New Makeup and Bag

January 29, 2020

Hello friends.  It's been a while since I've done one of my makeup posts or shared about it in my Friday Favorites.  I'm excited to share with you the makeup I received from Christmas.

1.  Tartlette in Bloom - Eyeshadow Palette by Tarte
I was gifted this eye palette from my daughter.  I love that this eyeshadow palette has 12 brightening matte and shimmer shades.  The colors are soft and perfect for light eye makeup for day wear.  I enjoy mixing and matching the different colors and I know I'll get a lot of use out of this palette.

2.  Nude Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette Light - Huda Beauty
I was gifted for Christmas this eyeshadow palette from my SIL.  I have never had or used any beauty products by Huda Beauty and I love the pretty colors in this eyeshadow palette.  The colors are light peach, pinks, and mauve in matte and shimmer colors.   This is perfect for wearing in the day and evening.  I am having so much fun playing with these eyeshadows.

3.  Mac Bold & Bad Lash Mascara
This mascara was also gifted to me for Christmas from my SIL.  I have never tried this mascara from Mac and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this mascara works.  There is a wand to use for the upper lashes and a small wand to use for the lower lashes.  This mascara works good and it makes your lashes look light and natural.  There is no clumping and it left no flaking.  I have been using this mascara every day and I'm loving it.

4.  Makeup Bag
I did some ordering of makeup for Christmas on the website for Ulta.  They had a special that if you spent a certain amount of money with your order you receive a free makeup bag.  I was able to spend the amount of money and inside the bag contains makeup and beauty samples.  I like the makeup bag and I'm having fun trying out the samples.  My only complaint with Ulta is that I did buy some products that said you would receive another gift with a purchase.  I didn't receive that item in the mail.  I called up customer service and explained everything and they said that I was supposed to click on the box to receive the items.  Well, I did that but to make good on it they sent to me a gift card to use at Ulta.  I was glad I called customer service to explain the situation and it all worked out.

5.  Lancome - 3 Piece - La Vie Est Belle Moments Gift Set
I asked my husband and daughter for this perfume for Christmas.  They gave me this three-piece set that I love and the perfume smells so good.  It has a slight smell that isn't overpowering and perfect for day and evening wear.

Have you tried any new makeup lately?

What I'm Adding to my Daily Routine

January 20, 2020

Hello blog friends.  I can't believe it's already the middle of January.  I hope you are enjoying this quiet month of January.

One of the ways I hope to be more creative is by working in the book
365 Days of Creativity by Lorna Scobie.

I was gifted this book for my birthday from my daughter.  I thought this was such a great idea and a perfect gift for me.

This is a book that I know I will enjoy working on.  It will help me to be more creative by working and experimenting with different mediums in art.

Some of you might remember that I posted these photos on Instagram @brklynhousewife a few weeks ago.

I was so excited to get started working in the book.  I picked a page to work on that said to fill the bowl with different objects.  I used a pencil and a thin black marker to draw fruits, popcorn, and cookies.  I then colored in the drawings with colored pencils.  Each page in the book has different things to work on and make.

I was so happy that I started looking around the house for items such as colored pencils, black pencils, pastel crayons, and thin black markers.

I would also like to mention Jenna who blogs at The Painted Apron.  She is a talented artist who shares her artwork and techniques on her blog each week.  Jenna is also talented at decor and food and I hope you will visit her blog.

This will be a creative journey for me and I hope to stick with it.  If you would like to join me on this journey, this book is available to purchase on Amazon.  We can be creative together.  Just let me know in the comment section if you will be joining me.  I will be posting photos of my artwork on Instagram @brklynhousewife.

If you happen to read this daughter, THANK YOU.

Let's be creative together!

2020 January Bucket List

January 13, 2020

Hello blog friends.

Today I'm thinking about a bucket list of things I hope to do for January now that things have quieted down from the holidays.

1.  Drink Hot Chocolate

I am usually a coffee drinker but I plan on spending one afternoon relaxing with a mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows.  YUM!

2.  Dream Of Being On The Beach

I love looking back and remembering how we took our family vacation and went to the beach last year in Vietnam.

3.  Plan Our Next Vacation
We can start to plan and think about where we would like to take our next family vacation.

4.  Read a Good Book

I look forward to reading a new book for 2020.  I enjoy spending my afternoons reading a few chapters in a good book.

5.  Make Homemade Soup

I plan on making a lot of homemade soups like my instant pot lentil soup recipe.

6.  Organize My Home
Now that the holidays are over I want to organize the house.  I plan to organize my holiday decorations and other areas in the house.

7.  Cook and Eat Healthy Food

I plan to cook healthy foods for dinner like my easy baked codfish recipe.

8.  Get Back into My Exercise Routine

I plan to keep a daily routine at the gym.  I hope to use my elliptical machine when there are days that I can't get to the gym due to bad weather.

9.  Have a Spa Day
I would like to have one day where I can have a spa day.  I want to have a facial since my face gets very dry in the winter.  Going to the nail salon to have a manicure/pedicure is always fun and relaxing for me.

10.  Watch Netflix Shows

I like watching some of my favorite Netflix shows and I also want to add some new shows or movies to my list.  One of the shows I enjoy watching with my husband is Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee when we both need a good laugh.  This holiday season my husband I watched The Irishman and The Two Popes. We both enjoyed watching these good movies together.  Please be warned that The Irishman is a LONG movie if you want to see it.  It's 3 hours and 30 minutes long, but worth watching!  Do you have any good shows or movies to recommend?

What are some things on your Bucket List for January?
