Makeup Monday - Nail Art

February 23, 2015

Welcome to Makeup Monday on Julie's Lifestyle.  I will post about a certain type of makeup, nail polish, face or hair product etc.  It will be a fun place to come visit about anything to do with beauty.

Week 34 - Nail Art

Hi friends, nail art is all the rage and there are so many different designs that are popular.  There so many different companies making bright colored nail polishes such as the aqua and navy nail polish as shown above.

I love wearing bright colored nail polish in the summer and when I'm wearing opened toed sandals or flip flops.  I love wearing a little bit of sparkle on both of my ring fingers.  It's a pretty look and does not look too over the top for me.  Spring and summer are the perfect time to try out different styles.

I have a few blog friends that are very talented at painting their nails and doing nail art.

There is T'onna from Navy Wifey Peters Aboard the USS Crafty.

There is the talented Liz from Rose Vignettes and she posts on her blog Manicure Monday and you don't want to miss that!

There is a popular product out now called Jamberry Nails and Kim from Exquisitely Unremarkable did a wonderful blog post about them.  They are nail wraps and no polish is involved which is perfect if you don't like the smell of nail polish.

I hope you enjoyed Makeup Monday today.  Have you ever had a nail art manicure or pedicure?  I did during the holiday's when I had a gel manicure.   I had them add sparkle on my ring fingers.  (Next time I will make sure I take a photo to show you).

Thanks for stopping by and see you all next time for Makeup Monday.

  2. Julie, thanks for the shout out! I love pretty nails, too. I had stopped doing mine for a long time, but now that I have found a way to have fun nails, I have started pinning manicures and paying attention to fads again. Fun post!

  6. Oh my, your nails are so pretty. I'm afraid all I can manage these days is to keep my nails filed and to use cuticle cream. I'm pretty basic. LOL

  7. Those nails are pretty. And my daughter got the musical notes from Jamberry quite some time ago now. They were cute as could be, and she's really good at that kind of thing (she's artsy) so they came out nice. :)

  12. Those are some fun colors, Julie. I don't do my fingernails because they chip too quickly, but I do love polish on my toenails, which seems to last.
My comments haven't been getting emailed to people, but they show up on their blog. I'm not sure why or what's happening, or what to do.

  13. I should try those nail wraps. I have some, but haven't put them on. It seems I am getting a reaction to nail polish now -- I have a nail that keeps splitting and polish seems to make it worse. Or maybe it's the dryness of the remover? Anyway, I love beautiful nails. At least I can put polish on my toes; it doesn't seem to cause any problems there.
Have a good day, Julie. I hope you are staying warm!

  16. I haven't worn nail polish in years...I seem to be hard on my nails - digging for hermit crabs and such in the summer, digging in the dirt...but this makes me entertain the idea!

  27. Hi Julie! I am terrible about doing my fingernails but always keep my toenails done in the warmer months. I will have to check into the Jamberry thing - they seem to have some cute stuff and it seems to wear well from what I hear.
