Friday Favorites - End of October

October 30, 2020

Hello blog friends and Happy Friday.
I can't believe it's already the end of October and we will be approaching November.

I have my Friday Favorites - End of October Edition:

1.  Crochet Project
I have another crochet project that I'm working on for my daughter.  My daughter is on a roll with requests for me to crochet for her.  I'm using heavy blanket yarn and a large crochet hook for this project.

2.  New Boots
I ordered new boots online from Costco.  They are Khombu Ladies All-Weather Booties in Black.  These boots will be perfect to wear for the cold winter months with my jeans and leggings.

3.  Cobb Salad
Mr. JCL and I have been eating a lot of salads lately.  We did take-out salad from Sweet Green.  I ordered a Cobb salad that was delicious tasting.  It was packed with avocado, sweet potato, egg, blue cheese, tomatoes, red onion, nuts, and balsamic vinegar dressing.

4.  Crockpot Lasagna
I recently posted on the blog a crockpot lasagna recipe I made.  I was so happy to see that my blog friend Heather from Our Life In a Click made the lasagna but vegan style.  This crockpot lasagna is so easy to make and you can add or leave out whatever you like.

5.  Reading a Book
I recently finished reading the book Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng.  I enjoyed reading this book and I couldn't put it down.  This book is from Reese Witherspoon's Book Club.  It's also available on Hulu which I hope to see soon.

6.  Magazine Reading
I always enjoy reading each month my favorite magazines.  I always get great recipe ideas, especially around the holidays.

7.  Halloween
We always dress Bosco up in a costume for Halloween.  Last year Bosco helped me greet the trick-or-treaters dressed up as a hotdog.  I'm not sure if we will get any visitors this year due to Covid-19.  Whatever happens, Bosco and I are ready to hand out candy to the kids on our block.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a Happy Friday.

  8. Your new boots look so warm and cozy! Little Fire Everywhere is on my nightstand. It's actually our book club selection for next April (so I have a bit of time to read it!). I'm a magazine lover also! I find it hard to throw them out even when I'm done reading them!

  13. Hi Julie - I do not crochet ( used to, maybe will start again...) but my sister in law is always making something so I send her your ideas. She is not " technically" savvy, so I usually print out your ideas and send them. Thanks for sharing! I have not posted this week...my dear husband had an "incident" at cardiac rehab ( and he was only a few sessions from graduating the program) last week. They did an ekg right there, scheduled a stress test, went in for that and there was an issue, long story short...he had another cardiac cath and spent three days in the hospital. Not a great time to be hanging out in a hospital! Home now, and hopefully back on track. I made him his favorite brownies for Halloween ( tried to make them healthy) and hope to post that next week. Thanks for all your great ideas....love the HOT DOG!

  16. I think that is the last book I read. I have been too scatterbrained lately to sit and concentrate on a book. Love the little hat you made and those boots look perfect for fall and winter.
