Currently - April 2025

April 2, 2025

Happy April friends! 😀🌼

I'm joining Jenn for her Currently link-up.  It's held on the first Wednesday of the month.  The link-up lasts for about two weeks. This month we are sharing what we are loving, adding to the cart, reading, watching, and listening to.

LOVING:  I'm so happy that spring is here since we've had a cold and snowy winter.  You can read here my latest spring blog post.

ADDING TO THE CART:  I recently bought some spring/summer items that I like and I've worn already.  If you are interested, then you can read about them here

READING:  I just finished reading Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score.

Lucian Rollins is a lean, mean vengeance-seeking mogul. On a quest to erase his abusive father's mark on the family name, he spends every waking minute pulling strings and building his empire. The more money and power he gains, the safer he feels.

Except when it comes to one feisty small-town librarian…

Bonded by an old, dark secret from the past and their current mutual disdain, Sloane Walton trusts Lucian about as far as she can throw his designer-suited body.

When bickering accidentally turns to foreplay, the flames are fanned, and it's impossible to put them out again. But with Sloane more than ready to start a family and Lucian refusing to even consider the idea of marriage and kids, these enemies-to-lovers are stuck at an impasse.

Until Lucian learns the hard way that leaving Sloane is impossible―the very least he can do is to keep her safe.

This is my first time reading a book by Lucy Score and I enjoyed reading this book.  The only problem I have is that the book is 581 pages and it took me a long time to read.  I feel like some books do not need to be almost 600 pages long!

WATCHING:  My husband and I have been watching a few shows together and one I'm watching by myself.

  • White Lotus - Season 3 - This is good but my least favorite season.  I loved season 2 when they were all in Italy.
  • Severance - All of the seasons.  I'm not a fan of this show but watched it anyway.
  • The Crown - All of the seasons.  My husband and I are enjoying this show and all of the drama.
  • With Love Meghan - There has been some bad publicity on social media and I wanted to see this show myself.  I've watched the first episode and I'll have to wait and watch more.
  • Conclave - We enjoyed this movie.
  • Wicked - I loved this movie and all of the costumes and singing.  I'm looking forward to seeing the next part.

LISTENING TO:  I've been listening to some good music at my exercise classes at the gym.  In my weights and Zumba classes, they play some really fun and good music.  I recently took a spin class with my daughter and they were playing old Madonna songs and the newest Lady Gaga song Abracadabra.

What have you been up to and is currently new with you?

  1. I'm so ready for spring and flowers! I like that Lucy Score series, I think that's the 3rd one and the first is my favorite. They are long though! I'm enjoying White Lotus and I watch Severance but I'm always confused. I've watched a few episodes of Love, Meghan but wasn't really into it. I loved Wicked and thought Conclave was pretty good.

  4. Ugh, I'm with you, White Lotus is hard to watch this season, yet I can't stop. Only one more to go thank goodness! I also think you should get bonus points for reading a book that's almost 600 pages...yikes!!

  7. I'll go look at what you've shown in the link. I actually bought a few new summer items at a department store yesterday. I'm so tired of my old clothes. We had fun camping...and hiking! I'm working on the photos now! Hugs!

  8. I can’t seem to find the time to read anymore, Julie. I have too many things going on, but I used to love to read. I can’t even keep up with answering comments on my blog, and I always appreciate your visits…so thank you!

  9. Hi Julie! I've not watched any of of the tv shows you've mentioned. the last tv series was Called the Midwife. I did watched Wicked but it wasn't for me as I'm not into musicals. 😅 I was just singing the older Madonna songs at the grocery store. It's good to be reading what you're up to these days. Have a good rest of your weekend. Ping

  11. Hi Julie, hope you are seeing more and more signs of spring each day! Thank you for all the reviews of the book and the shows you are watching. I've not watched any of them yet, but I have heard so much about them, so they are on my list, especially 'White Lotus'. Currently I just finished watching 'The Diplomat', which I loved, and 'The Lincoln Lawyer', which I also loved and is based on the books by Michael Connelly. I haven't been reading much lately, except gardening books about what to plant that deer won't eat. Lol! They are so pretty, but so damaging to my gardens. Hope you have a nice week. Hugs x K

  12. My husband is not a fan of Severance as well. I plan to continue watching though. I need answers.
The White Lotus is next on our watch list.

  13. I'm currently reading a book which is over 500 pages long and that feels like too long. Especially since the print is quite dense.
