Hello blog friends and Happy October!
I love decorating my mantel each year for fall. When it comes to decorating the inside of my house I'm a traditional girl. I like using the autumn colors of the leaves with orange, brown, and white on the mantel. I've been decorating my mantel this way for many years now and I never get tired of the way it looks.
The painting seen over the mantel was painted by me many years ago when I was in high school. It is a scene of a church in the woods over looking the water during the fall.
I first put on the mantel a strand of faux leaves that I purchase many years ago at a dollar store. I also added to the mantel some mini pumpkins that were purchased from the Dollar Tree store.
I also added the Happy Fall pumpkin that was also purchased at Michaels. I added to the ends on opposite sides of the mantel little fall tins from Michaels.
Next, I added these crocheted mini pumpkins that I made back in 2013 to the mantel.
I found the pattern to crochet these at the blog Repeat Crafter Me. If you would like to make these mini crochet pumpkins, you can find the pattern here.
Let's get creative and craft!

Hello blog friends and Happy Friday.
September seemed to fly by so fast I can't believe it's already the start of October.
I have my Friday Favorites - October Edition:
1. Yoga Lessons
I started taking outdoor Yoga lessons in August and I'm enjoying yoga. Doing the yoga helps me if I'm feeling stressed or anxious and it's seems to calm me down. It is also helping me stretch and strengthen my body which needs help. We will be doing the lessons outside until the weather gets cold.
2. New Yarn and Crochet Project
Here is a sneak peek at a new crochet project I started working on this week. This is another project my daughter picked out for me. This pattern I'm working on consists of working in the round, changing yarn colors, and I'm hoping this project will come out looking good. I'm having fun crocheting and working with blanket yarn.
3. New Craft Supplies
I recently ordered some new crafting supplies online from JOANN. I am excited to use my new glue gun for crafting!
4. Dunkin Snack
I was happy when I recently went to Dunkin' Donuts. I had coffee and two mini stuffed bagels for a snack. I like to treat myself every once in a while with a small treat.
5. Cookies from a Neighbor
My neighbor loves cooking delicious food and baking cookies. She recently came over and surprised my family with these delicious spice cookies. It was so nice and thoughtful of her to think of our family.
6. Taking Bosco to the Vet
I had to take Bosco to the vet this week because he kept shaking his head and scratching his ear. He has an ear infection and he will be on the medication for two weeks. Hopefully this cutie will be feeling better soon.
7. Sweater Weather
One of the things I love about fall is Sweater Weather. If you need some inspiration for sweater fashion, stop by Living on Cloud Nine and Preppy Empty Nester blogs.
Wishing you all a Happy Friday and weekend.

Hello blog friends. I had a request about two months ago from my daughter to crochet her a stuffed animal. I'd never made a stuffed animal before and I knew this would be a new crochet challenge for me.
Some of you might remember that I've made in the past a crocheted apple and crocheted mini pumpkins.
For those of you that are not familiar with Appa he is a flying bison from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
From the start of this crochet project, I had a small problem trying to read the pattern. I was happy to have help from my crochet and knitting friends from Instagram @mayakuzman and @alhanaart.
This project was pretty involved with a lot of small pieces to crochet and I worked a little bit on him each day. It took me about a month to crochet him and I love the way he came out.
I'm happy I had a crochet project to work on for my daughter and she loves Appa! I enjoyed crocheting, stuffing, and sewing Appa together.
Are you working on any fun crochet or knitting projects?

SLOW COOKER LASAGNA RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
3 cans (15 ounces each) Italian-style tomato sauce
2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
1 container (15 ounces) part-skim ricotta cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
15 uncooked lasagna noodles
DIRECTIONS:
1. Cook sausage and onion in 10-inch skillet over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, basil, and salt.
2. Mix 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese and the ricotta and Parmesan cheeses. (Refrigerate remaining mozzarella cheese while lasagna cooks.)
3. Spoon 1/4 of the sausage mixture into 6-quart slow cooker; top with 5 noodles, broken into pieces to fit. Spread with half of the cheese mixture and 1/4 of the sausage mixture. Top with 5 noodles, remaining cheese mixture and, 1/4 of the sausage mixture. Top with remaining 5 noodles and remaining sausage mixture.
4. Cover and cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours or until noodles are tender.
5. Sprinkle top of lasagna with remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Cover and let stand about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Cut into pieces.
I used chopped beef instead of the sausage. I used a large jar of tomato sauce, and I left out the onion from the recipe.

Hello blog friends.
I like to treat myself and shop for makeup and beauty products in the Ulta Beauty store. Since I can't shop in the stores right now due to Covid-19, I was treated recently by my husband to a $25 gift certificate to Ulta Beauty. I love that he knows I like makeup. I jumped at the chance to order some new makeup online.
I'd love to share with you my mini beauty haul.
1. Matrix Biolage All-In-One Coconut Infusion Multi-Benefit Spray
This is a new to me hair product that I saw on Andrea's blog Living on Cloud Nine. This hair product is similar to It's a 10 but smells like coconuts and you get more for your buck as Andrea says! This spray makes my hair feel so soft and it smells nice. Thanks, Andrea for recommending this hair product!

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills - Brow Wiz
I needed a new brow pencil and I decided to try this one. I ordered it in the color Blonde. It's a thin pencil that fills in your eyebrows and on the other end is a brush. This brow pencil makes my eyebrows look natural and fills in the hair.

3. Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper
I treated my daughter to this lip gloss. It's a favorite of hers and she likes it in the Clear color. You get a slight tingle feeling and it plumps your lips.

4. Burt's Bees Moisturizing Lip Balm
I needed a new lip balm. I like using lip balm on my lips at night before I go to sleep. This has a coconut and pear scent that smells nice. I also like the way this lip balm softens my lips and it's a new favorite of mine.

Have you tried out any of these beauty products?
Hello blog friends and Happy Friday!
I have my Friday Favorites - September Edition:
1. Crochet Progress on Appa
I made a little progress working this week on crocheting Appa for my daughter. In case you missed that post you can read about it here. This project has many little pieces to crochet and then I needed to attach and sew the pieces to the head. I will be working on crocheting parts of Appa's body next. It should be interesting to see how this all comes together.
2. College Dorm Room Food Shopping
We needed to do some food shopping at Trader Joe's to bring my daughter back to college. It's been a long time since we've shopped there and we all had a fun time picking out food.
I decided to try out the creams and I like the way they make my face feel so soft.
3. College Drop Off
We took our daughter back to college last weekend and it was a success. We helped her move everything into her dorm room and set her up. We can't wait to visit her in a few weeks and I miss her already! LOL!
4. Outdoor Dining
My husband and I went out for lunch after the move to an area near the college. It was a beautiful day to sit outside and eat lunch at an Italian restaurant called Costantino's Venda Bar & Restaurant.
5. Flowers and Vegetables Growing
I took the photo below of the pretty pink flowers while taking Bosco for an afternoon walk.
My daughter planted cauliflower this year and it's growing pretty big. I've never seen purple cauliflower before!
6. Halloween Candy
While I was shopping at the drug store, I notice the Halloween candy out on display. I'm not sure if the kids will be out trick-or-treating this year. 😕
7. Bosco Waiting for Evening Walk
I couldn't resist taking this cute photo of Bosco. He waited patiently for me to get ready to take him for his evening walk. This cutie will be 13 years old next month! 🐶
Our thoughts and prayer are with those families who lost loved ones on September 11th. Let us also remember all the firefighters, police officers, and emergency personnel who gave their lives to save others.
Wishing you all a happy Friday and weekend.
