2020 January Bucket List

January 13, 2020

Hello blog friends.

Today I'm thinking about a bucket list of things I hope to do for January now that things have quieted down from the holidays.

1.  Drink Hot Chocolate

I am usually a coffee drinker but I plan on spending one afternoon relaxing with a mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows.  YUM!

2.  Dream Of Being On The Beach

I love looking back and remembering how we took our family vacation and went to the beach last year in Vietnam.

3.  Plan Our Next Vacation
We can start to plan and think about where we would like to take our next family vacation.

4.  Read a Good Book

I look forward to reading a new book for 2020.  I enjoy spending my afternoons reading a few chapters in a good book.

5.  Make Homemade Soup

I plan on making a lot of homemade soups like my instant pot lentil soup recipe.

6.  Organize My Home
Now that the holidays are over I want to organize the house.  I plan to organize my holiday decorations and other areas in the house.

7.  Cook and Eat Healthy Food

I plan to cook healthy foods for dinner like my easy baked codfish recipe.

8.  Get Back into My Exercise Routine

I plan to keep a daily routine at the gym.  I hope to use my elliptical machine when there are days that I can't get to the gym due to bad weather.

9.  Have a Spa Day
I would like to have one day where I can have a spa day.  I want to have a facial since my face gets very dry in the winter.  Going to the nail salon to have a manicure/pedicure is always fun and relaxing for me.

10.  Watch Netflix Shows

I like watching some of my favorite Netflix shows and I also want to add some new shows or movies to my list.  One of the shows I enjoy watching with my husband is Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee when we both need a good laugh.  This holiday season my husband I watched The Irishman and The Two Popes. We both enjoyed watching these good movies together.  Please be warned that The Irishman is a LONG movie if you want to see it.  It's 3 hours and 30 minutes long, but worth watching!  Do you have any good shows or movies to recommend?

What are some things on your Bucket List for January?

  9. Sounds like your January will be a busy, yet relaxing month, too. I tried watching the Irishman, but had to turn it. I think it wasn’t something violent that had me doing that. Maybe I should try again?? I’ve made five soups so far, and I was thankful to have them. Happy New Year, Julie!

  11. Great list....and thank you for the book recommendation. We just returned from a holiday cruise that spent a day in Monaco. I love it there...the gardens especially. Don't know if it is the sea air, the flowers, the pines...whatever it is it is magical. My library does not have the book, but I found the audio version on Hoopla. Thinking it would be good to listen to that book as I exercise and organize !!!

  14. I am always in for #1,2 & 4. Being a filmophile I enjoy a good film, but couldn't finish the Irishman to save my life. Waiting excitedly for The Little Women though..

  16. Ha! That's a great list, except I'll pass on the spa day. I'm a Great Clips kinda girl and allergic to almost everything you put on skin...so i'll pass. But, everything else sounds yummy!

    1. Thanks for the blog visit. I am glad that you liked the snow scene and my bucket list. I started watching the first season last year of Anne with an E but I never got around to finishing it. I will have to give it another go.

  18. PS: Have you watched "Anne With an E"? It is based on the Anne of Green Gables novels but much more realistic and very well acted. It's in its third season.

  19. Love the photograph! I'm decluttering holiday things. Worked on seeing what I had left in cards and paper today. I've been reading a lot and doing a lot of blog visits. I do need to get back to the gym, but taking the next few days off until my cold is gone. I've been doing some vacation dreaming, too, and have some wild ideas.

  25. That's a great bucket list, Julie! Perfect to take away those January blahs we get after the holidays. I need to catch up on my reading list, too - there's nothing like a good book to escape into, especially if it takes place near a beach town :) I have been enjoying Masterpiece theater - 'Sanditon'- I love the beautiful clothes. Now I have a craving for hot chocolate since you brought it up, so I have to go now. Hugs xo Karen
