Hello blog friends. I have this really cute and quick crochet project to share with you.
I was so happy when I received an email recently from a blog friend Diane, who suggested that I try and make some crochet face scrubbies and she left me a link to the pattern.
One afternoon I decided to try and make one. It was pretty simple to make once I figured out the crochet pattern.
I think these are a great idea to use for removing makeup and to wash your face instead of using cotton rounds. After you use the scrubbies and they get dirty, just put them into a mesh zippered bag and toss into the washing machine to clean.
Take a look below to find the details to make your own crochet face scrubbies.

Hello blog friends. Do you ever run out of ideas for making a weeknight meal? I do.
I was so happy when I saw one of my blog/Instagram friends, Shirley from Intelligent Domestications post up on Instagram (intelligent_domestications), a photo of beef tips that she made for her dinner.
I also saw that Shirley had her crockpot recipe posted up on her blog too. I hope you will all stop by her Instagram and blog and check out her Crockpot Beef Tips and Gravy recipe.

Well, just by looking at that photo it gave me the idea to make beef strips and broccoli for dinner. I decided that I would just make mine on the stove.
Below you can see my Beef and Broccoli cooking on the stove. This is the easiest weeknight meal and everyone will love it.
I love it when I am inspired by my blogger buddies to make recipes that I see on their blogs and on Instagram. Thanks Shirley from Intelligent Domestications for inspiring me to make this awesome and delicious dish.
It reminds me of a Chinese takeout dish that we often get when we order Chinese food.
I decided that I would make Instant Pot Rice as a side for the beef and broccoli. You can serve this dish with anything you like on the side.
EASY BEEF AND BROCCOLI
INGREDIENTS:
I package of beef strips
1 jar of beef gravy
1 small package of frozen broccoli
1 tablespoon olive oil
DIRECTIONS:
In a large skillet add to the pan olive oil and beef strips. Cook the meat until it is all the way cooked through and no more pink in meat. Next add in gravy and broccoli and cook them all together until broccoli is done and tender.
Meanwhile you can cook your rice on the stove or in the Instant Pot.

Hello blog friends. I celebrated my birthday a few days after Christmas. We decided to celebrate by having dinner at a restaurant called Misi. I'd love to share with you our awesome dinner there.
I was so happy and surprised when my husband made and got reservations for our dinner at a local restaurant called Misi. This restaurant is so hard to get a reservation and you need to book it at least a month in advance.
Luckily, my husband follows them on Instagram, and he was able to book the reservation with them that way. I love that my husband used social media to get the reservation!
This restaurant celebrates food by making homemade pasta and vegetable antipasti by simple Italian cooking.
When you walk into the restaurant the kitchen is open and you can sit there and eat your dinner and watch everyone working and cooking in the kitchen. We did not sit there as we had a large table to ourselves to eat our delicious meal.
The menu at Misi |
My husband, daughter, and I decided that we would share eating three appetizers to begin our dinner. We started off with marinated peppers with marjoram and whipped ricotta crostini, grilled baby artichokes with mint salsa verde, and sauteed peppers.
We all decided that we would also share four pasta dishes for our main meal.
Strangozzi, pork sugo, nutmeg, parmigiano |
Corzetti, Italian broccoli, pine nuts, mint |
Chickpea Pappardelle |
Spaghetti, fennel pesto, sicilian almonds |
We were so full by this point and totally enjoyed tasting all of our pasta and vegetables. Since we were celebrating my birthday, we still had room to eat dessert.
I had a chocolate gelato and a decaf single espresso. I was so excited to eat the ice cream that I forgot to take photos of the other flavored gelato.

This was such a nice dinner and the perfect way for me to celebrate my birthday with my family!
Before I go I want to wish you all a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
I hope you all have a fun time however you celebrate this day. 💗

Hello blog friends. Today I am joining in with a new blogger to me, Laura from The Horton Family.
Laura will be doing a new series called Three Things Write with Me, on the second Monday of every month. There will not be a link up but if you would like to read about the details you can HERE.
I thought that this would be a fun writing prompt to participate in. I did not post mine yesterday since Jess and I do the link party Cooking and Crafting with J & J on Monday's. I will just have to do mine on the second Tuesday of the month.
Here are the writing prompts for February.
1. Describe one way you've recently shown love to others.
One of the ways that I have shown love to others is when I drove three ladies in my crochet group home from our holiday luncheon party in the beginning of January. It was so cold out and most of the women in our crochet group do not drive and they either walk or take a car service when they go out. I was happy to show some love and help them out and drive three of the women of the group home after the party. I was happy that I made them happy. :)
2. What verse, song, or quote inspires you in your current situation.
I am loving this quote right now:
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving. By Albert Einstein.
I recently started going back to the gym in January after taking some time off from the holidays. If you missed that post, you can read it HERE. I just want to keep moving by walking and exercising at the gym so that I can stay healthy.
3. The quality I admire most in others is?
Ok. For me there are a lot of qualities I admire in a person. One of them is Generosity. You have a friend or family member in need? You know someone that needs cheering up or that needs to confide in you? This quality is no problem for a generous person who has plenty to give emotionally. They will give to other people in whatever way possible. I love that in a person and I try to teach this value to my daughter because it will get you far in life. This is one of the qualities I love about my husband and he will go out of his way and be generous to his family and friends. :)
I hope you will play along and join in for next month for the second Monday in March. Here are the writing prompts for March.
If you read this Laura, thanks for a fun writing series and I'm looking forward to the writing prompts for March.

Hello blog friends. I hope you're all staying warm this winter as it's cold in some parts of the world. I have a fun project that you might like to crochet and keep your hands warm this winter.
Me Sampling the Crochet Gloves I Made! |
Before the holidays, I started back at the beginning of November, making six pairs of crochet fingerless gloves for my daughter and her college friends. I wanted to make them so that they could have a handmade gift for Christmas.
I was inspired to make these when my friend from my crochet group was making these for her daughter. I thought that this would be a fun project for me too.
The pattern to make these crochet fingerless gloves can be found on YouTube with Fiber Spider. You just have to type in on YouTube easy crocheted fingerless gloves tutorial and look for Fiber Spider.
I watched the video from Fiber Spider on how to make these crochet gloves. He explains the process really well and shows you how to make these easy crochet fingerless gloves. It's really a lot easier to watch a video when making different projects.
I used medium worsted weight yarn that was variegated in different colors and black yarn. I chose this kind of yarn because they can easily be hand washed and will keep your hands warm.
The stitch that I used to create these gloves is the single crochet in the back loop.
Below you can see the photos I took of the crocheted gloves I made.

6 Sets of Fingerless Gloves I had so much fun making this project for my daughter and friends. They were all so surprised and really liked the crocheted gloves. Knowing that made me happy. :) I hope I've inspired you to make them too. Stay warm everyone and see you all soon. Click HERE to see the great parties I will be linking up to! Julie |
Hello blog friends and Happy Friday. I'm loving that it's February and that we all survived January. I'm sharing a few favorites that I'm loving this week.
1. My Magazine Subscriptions
I love and get so excited when my magazines come in the mail each month. Instead of using up airline miles I trade them in for magazine subscriptions. This way I get to read magazines for free. You've got to love that!
2. Maui Moisture Shampoo
I decide to change things up a bit and try out this new shampoo. I really like the way this shampoo smells and it reminds me of coconuts. I have dry hair so I use this shampoo with hair conditioner and it makes my hair feel nice and soft. Have any of you tried this shampoo?
3. It Cosmetics CC Cream
I have been wanting to try out this CC Cream for a long time. I was inspired to try it out when I saw it posted on the blog from Heather who blogs at Our Life in a Click. I made a visit to the Sephora store and tried out a sample of it on my face. I really like this foundation and it has great coverage. Thanks Heather for recommending this foundation, I love it!
4. L.L. Bean Slippers
I have been wanting new slippers for quite a while. I received these slippers from L.L. Bean for Christmas. These slippers work so good and keep my feet really warm. I don't even need to wear socks with them, as they keep my feet warm and toasty. These slippers are called Women's Wicked Good Slippers, Venetian.
5. Three Things
I just started following a new blog to me. The blogger is Laura from The Horton Family. She is starting a new series on her blog. It's called Three Things. She is giving us three prompts and we write the answers. She will be doing this on the second Monday of every month starting February 11th. To see the details you can visit HERE. Since I help run the blog party, Cooking and Crafting with J & J on Monday's, I will be doing my post on Tuesday, February 12th. There will not be a link up, but I hope this will help some of you be inspired to write a fun post.
6. Super Bowl Weekend

6. Super Bowl Weekend
My husband is a huge sports fan and we will be watching the Super Bowl Game together on Sunday. We plan on eating chicken wings. Yum! I will have different sides to go with the chicken wings, such as mac and cheese, and some kind of salad. It will be low key this year, but we will still have fun together!
I hope you've enjoyed reading some of my favorites this week. Have a Happy Friday and weekend!
