Happy Tuesday! I just discovered the Show Us Your Books link-up with Life According to Steph and Jana Says. It's a book link-up they host on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
I'm excited to share the books I read in February.
How to Stop Time by Matt Haig
This is the first time I've read a book by this author. I was given this book for Christmas. The main character Tom Hazard looks 41 years old but has a rare condition and is centuries old. Tom has to move around every 8 years and is tired of moving around and wants an ordinary life. We are taken back and forth in time and have learned about all the people and places Tom has experienced over his long life. Then the story takes us to present-day life for Tom where it involves mystery and a love story. Tom is finally happy at the end of his life. I thought the book had a slow start but then the story picked up and I enjoyed reading this book.
I've noticed on the New York Times bestsellers list is another book by this author called the Midnight Library. I'd love to add this to my book list.
The Queen of Paris - A Novel of Coco Chanel by Pamela Binnings Ewen
This is another new to me author and book that I received for Christmas. I loved reading this book and I couldn't put it down. This is a historical fiction book about Coco Chanel. I think you'll enjoy learning more about the life of fashion designer Coco Chanel.
I recently shared about my book goals and all of the books I want to read. I am going off that book list and reading The Lincoln Highway.
The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles
I just started reading this book last week. This book was recommended by Jenna from the Today show who has a book club. Mr. JCL read this book and also recommended I read it. I'm reading it on the Kindle app on my iPad.
Have you read any of these books? What book are you reading now?

I haven't read any of these but I will check them out and add to my list. I'm reading The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek right now and I like it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of those. Thanks for the recommendations. That How to Stop Time book sounds intriguing. I love books and movies that contain time travel.
ReplyDeleteI have read the Midnight Library and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the recommendations.
ReplyDeleteI think I would like the one about Coco. It has been good to find good reads lately with all that is going on in this world.
ReplyDeleteTakes your mind and soul to a different place for a little while. Thanks for the recommendations. xoxo Kris
I like the sound of How to stop Time. Thank you for the recommendations Julie. xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't read How to Stop Time but did read the Midnight Library and thought it was a good read-- very different from the usual plot even if it was a bit dark at times. I like the sound of the Cocoa Channel book. I just read another historical fiction novel about her and enjoyed it a lot.
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of bloggers that have said the Midnight Library is a good book. I loved reading the Coco Chanel book. Thanks for stopping by Joanne.
DeleteHow nice to have joined this online book club! I have also joined a book club that meets once a month during the day, I believe many of them are retired teachers. I went last month and so enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteThis month is called (This Tender Land By William Kent Krueger), I think you would like it Julie!
I have made a note of these two books, Thanks! Blessings, Roxy
I loved The Lincoln Highway. I tore through it for a book of that length. My favorite Amore Towles is Rules of Civility. Just a stunning book.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and post to find new titles! Looking forward to reading both of those!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I enjoyed reading both of these books and I think you will too. Enjoy the rest of the week Ann.
DeleteI love seeing what you are reading and these are all new authors to me. I read a lot of mysteries and they are my fav. I am reading the Amos Decker series by David Baldacci right now. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteHaven't read any of those, but the Midnight Library sounds intriguing!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read How to Stop Time, but I liked The Midnight Library very much, both the story itself and the way it made me think about the long-term effects of various life choices.
ReplyDeleteI will be adding The Midnight Library to my reading list. Thanks Becca for stopping by and enjoy the weekend.
DeleteI just finished reading How TO Stop time - I didn't like it as much as the Midnight Library, I just thought it was an okay read so I hope you do get to read the Midnight Library! :) I didn't read that much in February but I've been trying to read a lot recently as a bunch of my holds came in at once at the library and I can't keep them for too long as others want them after me so I'm trying to get in all the reading, haha!
ReplyDeleteHope that your week is going well :)
I will be adding the Midnight Library to my reading list. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend Mica.
DeleteAll of these sound good to me. How To Stop Time sounds interesting! I just finished The Personal Librarian, a historical novel about J.P. Morgan's personal librarian, Belle de Costa Greene, who was a fair-skinned black woman who made the choice to live as a white woman in the early 1900s, and had to keep it a secret her entire life. Fascinating!
ReplyDeleteThe Lincoln Highway is our book club selection for this month and I'm about 25% through it right now. So far, I'm loving it! Thanks for mentioning The Queen of Paris book. It's a reminder that I want to read that one.
