Hello friends. I crocheted this baby vest and hat set, made for a girl or boy, and I wanted to share it with you.
I made this baby set, and I will donate it to be sold at our holiday crochet sale that we have each year at our church.
I added small light blue buttons to the hat and vest so that a baby girl or boy can wear it.
The hat was easy for me to crochet and I think it came out cute. The baby hat is made into a rectangle shape and then sewn together in the back. I made it so that it can be folded up at the bottom of the hat.
The pattern for the hat was made by one of the ladies that used to be in our crochet group. Sorry I do not have that pattern to share with you. I have a similar hat pattern that can be found HERE.
I found the pattern to make this crocheted baby jacket from favecrafts. To make your own crochet baby/tweed baby jacket or (vest as I made it), you can find the pattern HERE.
** NOTE - I did not use the yarn that they called for in the pattern for the jacket. The yarn I used is Caron Wintuck in the color FISHERMAN 3062. The sweater pattern had red buttons, but I made mine with light blue buttons.
This is my second baby outfit I've made, and I was so inspired to try and make this one. If you would like to see my first baby sweater you can read that post HERE.
I will have to say that this was difficult for me to crochet and I had trouble with it. I wanted to make this into a baby sweater, but I made it into a vest instead, because the sleeves were not coming out correctly. I had to rip it out too many times! I think it still looks cute as a vest, and I enjoyed crocheting the hat.
I am so glad that I pushed myself to be challenged to make this baby vest. Have you ever challenged yourself with any crochet or knit projects?
To see more of my crochet projects you can click HERE.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a nice end of the week and weekend!
Click HERE to see the great parties I will be linking up to!
Thanks everyone and enjoy!

Hi friends! I know some of you may still be thinking about summer or fall approaching, but I have another crochet infinity scarf and pattern to share with you. This scarf is fun to make using thick chunky yarn and a big crochet hook. It is the perfect scarf to keep you warm during the cold and snowy winter months.
EASY CROCHET INFINITY SCARF & PATTERN
Yarn: Lion Brand Yarn, Wool-Ease Thick & Quick
Color: Black 153
Crochet Hook: US Size K
Chain 90.
Half double crochet in second chain from hook and continue all the way to the end of the row. When you get to the end of row chain 2 and turn. Continue this way until the scarf measures 5 inches wide. When you get to the end, take both ends of the scarf and sew them together using the yarn and then fasten off.
* This infinity scarf will fit wrapped around your neck 2 times with these dimensions!
Note: This pattern is made in US terminology.
Hi friends, I would love to share with you this beautiful sweater my mom made for me. In the summer my mom said that she wanted to knit a sweater for me and I had fun picking out the yarn that she would use. I picked out the yarn and it is called Noro, Taiyo Col No. 7, Lot No. C. My mom and I found the pattern together and it's called #285 Pure & Simple Neck Down Swing Coat by Diane Soucy. If you are on Ravelry you can find the pattern there. The sweater is a swing coat and it's perfect for wearing in this cold weather that we are having right now.
The black buttons my mom used on the sweater are antique and I love the way it looks.
On the inside of the sweater near the neck my mom sewed in this cute label.
You can see here the label inside the sweater near the top of the neck and the pretty buttons.
Looking at the sweater you can see the different effects that the yarn has made. The yarn has made a stripe effect with many multi colors. I love that this sweater will go with anything I wear, either a top underneath the sweater or with any colored pants or jeans.
My mom gave me this sweater in November and I love wearing it. I have already gotten a lot of use out of wearing it due to the very cold weather we are having right now. Thanks so much mom for making this beautiful sweater for me, I just love it.
I think that this is how I became inspired to learn how to knit and crochet from my moms love of knitting. My mom learned to knit when she was only 11 years old by an aunt. Since then my mom has made so many wonderful creations such as socks, scarves, and sweaters. My mom also made for me a beautiful knitted felted handbag and you can see that here. I think that my mom is really talented and creative and I just love that.
My mom and aunt Mary taught me how to knit one summer in 2009 and I also took a class at the Lion Brand Yarn Studio. The Lion Brand Yarn Studio gives lessons in knitting and crocheting and the classes are small and you get the one on one attention that is so vital in learning a craft.
I hope I may have inspired you in some way to take a class in knitting or crocheting if you want to learn a new craft. It's so much fun once you learn either one.
Have a nice weekend everyone and see you on Monday for my Makeup Monday Series.
Thanks everyone and Enjoy!

I have been busy crocheting mini wreath ornaments for family and friends for Christmas this year. This is a simple ornament pattern that I designed and would love to share with you. Won't these look great on your Christmas Tree?
You can even use them to go along with a gift tag on a present. You can have these made in no time and they are fun to make. For this pattern I used kitchen cotton, but you could use acrylic yarn if you like or have on hand.
Crochet Christmas Wreath Ornament Pattern
Crochet Hook: US size G or H
Yarn: Lily Sugar 'n Cream Cotton - Color: Dark Pine and Red Rouge Rojo
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch

I hope I have inspired you to make this fun mini wreath ornament for Christmas.
Hi everyone. Now that the weather is getting colder I would love to share with you a simple infinity scarf pattern.
This crochet scarf works up quickly and it's so easy to crochet because thick chunky yarn is used. The best part about crocheting this scarf is that you only need one skein of yarn to make this scarf.
Here is what the scarf looks like rolled up. The yarn is really a cranberry color but the camera made the color look more pink!

Here are the various stages of making the crocheted infinity scarf and sewing the ends together.

Below you can see what the scarf looks like rolled up and also laid out straight.

This is what the infinity scarf looks like on. This scarf is more like a neck warmer and is worn tight to the neck. If you make this one skein infinity scarf below is what it should look like.

Happy Fall everyone! Sunday is the first day of Fall and I decided to show you the mini pumpkins that I crocheted. I made these last year to decorate my mantel and they were so fast and easy to make. You all know how much I love fast and easy patterns to crochet.
Thanks everyone and enjoy.
Julie
The pattern to make these mini pumpkins is from Sarah at Repeat Crafter Me. I also plan to crochet more of them and I want to make larger pumpkins using gold and white yarn that I have.
I hope that I have inspired you to make one! They were fun to crochet and you can use whatever yarn you like and color too.
Thanks everyone and enjoy.

Hello everyone, I just finished crocheting this dishcloth from the 52 Weeks of Dishcloths that Jill from Being Spiffy is hosting.
The pattern for the dishcloth is HERE. This chevron dishcloth is from Week 19 of the 52 Weeks of Dishcloths. I had fun crocheting this and the pattern isn't too difficult to make.
The pattern has increase and decrease in it to form this pretty chevron pattern.
The yarn I used to make this dishcloth is from Lion Brand Yarn, kitchen cotton in the color 174 Olive. How about making this fast and pretty dishcloth?

I needed a new sunglass case for my sunglasses and I decided to crochet one myself. Here is an easy pattern to crochet that I designed myself. It was so fast and easy to make and I had a lot of fun. Why not give it a try and let me know how it comes out!
Crochet Sunglass Pattern
Yarn: 1 Skein of Lily Sugar & Cream
Color: Playtime
Crochet Hook: US size I
sc = single crochet
Chain 20
Row 1 - sc in 3rd chain from hook & all the way across to the end, ch 1 turn
Row 2 - sc in next sc & all the way across to end, ch 1 turn - 18 sc
Row 3 - Repeat until the piece measures 6 1/2 inches.
Fasten off and do not cut the yarn, you will need to leave enough yarn to sew two sides together.
Fold the piece in half. Take long piece of the yarn and sew the two sides up on the wrong side.
Turn inside out and done.
Option: If you want to you can weave in at the top of the sunglass case with yarn to make a pull string.
At the top here you will weave in the end. At the other end you will leave the yarn long so you can sew up the sides of the sunglass case.

Back in April I knitted this scarf for my daughter and I would like to share with you this simple knit pattern that I have designed. I knitted this scarf with very large knitting needles and it makes the stitches come out large. The yarn is also light and very soft because baby yarn is used and it will make the perfect scarf to wear for Spring or Summer.

Julie

SIMPLE KNITTED SCARF PATTERN
Yarn: 1 skein Lion Brand Yarn, Baby's First - Color: Sea Sprite
Needles: US 17 - 12.75mm and US 35 - 19.0mm
Notion: Tapestry Needle
1. Make a slip knot near the end of the yarn.
2. Cast on 15 stitches using the size US 17 knitting needle and knit 4 rows.
3. For the rest of the scarf use the size US 35 knitting needle, and knit each row until you reach near the end of the yarn. *Make sure you leave yourself enough yarn to knit 4 more rows with the smaller knitting needle.
4. Switch to the size US 17 knitting needle and knit 4 rows.
5. Cast off and weave in the ends of both sides of the scarf.
Please Note: For the color choice in the baby yarn you could use a dark color such as navy blue, black or brown for fall and wither.
Please try out this simple pattern and have fun with it!
Back in March I attended Brooklyn Craft Camp hosted by Brett Bara from the TV show Knit and Crochet Now. One of the crafts I signed up for was to make a Knitted Chunky Cowl and here is the pattern to make one.
Here is the Noro yarn that I use to make the knitted cowl.
This is what the cowl looks like laid out flat on a table.

Thanks everyone and enjoy.

A few days ago I came across a tweet I saw on Twitter from Jill Swensen who's blog is see the link Being Spiffy and is hosting 52 Weeks of Dishcloths. When I saw this I became interested and thought that she had a great idea. My mom used to use dishcloths all the time to wash her dishes and it made me think that using a dishcloth is a great idea. With a dishcloth you can just throw it into the washing machine and clean it. Well Saturday morning I went to Michaels and bought the yarn and came home and made one in about 2 hours. I used the whole skein but for the next I will use half the yarn and make 2 dishcloths. For the details pop on over to www.beingspiffy.com and maybe you might be interested in crocheting one for your kitchen. How about being green?
For this pattern I used the pattern from Week 1 - Bubblegirl - Dishcloth pattern. I used Sugan 'n Cream yarn in the color: Mod Ombre (you can use any color you like) and it costs $1.99, you can't beat that price! So lets get started and have some fun. They would make great gifts also. Here are some pictures of my dishcloth.
This link to make this dishcloth can be found HERE.
Thanks everyone and enjoy.

Last week I went to my Crochet Group at my church and my friend Rachel taught me how to crochet a baby hat. I crocheted it in 30 minutes and the pattern even had decrease in it. This week she was nice enough to sit with me and teach me how to crochet a baby poncho from a pattern she had. I worked on it for about an 1 1/2 hours at the meeting yesterday. When I got home I was so excited to be learning something new that I finished the poncho last night! I now have a completed baby hat and poncho set that I will be giving to the Christmas Fair our church has in the fall. I have learned two new patterns in the past 2 weeks and I will be making more sets through the rest of the year for the sale because they gave me more yarn to use. I will also be able to make a set for someone in our family if they have a baby.
I love learning new patterns and I am happy that my friend Rachel was willing to sit with me and teach me.
Thanks everyone and enjoy.
