Hello blogging friends. I hope you are all having a nice day and week. I am writing this because I'm so frustrated and disappointed with google friend connect!
GOOGLE FRIEND CONNECT
There have been some changes with google and following people on GFC. Google now wants you to have a google account in order to follow other bloggers that way on google friend connect. I have lost many followers within the past few weeks and it's very frustrating to me since we bloggers work so hard on our blogs!!
To read more about google details and plans you can visit my post HERE. It's located in the middle of the page.
I used to have a google plus account, and I had many followers there, but it just started getting a little bit too weird for me! I think I deleted the account unfortunately. I guess I will have to open up a new account again with the help of my techie in the family. I am so mad and frustrated at myself for getting rid of the account.
I am so afraid that google will be getting rid of Google Friend Connect completely. Until I figure out this mess, you can always follow along with me on Bloglovin, by email, and Social Media, which are all located on my sidebar.
Thanks so much for all of your loyalty and support and for following along with me. If you have any suggestions or advice, please leave a comment in my comments area on the blog.
Take care and wishing you all a wonderful day and weekend.

Hi friends, I hope you all had a nice weekend. Our area was dumped with 26 inches of SNOW!! Way too snow much for me. We spent most of Sunday shoveling all of the snow. Unfortunately, I don't think this snow will be melting anytime soon. It was a great time for me to catch up on a little bit of crocheting.
Well, back in October I started working on this new crochet blanket and then I stopped. I didn't really have time or the ambition to continue working on it, as I was so busy during the holidays. My plan is to have this blanket made and finished for our annual Fall/Christmas Sale that we will have at my church for this fall.
I worked a little more on this blanket back in November but not too much progress had been made. What I have promised myself is that I will work on the blanket a little bit each day or night throughout the winter. Each colored section is 5 rows and I did about 15 rows the other day.
I love crocheting during the evening when the weather gets cold and I'm watching TV. It's an easy way for me to be creative, keep busy, and it's a great stress reliever.
The yarn I'm using was given to me to use by the person that runs our crochet group at my church. I just love the colors of the yarn, purple, green, and multi color, and I think this color combo will create a nice looking blanket.
Crochet Hook - US size H
Green yarn is by Red Heart - Frosty Green
Purple yarn is by Loops & Threads - Lavender
Multi yarn is by Loops & Threads - Fresh Lilac
For the pattern, I found it on Pinterest HERE. I made my chain of 90, and then I followed the rest of the directions for the pattern.
Do you have any winter projects that you are working on right now?
Thanks everyone and enjoy!

Hello friends, I hope you are having a nice week. I have a few beauty products that I'm enjoying right now, and I'd love to share them with you.
My three favorites beauty products are:
1) Nexxus - Comb Thru Touchable Hold - Finishing Mist
2) eos - evolution of smooth - Lip Balm - Blackberry Nectar
3) Clinique Chubby Stick - Baby Tint - 03 Budding Blossom
1) Nexus - Comb Thru Touchable Hold - Finishing Mist
I happen to have very fine and thin hair. In order for my hair to stay in place, and not have the fly aways, I use hairspray everyday. I've tried many different brands over the years and I really like this spray. It is has a light weight formula that holds, but doesn't leave your hair sticky or stiff. What I like about this hairspray, is that you are able to brush out your hair at the end of the day. I found this spray one day when I was shopping at a Wholesale Club and decided to give it a try. It was reasonably priced, and it should be available at most drug stores. It's also available at Ulta Beauty for $13.99. If you like using hairspray, then I would recommend you try this product.
2) eos - evolution of smooth - Lip Balm in Blackberry Nectar
I received this lip balm for Christmas and I enjoy using this to hydrate my lips. My lips get really dried out in the winter and I must use a lip balm during the day and night. What I like is that it also has a light grape flavor. These are available in fun shapes and colors, and they each have a different flavor. This lip balm is available in most drug stores and costs $2.99.
Thanks everyone and enjoy!

I also received this chubby stick for Christmas and I like using this with a light colored lip liner during the day. This is a lip balm that is tinted with a bit of color. I love how this product also moisturizes my lips. I like getting two products in one. You can also wear this chub stick without lipliner and have just a glossy look. This lip balm is available at Sephora, Macy's, Amazon, and in the makeup area of most department stores. The price for this lip balm is $17. I would recommend this if your don't like wearing a heavy lipstick during the day.
Have you tried any of these beauty products? Do you have any favorites that you like using now? I'd love to know.
Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Hello friends. Have you tried coloring with adult coloring books yet? Well, I received this coloring book from my Mom for Christmas. I love this coloring book as it's theme is Paris.
One evening recently, I decided to color a page out of the book, and I picked a page that featured pastries. I spent about an hour coloring and watching TV, and I really had a fun time and enjoyed myself. My mom also included crayons with the book and I used them to color the page. You can also use colored pencils if you have them. This is such a great stress reliever, relaxing, and you can have fun at the same time. If you want to purchase a book, they sell them at various places such as Michaels craft store, any wholesale warehouse store, Barnes & Noble book store, and Amazon. I have also noticed that if you google free coloring pages, their are pages to download online.
I hope I have convinced you to try this sometime. Have you done anything lately that was fun? I'd love to know.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Hello friends, I hope you are enjoying the week so far. Ok, again I did not have time to share with you these photos from Christmas, so I'm doing it now.
We all took a long drive to visit my Mom for Christmas. When we arrived, we let Bosco out of the car and I captured this photo. I love the way my Mom decorates the outside of her house for the holidays and Christmas. Look how festive the lamp post is decorated with the snow sled, a red bow, green garland, and a santa sign. There are pretty wreaths on the house too. The inside of her house was decorated just as beautiful. I did not capture any photos of that, as I just wanted to spend time enjoying myself and visiting with everyone.
This is the same photo of the house, but I used the Waterlogue app on my iPhone, to get this watercolor effect. Have you used this app before? If not, I suggest you try it sometime, as it's so much fun to use. I think this watercolor photo would make a nice card or enlarge the photo and make a picture to hang on the wall.
Thanks for stopping by and see you at the end of the week.

Hello everyone. Sorry, but I didn't have a chance to share this recipe with you until now. I hosted Thanksgiving at my house and to make things easy, I decided to make Crock Pot Mashed Potatoes. Have you ever made them before? Well these are so easy to make and in a few hours you can have them ready to eat.
You take the potatoes, and wash, peel, and cut them up into small pieces, and just add them to the crock pot.
Add chicken stock, butter, and chopped up garlic.
Set the crock pot on High for 3 to 4 hours and let them cook. When finished I added some milk and just mashed them up with a potato masher.
This is what they looked like when they were done.
This was so easy for me to make for a crowd of 9 people. I used a 5 pound bag of potatoes. We were able to have left overs for our guests and our selves.
For the recipe, I found it on Pinterest HERE.
NOTE: I did not have sour cream or Greek yogurt like the recipe called for and they still tasted great.
I am so happy I made the mashed potatoes this way, and everyone liked them. I liked that I was able to free up my stove for the other food I was cooking.
Have you ever made your mashed potatoes this way? If not you are going to love it!!
Thanks for stopping by and wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

I just had to share with you this funny photo I took of my dog Bosco over the holidays. Every year I get out the boxes of Christmas decorations and pull out the reindeer antlers. I usually wear them to get a laugh from everyone, but one day I decided to put them on Bosco instead. I love being silly sometimes, as the holidays can be a little bit on the stressful side. Bosco was so patient with me and he even let me wrap him up in his knitted blanket. We all had such a good laugh that day.
If you follow me on Instagram then you would have seen this cute photo of Bosco. I would love to have you join and follow me there to see some more photos I like to post! :)
Anyways I'm a little sad to see the holidays are already over, as I felt like the season went way too fast. I enjoyed visiting with both sides of our family, but we had to do a lot of traveling to accomplish that. I was so exhausted for a few days after Christmas. I rested a lot during that time and enjoyed watching some Christmas movies. Now that Christmas is over I have been taking down all of the decorations. I have boxes scattered all over the house that need to be put away and organized.
Have you noticed anything different with my blog? Yes, I have a new blog look. I wanted a new blog look for a while and I finally decided to update the look with something fresh and new. I hope you all enjoy it as I am still getting used to it.
There also seems to be a new change with Google Friend Connect that I wanted to let some of you know about if you haven't already heard. I recently lost a small amount of followers from GFC, and I was so upset about it, as I thought it was because of me. Well that was not the case, and here is what will happen with Google Friend Connect:
In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.
As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.
We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.
I hope that this will help explain some of the changes that will be happening with google. There are other ways of following my blog, such as Bloglovin, and by email, and you can find them on my sidebar.
I usually do not do a new word for the new year, but this year I decided to join the trend. My new word for this year is POSITIVE and that is what I'm going to strive to be.
Do any of you watch the British soap Downton Abbey? Well, I absolutely love watching it. The tv show started Sunday night for it's 6th and last season. I started watching the show a little late in it's 3rd season and I'm totally hooked on it. I enjoyed looking at all of the fashion and hairstyles of the women. The characters I like best are Lady Mary Crawley and Dowager Countess of Grantham, Violet. Do you have a favorite character? Well you'll know where to find me on Sunday nights. LOL!
Well that is basically a little recap of what has been happening with me. This week it's back to the same old routine. I am happy to start back to my Tuesday crochet group meeting and my once a month crochet group get together. I'm looking forward to this as it will help me get my crochet mojo back. I haven't crocheted anything since the end of November.
Thanks for stopping by and I will have a recipe to share with you at the end of the week.
