Hello blog friends and Happy October!

I love decorating my mantel each year for fall. When it comes to decorating the inside of my house I'm a traditional girl. I like using the autumn colors of the leaves with orange, brown, and white on the mantel. I've been decorating my mantel this way for many years now and I never get tired of the way it looks.

The painting seen over the mantel was painted by me many years ago when I was in high school. It is a scene of a church in the woods over looking the water during the fall.

I first put on the mantel a strand of faux leaves that I purchase many years ago at a dollar store. I also added to the mantel some mini pumpkins that were purchased from the Dollar Tree store.

The Be Thankful pumpkin was purchased at Michaels many years ago.

I also added the Happy Fall pumpkin that was also purchased at Michaels. I added to the ends on opposite sides of the mantel little fall tins from Michaels.

Next, I added these crocheted mini pumpkins that I made back in 2013 to the mantel.

I love that you can find so many amazing fall decorations at the dollar store. You can also make and DIY some cute decorations for your home.

Julie...your painting is FABULOUS!!!!!! I love it!!! You’ve decorated your mantle so prettily, and your painting is the main focus. I’ve made those crocheted pumpkins and just made my daughter one. Mine are a little different but such fun to make.

What a beautiful painting! WOW! You are so talented in so many ways! Love the little crochet pumpkins too. I love the colors of Fall! And I miss not having a mantle...the perfect spot of seasonal decor!

Looks great...I love your mantel! The crochet pumpkins are so cute - I just dug out my Halloween decorations and put them in with the fall decor. Nobody but us will see them, but still...Hope you have a great Fall!

Looks so cute - great fall decorations! I moved out of my parent's house this year, so I definitely don't have enough of my own decor pieces yet. Hopefully I can buy them soon!

Hi Julie, happy October! Your mantel is so beautifully decorated, but I am most amazed at the painting that you made, it's so pretty and serene! I love how you decorate with the items that were purchases over a period of time and you still love and appreciate them! The crochet pumpkins are just adorable!

Wow, Julie! You painted that?? It's beautiful and perfect for the season. I always love peeking at your crocheted pumpkins, too. My daughter found a few on Pinterest last week and knit me a whole patch of them. So cute. Hugs!!

It is so festive and pretty. I love that the painting is your own original, but I think the crochet pumpkins are my favorite part!
