Easter Bunny Cake

April 4, 2014

With Easter approaching in two weeks I wanted to share with you a fun and easy Easter Bunny Cake!  I made this cake last year with my daughter and we had so much fun decorating the cake.

Here is what you will need to make the Bunny Cake:

1 Box of Betty Crocker Super Moist Cake Mix - Yellow
1 can of cake frosting - White
food coloring - a few drops of red and blue (to make purple)
jelly beans
1 3-D Bunny Pan

Make the cake according to the directions on the box.  Then add the cake batter to the bunny pan.  When cake is done take out of the oven and let cool before decorating the cake with the frosting.  Mix in a bowl the cake frosting and a few drops of red and blue food coloring.  Spread frosting all over the bunny cake on both sides and then add the jelly beans.

You can add or use whatever you like to decorate the cake.  You can even use coconut with green food coloring to make grass all around the bunny.

I hope I have inspired you to try this fun and easy way to make an Easter Bunny Cake.

  4. This reminds me of the time my son asked me to bake him a bunny cake. I was surprised b/c it was his 10th birthday party with his friends, and I would have thought he would have thought that not cool. When I brought it out, he was so embarrassed -- he had meant a carrot cake!! lol Love your cake.

  5. Super cute! My mother in law gave me a 3D bunny pan a few years ago, but I could never get my bunny to stand up straight like yours is! He always flopped over. That's ok, he still tasted yummy! :)

  9. Just in time for Easter Julie, this looks great fun! This also made me smile after visiting Mumsy today and she had 'experimented' making blancmange and using an Easter bunny mould. I think I'll leave the story there, it would be best!!
