Hello blog friends, I have been working on the men's knit scarf a little bit each day and I have made some progress on it and I'd love to show you. I decided to add grey yarn to the scarf as I think the scarf needed a little bit of contrast. To see the beginning of my work on the knit scarf you can see it here.
The grey yarn that I am using is Great Canadian by Bouquet and the yarn is made in Canada. My mom gave me this yarn to use a while ago and I'm using it now for the scarf. I love afternoon coffee to keep me going through the day and I love using my Dunkin' Donuts mug!
I plan on making the scarf at least 60 to 65 inches long and I'm hoping I will have enough yarn to work with.
Thanks everyone and enjoy.

I figure if I work a little bit each day on the scarf then it won't be so overwhelming for me. I really like the way that the scarf is coming out and I'm using the grey yarn to make a stripe effect. I learned how to use a circular knitting needle from watching some YouTube videos and I find it a little bit easier with holding the needles. I find the YouTube videos very helpful and I even learned how to add different colored yarn by watching them and how to weave in your ends of yarn.

Week 4
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment
This concealer is my all time favorite drug store makeup find. It is goes on quick and it's easy to use. You just twist the top by the cap and the concealer pops up in the sponge and then it makes it easy to apply underneath the eye area and it blends in well. This also comes in many shades and the color I use is Fair #110 because I have light coloring. The cost ranges between $7.99 to $9.99 depending on what drug store you shop at.
To see the link for this concealer click here.
Do you use concealer and what is your favorite product? Please tell your friends to stop by here if they like anything makeup or beauty and thanks again.

Here is an easy recipe for brussels sprouts that I posted back in March of 2013 and I would love to share it with you again. Since then I have been making this vegetable for our family at least twice a month and sometimes more. This vegetable has become a favorite in our house.
Easy
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 40 minutes
Serving size: 6
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds brussels sprouts
3 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cut off brown ends of brussels sprouts and pull off any outer yellow leaves. Mix them in a bowl with the olive oil, salt and pepper. Pour them onto a sheet sprayed with Pam and roast for 35 to 40 minutes, until crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Shake the pan from time to time to brown the sprouts evenly. Sprinkle with more salt and serve immediately.
Note: I cut the brussels sprouts in half if they are too large.
I hope that I have inspired you to make this delicious side dish and let me know how it comes out.

Hi everyone! This men's knit scarf is my current project that I was commissioned to make for our annual Christmas Fair which is held every fall at our church. I'm on a knitting kick right now and I'm giving crocheting a break for a while it seems. The yarn I'm using is from my own stash and it's Red Heart Classic in the color 365 Coffee. I'm using a circular knitting needle, size 8 US and I casted on 25 stitches. I will be making this scarf in the knit stitch and I have not decided yet if I want to add any contrasting colored yarn to the scarf.
I also started reading the book The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I saw the movie about 2 weeks ago and I loved it but cried throughout the whole movie because it was so sad. My daughter had to read this book for school and so she kept urging me to read it and I'm glad I am.
Thanks everyone and enjoy.

The book and the knitting will keep me busy for a while on these long winter nights.

CoverGirl Mascara - Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara
Hi everyone! Let's talk about mascara today. This CoverGirl mascara has got to be my favorite mascara. It's a great drug store find and it's not expensive at all. For years I had been using Maybelline mascara, the one in the pink and green tube until I found this mascara. It did not clump and the coverage is good and it adds a lot of volume. The color that I use is black #805.
What is your favorite mascara? I would love to know.

I would like to introduce you to Michelle Phan who is a makeup guru and she has a large following on YouTube. She now has her own makeup line and gives tutorials on her website on how to apply all sorts of makeup too. The link to see this concealer and her makeup line can be found here.
This is what the palette looks like and you can see that the concealer comes in many different shades. I like that there is an assortment of different colors because our skin color is different in the winter than in the summer, when you might need a darker or lighter shade underneath your eyes.
I was introduced to this new makeup by my daughter who watches YouTube videos to see how to apply makeup and she discovered her. Now I love her concealer and I am willing to try some of her other makeup that my daughter bought for me for Christmas. I will show you some more of her makeup in future posts. The shade that I'm using is called Fair and it's perfect for light coloring.
Included with the concealer was a sample of this CC cream and it comes in many different shades. These shades are - light, medium and deep.
Also included was a sample of lipstick in 2 shades - misty mauve and daredevil.
Don't forget to check back here next Monday to see what I will be sharing with you.

Hi everyone! How is the weather where you live? I know some of you have had a lot of snow and very cold temperatures where you live. It was so cold here in New York that for a few days it was only 9 and 10 degrees! Way too cold for me! We also had snow last weekend which dumped about 7 inches of snow. I decided to take a few photos of my yard and side garden after my wonderful husband got done shoveling the snow. I stayed inside and made soup for dinner. We still have patches of snow scattered in the yard that haven't melted yet and we are slowly coming out of the freeze. Take a look at some of my photos.
I spent many cold nights this week knitting in the warmth of my home. I'm almost finished knitting the blue scarf that I have been making and I will show you when I'm done. I hope you all enjoy the weekend and stay warm.
Don't forget to stop by on Monday for Makeup Monday where I will share with you makeup tips.

We had our annual Christmas Fair at our church back at the end of November and I didn't post about it because I didn't have a chance until now. I would love to share with you some of the projects that I made throughout the year that were sold at my table. You might even recognize some of the items from past blog postings.
I made this crocheted baby sweater and the post can be found here. The multi colored crochet baby blanket post can be found here.
Here are some crocheted scarves and cowls I made too. The white spots are stickers with the price on them. Do you recognize the light pink knit chunky scarf that I was working on (in the second picture on the left) it is one of the scarves that I had been knitting recently posted here.
Here are baby blankets and poncho sets that I crocheted. The post for the poncho set can be found here.
These are more items that I made such as bookmarks, a cup cozy and the post I did on the crocheted granny rectangle scarf can be found here.
These are some of the other items that were made by ladies in my crochet group. They sold their items they made at their own tables. I love the crocheted baby blankets.
This is a quilt that was sewn together by one of the ladies and it was raffled off to a lucky winner. In the lower photo are some scarves and hand warmers that were made too.

The Christmas Fair was a success and I look forward to making more items for our fair in the fall. I love looking back at some of the projects that I have made throughout last year. I also enjoy knitting and crocheting during the long winter months.

For Christmas I received the Naked Palette by Urban Decay and it came with eyeshadow primer and a makeup brush. The eyeshadow primer is good because it coats the eyes and makes the eyeshadow stay on longer. The eyeshadow includes a makeup brush and you can use this or your own brush if you like. The case includes 12 neutral colors from delicate champagnes to dark gritty gunmetal. The textures range from glitter and shimmer to matte. I love this eyeshadow palette and if you want to splurge a little than I would recommend this.
You can see the link here for the palette at Urban Decay.
