I made a Costco run last week as we were low on a lot of food. My husband always jokes about how I can't shop at Costco without buying some sort of clothing or shoes. LOL. This time we loaded up the cart with a lot of food and some items that weren't food. I'd love to share with you my finds.
I spotted this tie-die shirt that came in a lot of colors and it's made of moisture-wicking material. I thought it was a great buy for only $9.99. I can't wait to wear this t-shirt with leggings or jeans and it's perfect to wear for my workouts.
I thought this dress was a great buy for only $16 and it'll be perfect to wear this summer.
I already own a pair of these Birkenstock sandal dupes and I love them. These sandals come in black and tan and are very comfortable to wear. I bought another pair for $19 to wear for next year.
We like using these makeup wipes and I usually split them with my daughter.
My husband and I like these Impossible burgers for weeknight meals. They are easy to fry up and we like them with fries and a salad. My daughter is not a fan of these burgers. If we have a BBQ and have friends who don't eat meat we'll make them.
We bought another package of short ribs. I usually divide them up into two packages and put them in the freezer.
I love making the beef short ribs in the slow cooker for dinner.
We love this chicken taco kit and have had them a few times for dinner. It comes with everything you need to make tacos for lunch or dinner.
We love this Caesar salad kit. We usually have the salad at least two times.
This is our first time trying out these nacho chips and these are a winner.
Have you bought anything from Costco lately?
I posted this blog post back in 2013 after taking a trip to London, England. I thought I would repost this again since it's summertime.
This has got to be my favorite summer drink after taking a trip to London, England. My husband's friend Joe introduced us to this drink after sightseeing one afternoon with him and his wife in England.
SUMMER SHANDY RECIPE
Ingredients:
1 bottle/can beer - I used 8 oz. of Sapporo Beer - (You can use any beer you like)
4 oz. Sparking Lemonade Soda
Instructions:
The above picture has 8 oz. of beer and 4 oz. sparkling lemonade soda. Combine all the ingredients and garnish with a lemon wedge.
The pub is the white building which is located on the right after the blue building. We all sat outside the pub and enjoyed our Shandy drinks.
This drink is so refreshing on a hot summer evening. Enjoy!
Hello friends, now that summer is fast approaching and people will be taking vacations, I thought it'd be fun to do a This or That - Travel.
The photo above was from our vacation last summer to California.
HERE ARE MY ANSWERS:
1. City or Nature - I pick city as I like traveling and sightseeing in different cities.
2. Hotel or Motel - I like staying in a hotel as I feel like hotels are nicer to stay in than a motel.
3. Airplane or Train - I like taking an airplane when I'm traveling as I want to get where I'm going as fast as I can.
4. Suitcase or Backpack - On most of my trips I use a suitcase and a backpack. If it's a shorter trip then I will use a weekend bag.
5. Plan It or Wing It - When we travel we always plan our vacations.
6. Tourist Spot or Hidden Gems - We like doing a little bit of both when we travel.
You can play along and leave your answers in the comment section.
What will you pick?
Do you have any vacation plans coming up this summer?
Life has been busy for me lately and this will be a quick update on things around here.
My garden looked so pretty with the tulips and lily of the valley in bloom this spring. This past weekend I was able to finally do some gardening. We planted flowers and vegetables in the garden. I love planting pink geraniums and impatiens flowers. I can't wait to have fresh veggies and pesto from the basil that I grow in the garden.
Bosco has slowed down a lot lately. He is now 14 1/2 and he has high blood pressure. He is now on medication for it and will have to be on it for the rest of his life.
Bosco had his nail fall off when he was going up the stairs. He now has trouble going up our stairs and we have to help him along.
Bosco loves sleeping all day and he looks so comfy in his bed.
My husband is a huge hockey fan. We've gone to a few NY Ranger games. It's always fun when they score a goal.
We've also gone to a few New York Islanders hockey games.
For my birthday back in December, my husband bought tickets to see the comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. We weren't able to go because the show was postponed due to Covid. We finally were able to see him at the end of March. He put on a great show and we had a lot of laughs.
We went to a beautiful bridal shower and wedding on my husband's side of the family.
My nephew and wife had their baby boy christened. My nephew and my father both wore the same baby dress.
I went to another bridal shower and have another wedding coming up this Friday.
My husband made me eggs and toast for breakfast on Mother's Day. My daughter was still away at college so she sent me banana pudding and cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery. It was such a thoughtful gift and I loved the delicious tasting banana pudding and cupcakes.
We went a few times to help clean up and move my daughter's stuff out of her college house. We had lunch in the park and enjoyed this lovely view of Providence, Rhode Island.
I enjoyed drinking this Rhode Island yacht club diet cola.
My daughter had a few Hello Fresh meals that she wasn't going to be able to cook. She gave me the meals to bring home and cook. I'm impressed with the Hello Fresh meals. They include all the ingredients you need to make the meal with a step-by-step recipe card. The meals all take about 45 minutes to cook with the meal prep included. Each meal we had was delicious tasting and enough for 3-4 people.
Beef Bulgogi Meatballs
Tostadas Supremas with Pork
BBQ Cheddar Burgers with onions and roasted potatoes.
My daughter just graduated from Providence College's class of 2022. We are so thankful that my daughter was able to have a graduation ceremony considering everything that the kids had to go through with Covid. We are so proud of our daughter and all of the accomplishments she achieved during her years at college.
My daughter couldn't wait to wear her Love Shack Fancy dress for her graduation. We are all thankful that the graduation was held indoors with air conditioning as it was a 90-degree day.
Senior year my daughter lived a block off-campus in a house with four other people. She learned what it's like to live in a house with other people other than her family. She also had 2 jobs while going to school. Here she is with one of her roommates on the last day of living in her college house.
Wow, that's a lot of life lately!
