How am I Doing During Covid-19?

March 27, 2020

Hello blog friends.

I hope you're all well and staying safe during this coronavirus.

I have been asked by some of my blog buddies and friends on social media how I'm doing?  I just wanted to give a quick update.

I'm good and dealing with being inside and being quarantined.  I haven't been out to any stores since Tuesday when I went early in the morning to buy food.  I don't go outside unless it's necessary.  I have plenty of food and other supplies I need.

I like to go on quick walks from time to time with my dog Bosco.  During this difficult time, it's so nice to have a dog to love and keep us company.

I also belong to a gym and while it's closed, I am doing Zumba classes on Zoom with the gym instructor and my gym friends.  Doing these dance classes are helping me to stay in shape and sane.

I also had time to crochet a scarf, and I'll show it to you soon.  I try to read my book when I have time, and I've been cooking a lot these past few weeks.  We are having fun making Starbucks coffee and espresso at home each day.

I have my husband working remotely from home for the past two weeks and will continue to do so.  I'm happy he is home and staying safe.

I have my daughter home from college taking her classes online until the end of the semester.  She left school for home a few weeks ago for her spring break without cleaning out her dorm room.  Everyone thought they would return to college to finish the semester.  She is good and dealing with all of this considering that she wasn't able to go back to school.  She will return to her college in Rhode Island to pack up everything at the end of April.

I have a full house right now, but I'm so grateful that we are healthy and all together.

I miss all of the things I used to do freely, and I look forward to when things will be back to normal.

I hope you all stay safe and healthy.

Julie xo

  1. It's not easy staying home, but definitely necessary. I have a full house too, kids with online college classes etc. This is my daughter's senior year and there won't be any graduation. It's upsetting but trying to stay healthy is most important, so she understands. Take care.

  2. I am so glad to hear that you and your loved ones are doing well and coping as best that you can with all that is going on there. It is so worrisome and I pray that you continue to stay healthy and safe. It's good that you are getting out a bit with your sweet little dog and I'm sure your family appreciates all your delicious home cooking. Sending hugs xo Karen

  4. You are doing everything right Julie. I am so glad with you living in New York that is really hit the hardest. These next two weeks all areas are ramping up with this virus hitting so many. So if we can all just stay put at home and follow the rules we can cut down the exposure and get this virus under control. Love seeing sweet Bosco's sweet face. Stay safe sweet friend. xoxo

  5. Glad you are doing well, Julie. My son is also home from college. He seems to be taking it pretty well, considering. I haven't been anywhere in 10 days, except for walks around the neighborhood. I really cherish the sunny days now. I can't believe that this is our reality now! Stay healthy!

  6. It's good you have your family at home with you and you are finding ways to fill the time :) We are going out to the supermarket less as well, but with the kids being home from school I'm trying to juggle teaching them and working from home - and on the days I don't have to work from home I need to keep the kids quiet so hubby can work from home! Definitely an adjustment for us!

Hope that you are having a nice weekend :) It's another quiet one at home here.

  7. I guess we all try to fill the time in the day. Although, actually I'm very busy cleaning, ironing, washing, cooking and baking sometimes... and blogging, it's more fun.
We don't go out at all. We order food from our local supermarket and the Pharmacy if needed.
Please keep safe and pray a lot for a cure or vaccine.

  8. I’m used to going to the gym everyday , Julie, and like you, I’m doing videos now. I don’t mind being in, and keep pretty busy. We will have to keep praying for an end to this pandemic. It’s not easy staying away from friends and family, and seems so unnatural for all of us. Take care, Julie 😘.

  10. It's nice to have my husband home too. We are looking forward to it warming up a little so we can sit out on the deck. The fresh air feels really good these days! I am glad that you and your family are well. xo Deborah

  11. I'm feeling the same as you Julie! I'm missing my old life, cooking a lot, have a full house and I'm going a little stir crazy. Walks outside help (I wish I had a Bosco!). We're doing our part to flatten the curve.
