Hi everyone. Now that the weather is getting colder I would love to share with you a simple infinity scarf pattern.
This crochet scarf works up quickly and it's so easy to crochet because thick chunky yarn is used. The best part about crocheting this scarf is that you only need one skein of yarn to make this scarf.
Here is what the scarf looks like rolled up. The yarn is really a cranberry color but the camera made the color look more pink!
Here are the various stages of making the crocheted infinity scarf and sewing the ends together.
Sewing together Infinity Scarf |
Below you can see what the scarf looks like rolled up and also laid out straight.
This is what the infinity scarf looks like on. This scarf is more like a neck warmer and is worn tight to the neck. If you make this one skein infinity scarf below is what it should look like.
Crochet Infinity Scarf Pattern
Yarn: 1 skein of Lion Brand Yarn, Wool-Ease Thick & Quick
Color: Cranberry 138
Crochet Hook: Size K - US
Stitches Used: Chain and Half Double Crochet
Make 80 chains and then half double crochet in second chain from hook and continue all the way to the end of the row. When you get to the end of the row chain 2 and turn and continue this way until the scarf measures 5 inches wide. When you get to the end, take both the ends of the scarf and sew them together using the yarn and then fasten off.
Note: This pattern is made in US terminology.
I hope you like this pattern and please have fun making this crocheted infinity scarf. You will have a great scarf to wear for the winter.
Julie

ReplyDeleteLove that color. I made a teal one last year and had to stop myself from wearing it everyday. It just makes you feel so warm and cozy. I'm going to have to find some Cranberry color yarn. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie,

You're very talented Julie! When I was in high school, many, many years ago, I started to make a crochet blanket. I never finished it, which is completely unlike me because I usually always finish what I start, but I just couldn't seem to get the loops tight enough. It's definitely an art!
ReplyDeleteI see you're a fellow NY'r. Brooklyn?
I'm going to show this to my mother! She is really good at these things!

Very nice Julie, infinity scarfs are fun, thanks for sharing! I hopped over from Moogly, M.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a photo of what this looks like on someone? I made one, but it looks really awkward on me. I am a beginner, so I think it's just me. But a photo would be excellent!
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa, I have included a photo of what the scarf should like on. I hope this helps you out.

Very pretty! I used to know how to crochet, but I've long forgotten. I need to re-teach myself, though! Thanks for linking up at Creative Spark last week. Hope you'll join us again tomorrow - the party starts at 6am EST!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love pretty one skein patterns. Thanks so much for sharing! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good looking scarf, Julie. I bet that bright pink looks great against the snow!
ReplyDeleteCan you use other brands of yarn? I usually use Red Heart brand.
ReplyDeleteYes you can try out Red Heart yarn for this scarf. The scarf might come out in a different gauge though.
