Hello blog friends.
I wanted to share with you an easy recipe for Pesto Sauce before the summer ends.
I love to grow fresh herbs each spring. I planted two basil plants this year and the plants grew so big.
I picked basil and rinsed off the leaves with water.
PESTO SAUCE
What You'll Need:
basil
grated cheese
olive oil
garlic cloves
salt & pepper
I added all of the ingredients to the Nutri Bullet.
I pulsed the Nutri Bullet a few times.
PESTO SAUCE
Serving size: 1 cup
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
1/2 cup olive oil
3 medium garlic cloves, minced
salt & pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor or blender and pulse a few times. Stop and scrape down the sides with a plastic spatula.
* Serve over cooked pasta.
NOTES: I made a large batch of pesto sauce and doubled the recipe.

This year my daughter and her friend planted basil on Earth Day back in April. They planted the basil from seeds and and it grew into large basil plants. To use it up I decided to make Pesto Sauce.
I picked 2 cups of fresh basil leaves to make the pesto sauce.
I made tortellini pasta with the Pesto Sauce. You can use any kind of pasta you like!
This pesto sauce tastes so amazing and I made it for my family two times already!
Homemade Pesto Sauce Recipe
Makes 1 cup
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed
1/2 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
1/2 cup olive oil
3 medium garlic cloves, minced
salt & pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and pulse a few times. Stop and scrap down the sides with a plastic spatula. Done.
Serve over cooked pasta.

It was so pretty and warm in my yard the other day so I decided to take some pictures of my side yard.

My mom gave me this beautiful angel statue for me to put in the garden when my husband and I moved into our house 18 years ago!

I have just a few tomatoes starting to grow in one of my pots. I have to wait for them to turn red.
If you look closely you can see the tomatoes hiding in this plant.

I have growing a spearmint plant and basil, so that I can have spearmint for our ice tea and basil to make pesto or to use in my tomato sauce.

That is my little tour of my yard and I hope you enjoyed it. My yard may not be large, but I do love it and we enjoy sitting outside and having summer BBQ's.
