The Perfect Summer Day

August 11, 2013

My husband and I had the perfect day yesterday!  We both packed up sandwiches, snacks and drinks and headed early to the beach.  My daughter did not come because she went to stay at a friend's house for the weekend.  It felt so good to be at the beach together and I read some of my book The Shoemaker's Wife by Adriana Trigiani and magazines and my husband read the newspaper.  We were not able to go swimming because the water was too cold but it felt so good to sit and watch the ocean and just relax.  Here is what our perfect day looked like.

Now don't you all feel relaxed just looking at all these pictures?  Here are pretty flowers that I saw when I was walking my dog Bosco last night.  Soon there will be fall flowers planted and the season will change.

I feel a little sad because soon summer will be over and my daughter will be going back to school.  I do love the way everything is so care free in the summer, don't you?  I hope your weekend was as nice as mine.

Thanks everyone and enjoy.

Julie

  1. Just putting your toes in the sand is enough to make it a perfect day Julie. Glad you got away for a relaxing day. You will miss your daughter. Glad she's been there with you for the summer.

  2. Hi Julie,

A day at the beach, toes sunk in sand, the sniff of sea air and your sweetheart beside you...sounds pretty perfect to me!

  3. Dear Julie...what I wouldn't give to hear the sound of the waves and feel of sand between my toes again! It has been forever since the last time I've been to a beach...and I was born surrounded by the waters of the Pacific and Atlantic at the same time! Beautiful post...you made me long for home! Thank you for sharing and for visiting my blog! I truly appreciate it! Have a blessed week!
