candy to the trick or treaters.
5) I love looking at the houses decorated for Halloween. In our neighborhood we have some houses that are decorated with orange lights and a lot of cute and scary decorations.
Do you like Halloween? I'd love to know!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Wishing you all a safe and Happy Halloween!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and see you all back here on

Hi friends. I hope you are all having a nice week and getting ready for Halloween.
Here at our house I love decorating for Halloween with cute decorations. In our house we do not like scary or skulls or anything bloody.
I did not buy any new Halloween decorations for inside the house this year. I just used the crochet pumpkins that I made last year to add into my mantel. I also crocheted a ghost that hangs from my mantel.
I added into my window box on my stoop some small scarecrows and as you can see the flowers are still blooming and have not died. I love mums and have them too on the steps will some small pumpkins. I also have a ghost hanging on my front door.

As you can see I have been motivated this year to crochet some of my own decorations. It's fun and I did not spend a lot of money on the yarn.
I know many of you have made your own awesome decorations for fall and Halloween. Thanks for keeping me motivated to make my own decorations!

Hello friends! I hope you are all having a nice fall weekend. I've been super busy this week and apologize if I have not visited some of you. Please know that I read all of your lovely comments and I thank you.
I had the lucky opportunity to have another blog meet up yesterday in New York City in the Times Square area.
Guess who I met? I had lunch with Amy from Ms. Toody Goo Shoes ( If you remember we met for coffee during the summer. It was one of the hottest days of summer too! If you missed that post you can read that HERE ).
And with..... Ginnie from Hello Little Home!
And don't forget my first meet up I had with Mary from My Dogs My Garden and Mary when I was on vacation in California back in June. If you missed that post you can read it HERE.

We had lunch at HB Burger & Bar which is right in Times Square, New York City.
We had a nice lunch of veggie burgers and salads that were so good. We all had so much fun getting to know each other and talking and sharing about our blog stories.
Sorry, but we all forgot to ask the waiter to take a photo of us together!
We all had so much fun and we are looking forward to our next blogger luncheon.
Amy was so sweet and thoughtful and gave Ginnie and I each a package of homemade Rugelach. To see the recipe to make your own you can visit Amy's blog post HERE.
Here is the Rugelach in the really cute carton that Amy made. It tastes amazing! Thanks Amy.
Kim from Exquisitely Unremarkable and Janet from Rosemary and Thyme could not meet with us for the luncheon and you were both missed. We hope to meet up in the future.
Blogger friends are the Best!

Hello friends! With Halloween fast approaching I decided to make a crochet ghost. I made this in no time and I'd love to share with you how I made it.
This easy craft took me about 2 hours tops to make.
This easy craft took me about 2 hours tops to make.
CROCHET GHOST
What you will need to make the ghost:
Yarn: White Red Heart Yarn - for ghost
Black Red Heart Yarn - for eyes, to tie around ghost, & to hang
Crochet Hook: US Hook size I
Cotton Fill
ch = chain
hdc = half double crochet
Directions:
Chain 22
hdc in second ch from hook. Continue with hdc all the way to end of row. When you get to the end of row ch 2 and turn. Continue this way until you have 14 rows done. Weave in both ends of yarn. This will now look like a square shape. Take a small amount of cotton filling and form into a ball. Place this in middle of the crocheted piece. Take a long piece of cut black yarn and tie a bow around the neck of the ghost. Sew in two eyes with black yarn and add a long piece of yarn at the top of ghost and then tie a knot at the end to hang up.
Done.

Hi friends, I'd love to share with you this recipe I found on Pinterest. This easy and delicious recipe is from Betty Crocker. The nice part about this recipe is that there is no pie crust.
I have been making this Vegetable Pie for a few months and it's a family favorite. This makes a great meatless dish paired with a salad on the side. I hope I have inspired you to make this for lunch or dinner.
IMPOSSIBLY EASY VEGETABLE PIE
Ingredients:
2 cups chopped broccoli or sliced fresh cauliflower
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
1/2 cup Original Bisquick mix
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs
Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease 9 inch pie plate. Heat 1 inch salted water to boiling in medium saucepan. Add broccoli; cover and heat to boiling. Cook about 5 minutes or until almost tender; drain thoroughly. Stir together cooked broccoli; onion, bell pepper and cheese in plate.
Stir remaining ingredients until blended. Pour into pie plate.
Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes.
* NOTE: If you do not have some of the ingredients on hand such as peppers or the onion this recipe still tastes great.

Today is Bosco's 8th Birthday!
We rescued him about 7 1/2 years ago when he was a puppy and we love him so much.
He is such a good boy and such a joy to have. He is so friendly to people and dogs!
I will be buying him a hamburger later from McDonald's!
I know he'll LOVE that!
Bosco and I hope you all have a great day.

Exchange #5 - Here
I was assigned to send my package to Sue who lives in North Carolina and she blogs at Pear Tree Lane Farmhouse. Sue, I do hope you enjoyed your goodies, as I had so much fun and enjoyed gathering and making the items I sent to you.
I'd love to show you my awesome package I received in the mail from Mary who blogs at Material Girl Quilter.
This is what the inside of the box looked like when I opened it up.
Everything was wrapped up so nice and put inside a pretty box with a pretty festive dish towel and bracelet wrapped around the outside of the towel.
I love how pretty everything was wrapped in black tissue paper with the silver ribbon.
Mary wrote me such nice note and I love the card with the bear sitting in the cup with flowers.
Here are all of the wonderful goodies I received from Mary. It felt like Christmas for me as I sat there opening up my gifts. She included in the package a Paris themed mug with peanut M & M's (which I love), shortbread cookies, dark chocolates, different flavored hot cocoa mix, a dish towel, bracelet, and pretty box.
These are the assortment of hot cocoa's that I will enjoy drinking during the fall and winter months in my new mug.
Here is my new Paris themed mug which is perfect for a large cup of hot chocolate and coffee.
I love the pretty box that Mary included with everything.
The shortbread cookies are so amazing which I enjoyed already with my afternoon coffee. I can't wait to have the Acai and Blueberry Flavored Chocolates.
Here is my gorgeous new mug which I have enjoyed using already. I am waiting for colder weather to enjoy the hot cocoa in my pretty mug.
Thanks so much Stephanie for arranging your awesome teacup and mug exchanges. I have enjoyed the ones that I have participated in so far and I have so much fun meeting new blog friends. I look forward to participating in more of your exchanges.
Thanks Mary for this awesome package of goodies as I love everything.

Hi friends. Now that fall is here I love entertaining with family and friends. One of my favorite things about fall is eating apple pie.
Recently while I was visiting with family, I made this apple pie and everyone loved it. All you need is a box of pie crusts and apple pie filling to make this easy and delicious pie.
Psst... I did not share my secret with anyone either! Lol!
Shown here are the simple steps to make this apple pie.
Semi Homemade Apple Pie
Ingredients:
1 can Duncan Hines Comstock More Fruit Apple Filling
1 box Pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on box
1 egg
1 dash of milk
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Unroll pie crusts and press crust into pie plate. Fill crust with 1 can of apple pie filling. Place pie crust on top of apple pie filling. Press down edges of pie crust. Lightly beat egg with a dash of milk. Brush egg mixture onto the edges and top of the pie. Place pie on baking sheet and bake 25 to 30 minutes or until crusts are golden brown and fruit is bubbling.
Done.
** You can use any pie filling you like such as blueberry, cherry, and peach.
Wishing you all a nice end of the week and weekend.
Thanks everyone and Enjoy!

My hydrangea plant has changed it's color to a light pink and won't be around too much longer due to the fall weather. I will miss seeing the pretty flowers until next spring.
Happy October Friends!
I usually do not put out fall decorations inside my house, but this year I decided to do some decorating in my living room. I was inspired because of all the blogs I have been visiting and looking at their fall home decor. I was determined this year to decorate my mantel with crocheted apples that I wanted to make.
If you would like to visit my post on how to make your own crochet apples you can visit my blog post HERE.
The other items I bought at Michael's craft store and I enjoyed picking them out as there were so many to choose from. I thought they blended in well with the crocheted apples.
This is my fall mantel and the church painting was made by me many years ago when I was a teenager and I had taken many painting lessons. I love this fall scene and the colors of the trees.
On this small bookcase I have displayed a pumpkin crate with small pumpkins inside. The hydrangea's are not real, but I love the way they look in the vase.
I will be mixing in with these decorations my crocheted pumpkins I made.
To see my mini crocheted pumpkins and to make your own in time for Halloween, you can visit HERE.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my mantel decorated for fall and soon it be ready for Halloween and Thanksgiving.
