Week 37 - Wet n Wild Wildshine Nail Polish
Hello friends, I hope you all had a nice weekend. Welcome to week 37 of Makeup Monday. Today I would love to share with you this nail polish I bought recently by Wet n Wild. I was shopping and wanted a new polish and picked this up because it was on sale and it cost $1.99! The color is called 455B Tickled Pink. Well I have to tell you that I love this polish and it lasted for one week on my nails without chipping. I did my own manicure and the polish went on smoothly too. I would definitely recommend this nail polish and I hope you like it too. I sometimes enjoy doing my own nails instead of going to the nail salon. I find it very relaxing and I save money too.

Week 36 - Physicans Formula Super BB All-in-1 Beauty Balm Stick

Week 36 - Physicans Formula Super BB All-in-1 Beauty Balm Stick
Hello friends! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Today I'd like to share with you this new BB Balm Stick that I bought recently at Duane Reade. I love using BB Cream and I saw that this is different as it is a balm stick that you use to apply to your face instead of cream from a tube. I love how convenient it is to use and I applied it on my face where I needed to and then I used a makeup sponge to blend it in. This has an SPF 30 and the color that I bought is Light and is the perfect color for my fair skin. It also comes in Light/Medium and that is perfect for darker colored skin. The price I paid for this is $12.95 and I am happy that it works well and blends in easily. I love wearing and using this product and if you like using BB Cream than I would recommend you try this product. This would be great for traveling and it's not a liquid and it won't take up too much room in your makeup bag.
* Makeup Tip: Makeup Sponges are great for blending in BB Creams and Foundation. You can purchase these at any drug store. I love using these to blend in my makeup.
Do you have a favorite BB Cream that you like using? I'd love to know.
Thanks for stopping by and see you all next time for Makeup Monday.

WEEK 35 - We're Talking Mascara
Happy Monday everyone! I would love to talk to you about mascara today. I recently bought MAYBELLINE VOLUM' EXPRESS Mascara and I really liked it.
I have spent a lot of money on mascara and I've not been so happy or impressed with them. MAYBELLINE has been around for ages and I used to use Great Lash mascara and swore by it until I bought and tried out this mascara.
This mascara does a nice job with coating the lashes with no clumps or flaking. I applied only one coat and liked how it gave my lashes volume and length. You can't beat the price at $7.49 to $7.99 a bottle. The color I used is 402 brownish black. You can find this mascara in any drug store.
My other favorite mascara is by Clinique called Clinique High Impact Mascara.
This mascara does not smear or smudge and lasts well throughout the day. It coats the lashes nice, leaves no clumps or flaking. I only need one coat of this mascara and it's also easy to remove and Ophthalmologist tested. The price is $16.50 a tube and not too expensive. To see it at Sephora you can click here.
Do you have a favorite mascara that you like? I'd love to know!
Thanks for stopping by and see you all next time for Makeup Monday.

Week 34 - Nail Art

Week 34 - Nail Art
Hi friends, nail art is all the rage and there are so many different designs that are popular. There so many different companies making bright colored nail polishes such as the aqua and navy nail polish as shown above.
I love wearing bright colored nail polish in the summer and when I'm wearing opened toed sandals or flip flops. I love wearing a little bit of sparkle on both of my ring fingers. It's a pretty look and does not look too over the top for me. Spring and summer are the perfect time to try out different styles.
I have a few blog friends that are very talented at painting their nails and doing nail art.
There is T'onna from Navy Wifey Peters Aboard the USS Crafty.
There is the talented Liz from Rose Vignettes and she posts on her blog Manicure Monday and you don't want to miss that!
There is a popular product out now called Jamberry Nails and Kim from Exquisitely Unremarkable did a wonderful blog post about them. They are nail wraps and no polish is involved which is perfect if you don't like the smell of nail polish.
I hope you enjoyed Makeup Monday today. Have you ever had a nail art manicure or pedicure? I did during the holiday's when I had a gel manicure. I had them add sparkle on my ring fingers. (Next time I will make sure I take a photo to show you).
Thanks for stopping by and see you all next time for Makeup Monday.

Week 33 - Discontinued Makeup
Have you ever bought makeup and really loved it and then discovered that it's discontinued?

Have you ever bought makeup and really loved it and then discovered that it's discontinued?
Well that is what happened to me last fall when I discovered this lipstick on the left called Nude Delight 642 by RIMMEL! This lipstick was recommended by one of my Instagram buddies when she showed a photo of it and I loved it so much I had to buy it. I fell in love with this lipstick and thought it looked great on me. When I was almost finished and you can tell by the photo on the left, I went searching at so many stores for this same color and could not find it.
My dilemma was what am I going to do now? Well I just went with the lipstick to the drug store and bought a similar looking lipstick color and same brand that matches. My lovely daughter saw this new color that I bought and she too fell in love with it. It's called Notting Hill Nude 720 by RIMMEL.
When this situation happens all you have to do is is try and match up the color with a color that looks the same or similar. I do hope this tip was helpful.
This lipstick is a nude color and last year nudes were all the rage and I still love light colors for day time. When I tried on the lipstick without lipliner I thought it did not look good on me, so I used lipliner. I thought it looked much better on me that way. Do you ever play around with your makeup? I love doing that and it's alway good to experiment a little.
Have you ever experienced a situation with discontinued makeup?
By the way friends, I'm on Instagram, so if you are on Instagram come follow along HERE. You can see some behind the scene photos from Julie's Lifestyle.
Thanks for stopping by and see you all next time for Makeup Monday.

Week 32 - Easy Steps to Winterize Your Skin
During the winter our skin tends to get very dry if you live in an area that gets cold in the winter. It is very important to keep your skin hydrated. Here are some easy ways to have soft skin for winter.
1. Drink Plenty of Water - This helps us stay hydrated internally during the winter.
2. Exfoliate Your Skin - This is a great way to get rid of dead skin cells and flaky skin. Try doing this at least once a week or once every two weeks.
3. Moisturize Face and Body - Using your favorite face and body cream is essential to having soft skin in the winter. There are parts of your face and body that can get very dried out and by doing this it can help that problem. To see the post on my favorite creams you can click here.
4. Keep Hands and Feet Hydrated - Using a good hand cream is important in winter. Two of my favorite hand creams are L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream and Keihl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. To see the post I did on Makeup Monday - Favorite Hand Creams you can click here.
5. Hydrate Your Lips - Keeping our lips hydrated during the winter is very important since they can become chapped and very dried out. I love using Chapstick and eos evolution of smooth for daytime and nighttime use.
6. Use Sunscreen - The suns rays are still effective in the winter especially if skiing or outside for long periods of time.
These are just a few easy ways that we can keep our skin looking soft and smooth for the winter.

WEEK 29 - SEPHORA FAVORITES
Hi friends, and welcome to Week 29 of Makeup Monday. I hope you all had a nice weekend. I had a nice weekend going out to dinner with friends and family and I went to an appreciation party at my church yesterday. Today I'd love to show you a few makeup favorites that I purchased from Sephora.
My first favorite is Benefit Beyond Mascara - They're Real. This mascara is amazing and makes your lashes look full and thick without any clumps. It lengthens, curls, adds volume, lifts and separates the lashes without any smudging or drying out. This color is jet black and the cost is $23.00.
My second favorite is MARC JACOBS Gel Eye Crayon in the color 42 Blacquer. This eyeliner gives you a dramatic look and gives your eyes some pop with intense color. This eyeliner is perfect for a night out. The cost is $25.00.
My third favorite is Formula X New Classics Nail Polish in the color Harmonics - Deep Lilac. This polish gives your nails high shine and dries fast. This polish is a bold shade of lilac. There are many shades available and the cost is $10.50 a bottle.
My fourth favorite is Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polish in the color Mayfair Lane. This polish gives the effect of a gel polish with a lot of shine. The best part is there is no UV lights needed to apply this polish. This color is a very pale pink and goes with everything you wear. The cost is $14.00.
I love shopping at Sephora and I do hope you enjoyed looking at some of my favorite makeup I bought there.
Thanks so much for stopping by this week for Makeup Monday.

Hi friends, I hope you all had a nice weekend. I had to find out about all the hype on e.l.f. cosmetics, and by the way e.l.f. stands for eyes lips face! I had been seeing so much on Pinterest and on beauty blogs about their cosmetics and never tried them before. I decided to go to Target recently to buy some things that my family and I needed and discovered that Target sells their line of makeup.
I decided to buy just one item since I have never used any of their makeup before. I bought their blush and I love the color I bought - it is called tickled pink. It looks good on my skin and goes good with my blonde hair. The blush is a light subtle color and it gives a soft and natural look.

I'm very happy with this blush and I would recommend it to you and you can't beat the price at $3.00. The size and the packaging reminds me of the blush I just bought recently from NARS and I paid $30 for it! To see that blog post in case you missed it, you can click HERE.
Here is the description on the back of the box for the blush: The soft sheer texture blends into the skin for a silky finish. Designed to be worn alone or layered for more depth. Highlight your complexion with a subtle healthy glow.
Have you tried any e.l.f. cosmetics? I hope I was helpful and maybe inspired you to try their makeup!

Week 27 - Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner
Hi friends, and welcome back to Makeup Monday Week 27. I hope you all enjoyed the pretty fall weekend we just had. Today I'd like to share with you the new eyeliner I bought from Target. I was so excited to try out this new eyeliner that my daughter has been using and liked so much. It's called Rimmel Scandal Eyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner - waterproof. This eyeliner looks fabulous on my teenage daughter and shows up nice and thick on her eyes. I tried this eyeliner and it works well on my eyes when I use it with my eye primer from Urban Decay. I usually use an eye crayon from Avon but thought it was fun to try out this type of eyeliner. The eyeliner is similar to a thin magic marker. I bought it in Target and paid $5.49 for it and it's available in most drug stores. The color of the eyeliner is 001 Black.
Have you tried this eyeliner yet and did it work for you?
I have a blogger friend who blogs about makeup and beauty and I love all of her makeup reviews. She writes about the latest makeup trends and is always honest about a product. Kim has a fun blog and if you love makeup like I do then please visit Kim from A Very Sweet Blog when you get a chance!

1. Blush Tint Stick in the color Clove - $9.99 - This blush glides and blends in well on your cheeks. You just have to dot a little on your cheeks and blend it with your fingers. It leaves a nice natural glow and I like the way it looks.
2. Airbrush Away Primer - This primer works well with all foundations and moisturizers. It gives your skin a nice glow and good base for your BB cream or foundation. It makes your makeup last longer and skin look smooth. I received this as a sample size of 10 ml. and I'm not sure of price.
3. Triple Protection Tinted Moisturiser - This tinted moisturizer has SPF 15 and 5-Star UVA protection and gives your skin sun protection along with vitamin A and E. I received this as a sample size of 10 ml. and not too sure of the full price. This is a really nice tinted moisturizer that I love since it has SPF in it too.
4. Stay Perfect Foundation in the color Cool Beige - This is a foundation that is mixed with a pressed powder. I love this flawless finish it gives your skin and it has an SPF of 15. This comes with a mirror and sponge in the bottom compartment to apply foundation. This is one of my favorite foundations that I love using in the fall and winter.
5. Stay Perfect Eyeshadow - I think this color is violet shine and this is also a sample size. This is a pretty shade that compliments any eye color. It has little shine particles in the eye shadow. I received this as a sample and sure of the price.
6. High Shine Lip Gloss - Coral Kiss - $7.99 - This is a moisturizing lip gloss with an SPF of 15. I love the color and that it has sun protection in it too. There is no sticky feeling on the lips and gives a light gloss look.

Week 25 - Makeup Brushes and Uses
Hello friends, I hope you all had a nice weekend. Thanks for stopping by and today I'd like to talk about different makeup brushes and their uses. I have a set of makeup brushes here that are labeled and I'm going to use these as samples to explain their uses.
1. Powder Brush - This brush may be used for applying mineral powder or bronzer. The shape of the brush is large, soft, full, and rounded. The bristles pick up the perfect amount of powder when applied to the skin. Load the brush with powder and shake off any excess before sweeping onto your skin.
2. Blusher Brush - This brush has a rounded head and is used to apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. To apply sweep and blend along your cheekbone drawing the brush up into your hairline.
3. Foundation Brush - This is designed to achieve a smooth and flawless finish to your face. The bristles are tightly packed with a tapered tip for fluid application. To apply dampen the brush first in warm water and then squeeze out any excess water into a tissue and then apply a small amount of foundation onto the brush and use.
