Happy Friday everyone.
I can't believe that it's already the end of August and we will be heading into September!
1. Pesto Sauce and Chickpea Pasta
I recently made homemade pesto sauce to go with the chickpea pasta that I bought from Costco. Homemade pesto sauce is so easy to make and it tastes so fresh.

The chickpea pasta tastes good if you don't want to eat regular pasta. We've tried the black bean and brown rice pasta from Trader Joe's which also tastes good.
2. Dinner at Shake Shack
My husband and I recently had dinner at Shake Shack and it was so much fun. The burgers are so good and we shared chicken bites, fries, diet cokes, and chocolate ice cream. We had so much fun together!

3. Loving This Food Photo on Instagram
I follow my friend Ping on Instagram @espritdelavie_ping and loved this photo of a hamburger and hotdog on a roll!
I would love to make one, as I know my family would love this! :)

Have you read any good books this summer? Do you have any books to recommend me reading?

Hello blog friends.
I am now onto the Family Trip to Asia - Part 7.
This is the last part of our family vacation to Asia.
This is the last part of our family vacation to Asia.
We arrived in the afternoon at the Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong.
We were greeted in our hotel room with three of the cutest teddy bears that made my teen so happy!
It was such a warm, cloudy, and gloomy day.
Below is the view we saw of the city from our hotel room.
Once the evening came we found some cute narrow streets to walk along and sightsee in the rain.
I thought the man and women statues looked so interesting.
Our hotel had a beautiful outdoor pool that looked so pretty. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time on our trip to go swimming in the pool. :(
We had a wonderful dinner at Dim Sum Library. Sorry, no photos of the food.
We enjoyed doing some more sightseeing for the next few days and eating some fabulous meals. |
We enjoyed walking around the beautiful mall. I was so surprised that they had a Shake Shack. We even had breakfast one morning at Le Pain Quotidien that we all enjoyed.
Some of the sights of Hong Kong.
Luckily, we visited Hong Kong in May before the protests started.
The short ferry ride to Kowloon was nice.
Our last evening in Hong Kong we met up with a friend and went to a rooftop bar for drinks.
We then had a fabulous dinner together on our last night in Hong Kong.
Goodbye Asia trip, I will have fond memories of you.
I hope to return someday for another visit.
We all had such a wonderful family vacation to Asia.
Thank you to all who read about our family vacation. I hope you all enjoyed seeing and hearing about our trip.

Hello blog friends.
We are now onto Family Trip to Asia - Part 6.
We arrived at our hotel The Intercontinental Saigon in Vietnam.
This was our view from our hotel room.
We decided once we were all settled into our hotel room to go out and explore the area.
Below is a photo of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Ho Chi Minh City located downtown. Due to the construction being done on the cathedral we were not able to go inside.
This is the outside of the Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The Inside of the Post Office.
We found this street that had pop up book stores/cafes lined along the street.
After a long day, we decided to stop into McDonald's for dinner. My husband and I decided to try their fried chicken which was delicious! Sorry, no photos of the food. :(
The next day we took our time eating our buffet breakfast inside the hotel. We took a taxi to have spa time. We all got massages and facials that were amazing! I love that they were only $30 US money!
Our next day we had breakfast and then did some more sightseeing.
Below is the Independence Palace which is also known as the Reunification Palace. It was the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
We saw the War Remnants Museum.
Some planes and tanks used during the Vietnam War.
On a happier note, we had a lovely dinner at a Vietnamese Restaurant.
We enjoyed the cool drinks. The restaurant was open with many trees inside with twinkling white lights.
Shown below is some delicious food we shared.
The next day we would be leaving for our last part of our trip. We would be traveling to Hong Kong to stay for three nights.
Stay tuned for the last part of our Family Trip to Asia.

Hello blog friends.
We are now onto Family Trip to Asia - Part 5.
We stayed at the Intercontinental Da Nang Peninsula Resort, Vietnam.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Da Nang Peninsula Resort, Vietnam.
We decided to take a short walk to the area where our buffet breakfast was set up.
We enjoyed the breathtaking views of the mountains, trees, and water on our walk.
We all enjoyed the large assortment of breakfast foods. We sometimes went back to fill our plates with seconds of food.
We still talk about how much we enjoyed their breakfast buffet and good food!

For our second day, we decided to leave the resort in the morning and take a bus ride to the city of Hoi An. Hoi An is a beautiful city in Vietnam just south of Da Nang.
Once we arrived in Hoi An, we walked along and went inside many beautiful temples.
We also enjoyed walking up and down the many streets to sightsee and shop. There were so many people riding on motor scooters. |
It was so interesting to see so many open shops selling different items such as plastic bowls, fruit, vegetables, summer straw bags, and handbags.
I thought these sandals were so pretty with the flowers and tassels. Look at the popular sports slides and Birkenstock sandals.
The weather was so hot at about 90 degrees or even hotter. We decided to stop at a cute coffee shop for iced coffee.
I ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee that tasted so good. We saw many restaurants and coffee shops while sightseeing.
We had our last seafood dinner at the resort. We sat outside and we could see the pretty lights and the beach.
Below are some photos I took of our delicious food.
I had such a nice day sightseeing in Hoi An and we had such an awesome seafood dinner.
The next day we would be leaving Da Nang for another area of Vietnam and I was so sorry to leave. I enjoyed my two days at the resort and I thought it was one of the most beautiful places to visit.
