Five on Friday - What I Love About Summer

I am happy to be joining Amy from Love Made My Home for her Five on Friday Series. 

I'm taking five minutes of my day to share five things:

 Today I'm sharing some things that I love about the summer!
1)  I love refreshing drinks during the summer such as the ice tea at Panera Bread.  It's one of my favorite ways to cool off when it's hot outside.


2)  I'm so grateful for our summer vacation I just had with my family to sunny California.  We just got back yesterday and once I'm all settled in I will be sharing with you photos and more about the vacation.

I just love California and the sunny warm weather!


3)  I love summer and grilling food and BBQ's and not having to use the oven as much when cooking dinner or entertaining friends and family.  I made grilled corn and the recipe to make it was so easy.  I will share this with you soon.


4)  I am enjoying my container gardening and growing tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, mint, basil, lavender, and edamame (they are beans in a pod) and it's my first time growing edamame beans.  I love having a small garden to tend too.


5)  My family and I are looking forward to visiting and spending time at my mothers beautiful home and beach for the summer.

    What fun summer activities Julie!! I have only been to Cali once but I loved it!! And Panera Iced Tea is delish...one of the best places for sweet tea here in NoAla.

    I like iced tea too; in fact I am drinking it for breakfast instead of coffee this morning. California is a beautiful place with nice climate in many areas. I used to travel there for business periodically and I really enjoyed it. Your mom's beach house looks absolutely gorgeous. Who wouldn't like spending time there?!!     I love California too! Lucky you!! Iced tea is one of my favorite summer drinks. That corn looks amazing...so does your mom's beach house!

    I adore a cold drink during the summertime. I love finding new and wonderful things to mix with ice and enjoy on the back deck. My latest favourite is Elderberry Cordial mixed with soda water and lime juice. Delightful!!

    Love all your items that you love for summer. Ice tea is always the best.
    Fresh herbs from garden and time at the beach. Your mothers home is stunning. I would be staying there all summer. Hope Bosco is warming up to you.

    Hi Julie! A bit late to comment but these photos on your summer are wonderful. I'm so glad that you guys got to go to California. I miss California a lot, not the heat though:) Although it's better than the humidity here. Now I want to take a bite of that corn, yum!!!
