Hello Spring 2020

March 19, 2020

Hello blog friends.

Happy First Day of Spring!

Spring is one of my favorite seasons and I love the sunny days and pretty flowers blooming in my gardens.  This will be the first spring that I won't be able to enjoy it freely because of the coronavirus.  I usually like to go to a large garden center to pick out all of my flowers and vegetables.  I probably won't go because of the large crowds of people.

Luckily, I have a neighbor who is going to help me map out and plan my container gardening by planting seeds.  I will probably buy my seeds and trays online.

I want to plant tomatoes, peppers, and lettuce.  I also want to plant flowers that are easy to grow from seeds.

Bosco and I like getting out for our walks in the neighborhood. We've been careful and we are practicing social distance.  Bosco is the lucky one and doesn't have to worry about anything except to be loved by his family.

Enjoy your first day of spring.

  1. I'm looking forward to the flower popping up around the garden. I already have a few daffodils. That's nice you can get out for walks with Bosco. I'm sure it helps during this time to have that sweet guy around.

Thank goodness for the perennials bursting out and blooming right now to brighten our days and help to keep our spirits up!

  5. Cherries have started blossoming here and they are quite a sight! With all the people huddled at home, it is really enjoyable listening to the silence and the birds chirping!

  7. Happy Spring, Julie! Things are changing so quickly it's hard to consider how all the changes are going to affect our lives. I hadn't considered not getting my plants at my local plant store. Hmm. I can grow most of my veggies from seed but not my tomatoes and cabbages. May have to see if I can order those plants online. Good luck on growing your flowers from seed! Natives are great!! Z

  8. What lovely flowers! It's a shame you can't go out but good you can still order things online, and you're able to do social distancing. We are having to do social distancing here too, it's a strange new world!

Hope that your week is going okay with everything happening right now!

  14. Enjoy these walks with Bosco and bask in the beautiful spring gardens, Julie! We are forbidden to go out in Spain since social distance didn't work. Your pictures brightened up my 10th self-isolation day. Stay safe!
