I posted this blog post back in 2013 after taking a trip to London, England. I thought I would repost this again since it's summertime.
This has got to be my favorite summer drink after taking a trip to London, England. My husband's friend Joe introduced us to this drink after sightseeing one afternoon with him and his wife in England.
SUMMER SHANDY RECIPE
Ingredients:
1 bottle/can beer - I used 8 oz. of Sapporo Beer - (You can use any beer you like)
4 oz. Sparking Lemonade Soda
Instructions:
The above picture has 8 oz. of beer and 4 oz. sparkling lemonade soda. Combine all the ingredients and garnish with a lemon wedge.
The pub is the white building which is located on the right after the blue building. We all sat outside the pub and enjoyed our Shandy drinks.
This drink is so refreshing on a hot summer evening. Enjoy!
Confession time...this is my drink when I get home after work. Funny how I just take this for granted! It's so refreshing and just enough to say 'phew'! xx

Hi Julie,
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine what this Shandy tastes like, but it does sound very interesting! The other day, I had just finished drinking a coke and by mistake, I poured some beer into the same glass. Well, I was not impressed; too many combating flavours going on. But, I can understand how lemon would work with beer, for some reason!:))
Poppy
Hi Poppy, you have to try it, it's so good.

This is a really refreshing drink Poppy! My mum is British and she drinks this on the weekends. I love it when I want something a bit naughty but don't want too much alcohol. x
DeleteHi Julie,
ReplyDeleteI know one guy at my house who will enjoy this recipe!

ReplyDeleteWe drink this a lot in England Julie and yes it is very refreshing on a warm Summers day. 😊Xx
ReplyDeleteI'm not a beer drinker, but, I think I'd like it! I'll definitely give it a try, like maybe tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI’ve never had a shandy, but my English friend had mentioned how good they are!
