Hello friends and happy June.
This link-up is held on the first Wednesday of each month.
LOVING: Grill Season. I'm happy that it's time for grill season. We've been grilling, steaks, chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs on the weekends for dinner. My favorite sides are corn on the cob and pasta salad.
DOING: Gardening. I've planted in my yard plants and flowers. I planted pink geraniums, pink impatient plants, herbs, and lettuce. I can't wait to use the romaine lettuce for my salads. I also have growing a tomato plant, kale, peppers, and eggplant. We also planted some watermelon. It'll be fun to see how well everything grows.
TRYING: Crocheting. I'm trying to crochet another market bag. I am using this free crochet pattern to make my bag. Last year I made this crocheted bag and I had fun making it. I decided to make another market bag to use for the beach and pool this summer.
SEEING: Stray cat. We've been seeing this stray cat that comes to visit us every so often for the past few years. We love this cat and my daughter named her Gracie. She is so cute but she is afraid of people.
READING: The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley. I just started reading this book and I like this thriller already. I also read the Guest List by this author and I liked that mystery also.
Jess needs a fresh start. She’s broke and alone, and she’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up – to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this? – he’s not there.
The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother’s situation, and the more questions she has. Ben’s neighbors are an eclectic bunch, and not particularly friendly. Jess may have come to Paris to escape her past, but it’s starting to look like it’s Ben’s future that’s in question.

Thanks for linking up with us today! I love that market bag you're working on. I also love grilling season! We love using ours during this time of year, and I am enjoying hamburgers with no bun for the moment. My tastes change, but I can't get enough of that for the moment. I love grilled veggies too! I love to do squash and zucchini on the grill.
ReplyDeleteThat market bag is so cute. I am a big fan of grilling season too. So much easier to prepare dinners. Happy Thursday. Have a great day, Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteI read The Paris Apartment not that long ago and am currently making my way through The Guest List! I have a crochet bag that my mom made for me that I use at the beach and I love it. Good luck with your new bag. We are loving grilling season too!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to add that book to my list. It sounds good! Your garden is looking great! My veggies and flowers are starting to look good and fill in. I love that crochet bag you're working on. Gracie is adorable! I like that she visits you guys. Was she friendly with Bosco?
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Currently. I love that bag. One of these days I'd like to try to make one. Currently I'm crocheting a baby blanket. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI like grilling, too, Julie and did some salmon on a grill mat that I have. I’m also working on a 40th birthday photo album for my youngest son. What a job to go through all those years of pictures, but many memories, too.
ReplyDeleteWe have a grill and outdoor kitchen in the new house and I can't wait to use it all summer long! Thanks for the book recommendation!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the grill seasoning as well! Your plants are looking good. Looking forward to seeing how the watermelon grows. We were thinking of planting watermelon too but lets see. The book you've read sounds interesting and I might just need to go to the bookstore today, hehe. Have you found anything interesting in Costco lately?
ReplyDeletePing, I love that it's grilling season and we don't have to use the oven! I haven't been to Costco but I need to get there soon. Thanks for the visit and enjoy the end of the week and weeknd.
DeleteYour garden is coming along beautifully! Love the crochet bag--very handy
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat. I'm excited to see if I'll get any veggies. I am hoping the bag comes out nice.
DeleteYour gardening looks so nice - I don't get any sun ( just evening ) on our patio and miss having a big pot of herbs! I liked The Paris Apartment....creepy, but good. Have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I'm glad some of the plants and veggies are coming along. Yes, I agree that the book was a little creepy but I'm glad it had a good ending. Enjoy the weekend.
DeleteAlways fun to catch up, Julie! Love the market bag and that book sounds very fun. It reminds me of Only Murders In The Building! Enjoy the week and hopefully this smoke clears for the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe Paris Apartment sounds really good. I'm currently sorting through the tons of pictures I took on a trip to Barcelona last week. I'm reading Flying Solo by Linda Holmes. Have a great weekend, Julie!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute market bag. Grilling is wonderful in the hot summer months. Happy gardening Julie. It is so full filling.
