Makeup Monday - Week 20 - Finding the Perfect Blush
Hi friends and welcome to Week 20 of my Makeup Monday Series. I was on a quest to find the perfect new blush as I have been using the same blush for so many years. It's been so many years that I have been using the same blush and color that I can't even remember how many years! I looked on Pinterest and a lot of beauty bloggers claim that NARS Blush in the color Orgasm is the perfect blush.
Here is the new blush that I purchased NARS in the color Orgasm at Sephora.
Here is a photo of the old blush that I had been using - CoverGirl 590 Soft Mink.
I have been using the NARS blush and I like the color, it's a peachy color with a little added shimmer. When you apply a light application it delivers a natural looking flush and color. This is a splurge buy because it costs about $30 and to see the link for it click HERE. I do like this blush and would recommend it.
If you have a favorite blush that you use and like, what is it?
Thanks everyone for stopping by and see you all here next Monday for Makeup Monday. In case you missed any posts you can find them HERE.
Thanks everyone and Enjoy!
Julie
I don't have much experience in choosing blush shades. This info was useful for me Julie!

I have used that blush and really like it. The one thing about blush is that it seems to last forever, so that $30 will go a long ways! I'm trying a cream blush right now from Maybelline b/c I read that cream blushes are better for women of a certain age ;) the powder doesn't go in the creases. So far I haven't liked it; it's harder to apply and blend in. I may go back to Nars. They do have a cream blush; I wonder if that would blend better than the Maybelline? I'll let you know if I try it. But honestly, I've never had any problems with powder blush. Fun, as always, Julie!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very pretty color ~ it is kind of peachy. I worked at Nordstrom for 6 years as the asst. manager in the cosmetic dept., so no surprise but...I am a makeup junkie, Julie:) I really like a blush I bought at walmart from hard candy (Nordsrtom used to carry that brand years ago). Also, I have a peachy blush that is new from Ulta that I think I like (I really like a bronzer Ulta sells so I tried a blush). I also have several Bobbi Brown blushes I love. Never tried Nars though...Have a great week:)
ReplyDeleteI used the same Prescriptives blush FOREVER, Julie and I thought it always looked nice on me....then they discontinued it. I still have some left, but I recently received a sample in a Clinique gift bag and it was so much better!! I guess I was just stuck in a blush rut! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe soft mink color sure is pretty. Well....you asked...I got my blush out this week to try to add some color to my cloth dollies that I'm making! lol I don't use it because I have very pink cheeks naturally. And when I get outside my whole face gets beet red! I have to tone things down, as much as I can! Pass the concealer! lol Sweet hugs and Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteThanks so this great information. I tend to go more for the red's. My favorite lipstick is Revlon's Cherry's In the Snow, so try to get a blush that goes with that. i have become so allergic to most cosmetics that I hardly wear them anymore. Even the hyper allergic bothers me.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Julie.

I used to use a blush, but now I don't. My daughter (15) is just starting to dabble with it a bit though.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie,
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of your new blush. I find the older I get, less is more, re: make up. Also, I've read that post 50 women should use a cream blush for added moisture to drying skin. What do you think?
Thanks for sharing this wonderful find!
Have a great week!

I love reading about your recommendations, Julie. I will have to try this blush. Right now I am using Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. It's pricey, too, but I do love it. It adds a soft glow to my face.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a pretty natural color. I rarely use blush as I have a very pink complexion and don't want to accentuate it. I enjoy reading your make-up recommendations though...you almost always feature a product that I have never heard of or used. Very fun! Have a blessed week...Vicky
ReplyDeleteI love Nars and that is a popular color. Glad you like it Julie!

Whoo this one looks a nice shade Julie. I usually go for a bronzing one for a shimmering look :)
