Crochet Baby Blanket

August 19, 2013

For any of my new followers on my blog I would like to let you know that I work all year round crocheting and knitting items for our annual Fall and Christmas Fair at my church.  I attend a crochet/knit meeting every Tuesday morning for a get together for all the members in the group.  We all knit and crochet for the fair that is held the week before Thanksgiving every year.  We also make items for the poor and for hospitals.  I usually like to make scarves and baby blankets and I have belonged to this group for ten years now.

Our Christmas Fair at our church is approaching soon and I finished crocheting this baby blanket last week that I will give to sell at the fair.  This blanket is an extended granny square and I like the yellow, blue and pink colors because it can be used for a baby girl or baby boy.  I made it so that it will fit into a baby infant carrier or in the bassinet.

Look at the edging I crocheted on the end of the blanket.

Here is what the baby blanket looks like folded up.

The yarn I used is James C. Brett, Rio, Shade RT17, Dye 6025.

If you would like to make this blanket the post to make a granny square is HERE and you just  keep crocheting the granny square into a blanket.  I usually make 25 to 30 rows and then put a crocheted edge all the way around the blanket.

I love crocheting extended granny square baby blankets because they are an easy project for me to crochet while I am at my crochet meetings or watching TV.  I will be sharing more projects that I have made for the sale.  I hope I have inspired you in some way.

Thanks everyone and enjoy.

Julie
