An Easter Tradition

April 5, 2023

Hello friends.  I hope you all are having a good week.  It's a tradition in my husband's family to have Spaghetti pie and Pizza Rustica (Italian meat pie) for Easter.

I learned how to make this Spaghetti pie from my husband's Aunt.  It's delicious tasting and I've been making this every Easter season.

My husband put in a request this week for me to make spaghetti pie.  I made this yesterday and we all enjoyed it with a salad on the side for dinner.

I'd love to share this easy and delicious recipe with you.

Spaghetti Pie

Recipe by Julie @ Julie's Creative Lifestyle
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 1 hour
Total time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Ingredients
  • 1 pound cooked spaghetti
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup Pecorino Romano cheese
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper (you can use less)
  • 1 cup milk
Cooking Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Let spaghetti cool before mixing. Mix all ingredients together. Spray a large pan (10 x 12) with cooking spray. Add everything to the pan. Add little dabs of butter to the top of the pie. Bake for 1 hour. Let cool before cutting pie into pieces.
NOTE:  This recipe calls for milk, but I substituted it with Almond milk.

Do you have any Easter traditions?

Wishing you a wonderful week and a happy Easter.

  3. Ohhh! This sounds delicious!! We usually have an Easter brunch. It started years ago, when we were all in college and had to be back at school for classes on Monday. Early meal and then hit the highway!

  4. That looks so yummy! We don't really have any Easter traditions. The Easter Bunny sometimes hid the baskets with a long string of yarn attached so the kids would have to follow the yard to find their baskets. I miss those days!

    1. Quick question: If I wanted to make a half batch with items on-hand, can I sub Parm? Thanks:@)

  6. This looks delicious! My husband is also Italian--he is a native of Calabria. His family always made either manicotti or lasagna for Easter . It seems every town has its own unique traditions but they are all fabulous. Have a very Happy and Blessed Easter!

  9. My Easter tradition used to be traveling a short distance to gather with family for the day, but now everyone is too spread out ~ east coast, midwest, and west coast. Thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty!
