Hello friends. Happy first day of summer!
I am a little behind in my blogging. I finally have the time to share about the trip we took to the Bahamas back in March. The last time I went to the Bahamas was back in 2013 and we took our daughter with us. This time it was my hubby and I and we stayed at the Atlantis at The Reef.
Our view from our room. We had a deck with chairs to sit and enjoy the view of the ocean.
Each day we would see large cruise ships in the bay. The ships can let people off the boat for the day to explore the Atlantis.
Our room wasn't ready yet so we took a walk around the grounds.
We loved the pool area and we were happy that the pool wasn't crowded with a lot of people. We always had chairs by the pool available to us. We tried to go a few times to the Adult Only pool at The Cove, but it was always crowded and we could never find any chairs. 😞
I spotted this little lizard by my pool chair.
The beach was beautiful and the water was warm but rough to swim in. I got knocked around a few times, LOL.
We walked around the marina that evening after our dinner at Shake Shack. I love their burger and fries. We even shared some chicken bites.
I remember the big sculptures in the casino.
I spotted a cute stray cat on our way to eat dinner.
We ate dinner at Shake Shake the first and last night in the Bahamas. It was so convenient that we didn't have to make a reservation to eat there.

That looks wonderful! We saw the Atlantis resort from our ship balcony on our honeymoon (back in 2001) and I've been wanting to stay there ever since but we've yet to make that happen... I did wonder if it starts to feel crowded with the day passes they grand the cruise ship passengers.
ReplyDeleteJoanne, it was such a nice getaway for a few days. It was a little crowded in Shake Shack due to the people visiting from the cruise ships.
DeleteThank you so much for linking up with us at Talking About it Tuesdays! That doesn't sound so bad then; I was picturing a really crowded pool/resort area much like being on an actual cruise ship where if you don't claim your spot by 8 or 9 am you aren't getting one for the day.
DeleteHow fun Julie. We have never been, but we have talked about going someday. The sculptures are beautiful. The resort looks lovely. So glad you got away. When we visited NY about 6 years ago, we tried the Shake Shack. Looking forward to seeing more photos. Happy summer 🩷
ReplyDeleteLinda, we had such a nice getaway to the Bahamas. Maybe someday you and your husband will visit the Atlantis. I would compare Shake Shack to your In-n-Out Burger.
DeleteHow nice to have such a great trip. The view from your room was amazing. Cannot wait to see more of your trip. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteI have been on one of those cruise ships that stop in the Bahamas. I have been to Atlantis but never stayed there. I can't wait to see more of it in your next post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog visit. We enjoyed our getaway to the Bahamas and I can't wait to go back again.
DeleteThis looks incredible! I love Shake Shack too, and how fun to have one on vacation. We stayed at the Atlantis in Dubai and loved it. We don't often think about travelling to the Bahamas from Houston since there aren't easy flights. Can't wait to read more!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a great trip. ATlantis looks amazing and gorgeous! I loved your t-shirt in the boat photo. You guys had such a great room view. It looks like a lovely resort. I don't like when we can't find chairs at the pool, that is a bummer. I saw so many little lizards in Florida but no kitties. Lucky!
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome, idyllic and so much fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for participating and sharing at SSPS 315. See you again next week https://esmesalon.com/tag/seniorsalonpitstop/
Julie, I appreciate taking this virtual tour of day 1. I don't get to travel so I love "virtually" traveling with others.
ReplyDeleteVisiting today from SSPS 315 #39,40,41&42

ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time.. We have only been to the Bahamas once.. many many years ago.
ReplyDeleteAh, the Bahamas! So far away for us! Sounds and looks just perfect for a holiday! Thank you for letting us a have a glimpse - I'd love to see more!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice vacation, Julie. My late beloved and I went to the Bahamas way back in the early ‘70’s when I first started teaching, during Christmas break.
