Hello friends and happy September! 🍂
I'm joining Amy from the blog, Coffee and Cocktails at the Casa, for her Currently link-up. It's held on the first Wednesday of each month.
We will be sharing this month: Adjusting to, Baking/Cooking, Decorating, Balancing, and Learning.
ADJUSTING TO: I'm adjusting to it getting darker at night and the end of August. I can't believe it's the beginning of September. I am trying to clean out closets and donate clothes to Goodwill. I will be transitioning my wardrobe to fall clothes. I have two bags of clothes and coats to donate. I hope to do more!
BAKING/COOKING: I haven't been baking lately. We are trying to be good right now after having a fun summer of eating ice cream. Although I do love eating pumpkin bread/muffins and apple bread/muffins for fall. I may bake once the weather cools off.
DECORATING: I have been crocheting pumpkins to decorate my mantel in my living room and kitchen. I love giving them to my daughter and her friends too. I like decorating my stoop planter with fall flowers.
BALANCING: I thought that we would've done more grilling this summer than we did. We didn't because I was on vacation in London with my daughter in June; July, I went on vacation with my husband to the Bahamas; and in August, we took a family vacation to the Jersey Shore. I want to get back to eating healthy meals and meal planning. I love making soups and Italian dishes, and I will also incorporate Hello Fresh meals for a while at least twice a week. I love that I have two meals that I know what I'll be making, and everything that I need for the meals gets delivered to my house. I'm hoping to get on a more regular schedule with the gym and get back into blogging more and visiting blogs.
LEARNING: I love crocheting seasonal items like this crochet pumpkin I made recently.
I love making crochet projects with new free patterns. I like finding crochet patterns from bloggers, Pinterest, and Instagram. I have bought some crochet patterns on Etsy. The details on how to make this pumpkin is here. I love decorating my mantel and the kitchen with these pumpkins. I usually use leftover yarn in different colors.
What is currently new with you?
Julie

Your pumpkins are adorable. How fun to make them yourself. Hope all is going well. Summer is coming to an end even though it does not feel like it! We have been close to 100 the last few days. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteDarling little pumpkins Julie. It sounds like you have had a great summer. This week has cooled off quite a bit. It will get hot again later. Happy September.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's September either! I don't like that it's getting dark earlier and earlier. I love your crocheted pumpkins! We haven't used our grill much either. Only once the whole summer! I hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteThose pumpkins are really cute. I can't believe it's about time to decorate for fall again!
ReplyDeleteWe've really noticed the light changes this week with it being dark now when we wake up and getting dark by the time we go to bed too. I know it happened gradually but it sure didn't feel that way! It sounds like you had such a fun summer of travel.
ReplyDeleteJulie, you know how much I love your crochet pumpkins! They're so cute. I've also noticed the change in the light...my candles are going on earlier and earlier! I'm so not ready!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth about baking? I love to bake but I cannot eat all of my products! I feel like putting them in the freezer keeps them out of sight out of mind to some degree. Your pumpkins are so cute! Target Dollar Spot had some cute sweater pumpkins. I am still confused - are we keeping Daylight savings time? I am noticing it getting darker much earlier!
ReplyDeleteI have noticed the darker evenings creeping in too. I tend to save my baking for when it gets a bit colder too. All those vacations sound wonderful! We sometimes get Gousto Boxes which is almost the same as Hello Fresh, they are great for healthy meals and trying new recipes.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to Fall and not minding the early darkness that much. We did not grill as much this year or eat out on our screen porch as much as we would have liked due to it being way too hot, or stormy. Hope the Fall weather is nice to still grill for a bit. Saving my baking until next weeks, too. Same here with cleaning out closet and donating to Goodwill - and not just clothes. Trying to be ruthless about getting rid of things I don't use! Love your pumpkins! My goal is to wean down my Fall decorations ....but that is going to be tough! Enjoy September, Julie!
ReplyDeleteMy best friend crocheted me some pumpkins and they are some of my favourite fall decorations!!!
