I'm taking five minutes of my day to share five things:
1) I love looking at magazines occasionally and I have a new one that I'm trying out. It's called REAL SIMPLE Life Made Easier. I really like the articles they share and it has a little bit of everything such as makeup, fashion and recipes to name a few. This is my way of relaxing a little bit during the day or evening.
2) I love my dog Bosco and he is so adorable when he is relaxing or sleeping in his bed. He sometimes pushes his cushion in such funny ways like he is doing in this photo.
3) I love going to the book store and looking at all the various non fiction and fiction books out at Barnes & Noble Book Store. I used to read all the time and then stopped once I started crocheting, knitting, and blogging. I decided last summer to get back into reading books again and I'm so glad that I did. I love the books that my blog friends recommend to read too.
4) I love going out to eat at different restaurants and here I have a crab hand roll that I had for lunch that was just amazing.
5) One of my favorite things is bright colored cotton yarn. I am in love with this cotton hemp yarn from Martha Stewart Crafts and it's by Lion Brand Yarn. This color yarn is called Heather Flower. I love making crocheted dishcloths and cup cozies with this cotton yarn. Using bright colored yarn makes me happy.
I will be sharing this with Amy from Love Made My Home for her Five on Friday link party that she is hosting.
Such lovely things! I really like the colour of your yarn, how fantastic and cheery is that! The way that dogs ruckle up their beds is so funny isn't it, they work for ages to get them into what they feel is a comfy position, but it looks totally uncomfortable to us! They do make me laugh. Thank you so much for joining in! xx
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun thing to do and I loved reading 5 new (to me) things about you! Thank you for sharing and have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun five you have here, Julie. I went back to reading this last year, too. I love to read xo Diana
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Julie! Curled up in bed with a big floppy pillow ... yep, I think Bosco has the right idea on how to beat the winter cold! I started reading all my old books again. Some of them I haven't read for so long that I can't remember what happens, so it's like they're all new to me. I used to love reading through magazines too, but find the price of them these days is so high. I'll only buy one if it looks like I can get a lot of use out of the craft ideas. Enjoy your day, and I hope the sun is shining as brightly there as it is here (but the extreme cold warning has not yet been lifted). Wendy
ReplyDeleteAww it's easy to see why you love Bosco. :) I love looking around the bookstores too! And brightly colored year. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your 5 things Julie especially that pink yarn I'm thinking it's time I made more dishcloths. Bosco is so cute! I'm loving the Ros Harbour series you recommended I'm really in there with the characters. Have a great weekend. :) xx
ReplyDeleteJulie, I love a lot of the same things you do! I actually got a gift card to B&N recently and I can't to go hang and browse! :)
ReplyDeleteNice list, Julie :-) I love to look at books at Barnes and Noble, too, and I can't resist bright, pretty yarn. Bosco is so cute :-)
ReplyDeleteA great five things, love the colour of that yarn
ReplyDeleteClare
Lots if goodness in this post with some happy thrown in too! Love it! Have a lovely weekend Julie...:)
ReplyDeleteI love that pretty pink yarn....I'll look for it! Enjoy your weekend my friend! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteFabulous fives, Julie :) Your crab roll {which I have never heard of} looks amazing! And your yarn is such a happy color. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteJulie, I really like this post and getting to know what you're favs are. The crab rolls looks so yummy. Will have to try that or something similar when we go out to eat next time. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteA fun post, Julie - I love 'Real Simple' magazine, too. The yarn is a beautiful color. I love going to book stores and libraries. I could spend hours there. You will have to link up with a new blogger book club I just joined...http://springtimeinmagnolia.blogspot.com/....you can read reviews from fellow bloggers and post your own. xo Karen
ReplyDeleteI too stopped all reading once crochet took over but am slowly clawing the reading time back. Have not heard if this magazine. Will look out for it. Love the pink cotton yarn too
ReplyDeleteExcept for the yarn (it's pretty but you know I don't knit) my list would look identical. It makes me sad that so many bookstores, including B&N are closing. Real Simple has been a fav of mine for years. That article on the cover sounds interesting ;).
ReplyDeleteWe have a bookstore in town that's full of wonderful books, a little train for children to sit on and read, leather sofas and little nooks and crannies. Just lately the owner has said she is retiring and this means that this shop will probably turn into a corporate store of some kind. So sad! You have a lovely five on Friday there xx
ReplyDeleteLovely bright yarn, hot pink is one of my absolute favourite colours. Thanks for sharing your five on friday :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice five on Friday, was a great insight into you and what you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteBosco, that's a great name for a dog! Lovely Five on Friday, Julie. Have a good week :-) x
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that crab roll looks amazing! It has been too long since I have eaten something like that, because my kids all protest. I think it is time for a date night and some good old crab rolls!
ReplyDeleteBosch looks all snug and contented and much loved :) #weekendbloghop
ReplyDeleteBosco even (I'm blaming auto correct!)
DeleteGreat list. Such a nice way to introduce yourself too :-)
ReplyDeleteThat bright yarn made me smile.
Hope you've had a lovely weekend! #WeekendBlogHop
