Ambrosia Salad

October 8, 2013

Hello friends, I wanted to share with you a fun and easy recipe for Ambrosia Salad.  We had friends over during the summer for a BBQ and they brought with them this salad.  My recipe is a little different from what we had, and it's so good and it reminds me of the dessert my mom used to serve our family when I was little.

With the holidays approaching soon this would make a perfect dessert to serve.

Ambrosia Salad

10.5 oz. bag mini marshmallows
8 oz. container light sour cream
15 oz. can fruit cocktail
15 oz. can peach halves

Gently toss all the ingredients together and cover salad and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

Here are some suggestions that you may like to add or change to this recipe:

 flaked coconut
seedless grapes
slivered almonds
mandarin oranges
pineapple chunks

This is a recipe that grown ups and children will love and they can even help you make this.

Thanks everyone and enjoy.

Julie

    1. Hi Lizy, I don't like mayo or miracle whip either and mayo does not agree me. This should do the trick and it really does taste good. Enjoy.

  5. Hi Julie,

Yes! This does bring back memories of my childhood, too! A Hungarian friend's mother used to make it for us when we visited her cottage in the summer, very cool and sweet! Loved the syrup from the peaches!

    Have a sweet week, yourself!

  11. This is my favorite except that I also add any flavor jello, pineapples, pecans, and cool whip. You should try it that way. Glorious! I found you thru the social hop and am now following by Google, Bloglovin, and GFC. Hope you can return the favor. BTW, great name!
