Friday Favorites - April 2023

April 14, 2023

Hello friends.  It's been a while since I've done a Friday Favorites.  I hope you all had a nice week.  The weather is so nice here and it's finally warming up with a lot of sunshine.

It took me a while to find a crochet project that I was interested in making.  I found this Retro Granny Square Vest pattern and I decided that this would be fun to make.

I needed to buy the yarn and that turned into a problem for me.  I went to the Michaels store in my area but they did not carry the yarn I needed for this project.  Micheals online did not have the yarn colors I wanted either.  I had to order the yarn from Joanns in different colors than shown in the photo above.

I found the packaging unique.  The yarn is shown below.  All of the colors are connected in a circular form.

I started the front of the vest.  I find the pattern for this vest very involved.  I am happy that I found a YouTube video to watch how to make the vest.

I'm loving the signs of spring in the city.

My cherry blossom tree bloomed in my front yard.

This past weekend it was so nice to see this Magnolia tree in bloom at our church.

On my most recent trip to Costco I picked up this package of herbs.  It has basil, mint, oregano, and rosemary.  I can't wait to plant these herbs outside in my yard.

Our neighbor loves to bake.  She made for us brownies with a macaroon topping.  We enjoyed these delicious tasting brownies.

We spent Easter with a family friend.  She gifted us Bacha coffee.  I can't wait to make this coffee as we are all coffee lovers.

Wishing you a happy Friday and weekend.

  2. I love the crochet vest. I see so many things crochet coming back. My grandmother use to crochet all kinds of things. You are so lucky to have that skill. Happy Friday. Enjoy your weekend. It was summer this week here in Illinois and I am sure you are having about the same. Back to Spring like temps next week. Hugs. Kris
