Monthly Musings November 2025 - Thanksgiving Holiday Prep

November 20, 2025

Hello friends.  I'm joining Holly and Patty for their Monthly Musings link-up.  This month's topic is Thanksgiving Holiday Prep.

HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:

1)  Favorite Thanksgiving dishes?  My favorite Thanksgiving dish is stuffing.  I also love leftover food the day after Thanksgiving.  One year, I decided to make Corn Pudding Muffins as a side dish for Thanksgiving, and they came out so delicious tasting.

2)  Stuffing or dressing?  Please share a recipe.  We like to have stuffing with sausage, and another year I made it with cornbread.

3)  Are you hosting any of the holidays this year?  Please share your tips.  I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year with my brother and sister-in-law, and kids.  We will have ten people this year.  I always plan out the food with my sister-in-law.  Also, make lists and ask family members for help.  My daughter always makes a beautiful charcuterie board like the one pictured above.

4)  Turkey trot or football game?  On Thanksgiving Day my husband likes to have a football game on TV.

5)  If you decorate for Christmas, do you decorate before or after Thanksgiving?  I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year, so I will decorate for Christmas and put up my tree that weekend.

6)  Are your holidays sit-down meals or more casual affair?  When I host for Thanksgiving or Christmas, it's always a sit-down meal.

7)  Pumpkin or apple pie?  Another dessert?  I love both pies for Thanksgiving.

8)  Are you traveling for Thanksgiving or staying closer to home?  I will be staying home since I am hosting Thanksgiving this year.  I alternate each year with my brother and sister-in-law for the holidays.

9)  Do you Black Friday shop?  I usually start doing my shopping before Black Friday, and I also take advantage and do Black Friday shopping online.

10)  Thing you are most looking forward to this holiday season?  I'm looking forward to spending time with my family and friends.

WISHING EVERYONE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Costco Finds - November 2025

November 13, 2025

Hello friends. 😊

It's been a while since I've shared some of my latest Costco finds.

My daughter wanted to go to Costco with her friend who was visiting from out of town.  We all had a good time looking at everything and we were happy to sample some food.  When we were done shopping we enjoyed lunch together.  Costco has a great deal for a hotdog and soda for $1.50.

We now go to a different Costco location which is not as crowded as the one by me and there is plenty of space for parking the car.  Yay, that is a big win for us.

HERE ARE SOME ITEMS WE BOUGHT:

Buffalo Women's Straight Leg Corduroy Pant

My daughter wanted corduroy pants for work and got them in the color black.  They were only $19.99.  If they still have them there when I go back again, I might buy them.  They come in red, black, and green.

Legendary Outfitters Women's Cable Crewneck Sweater

My daughter liked this sweater to wear for work.  This sweater is marked at only $16.99.

Bench. Men's Fleece Lined Thermal

This men's shirt was a great deal for only $14.99.  My husband will get great use out this shirt for the winter.

Vera Bradley Women's Notch Collar PJ Set

I spotted these pajamas the last time I was at Costco.  I looked at them again and picked them up.  They come in three prints and feel soft and were marked at $19.99.  The next time I'm at Costco I might pick up a pair for a Christmas present.
Hilary Radley Women’s Pull-On Pant

I saw these pants and picked them up because they are dress pants that you just slip on like leggings.  They have belt loops so you can wear a belt with a top - the pant has no zipper.  I've worn these pants a few times and love how they look and are so comfortable to wear.  The pants are only $18.99.
Danskin Women's Luxe Pant

I like these comfortable pants to wear at home.  These run a little big and I have to fold them over because they are too long on me.  They were a steal for only $12.99 and also come in the color brown.
Kirkland Signature Women's Half Zip

I saw this cute top which will be great to wear for the winter.  It feels so soft and comfortable to wear.  This top comes in three colors and was only $17.99.  I got this green color.

Kensie Women's Short Boot

I like these boots and how comfortable they feel.  They are a nice low boot and will be perfect to wear this winter.  They also come in brown and they are on sale for $21.99.  When I bought them I think they were between 25 and 29.99 dollars - (I can't remember what I paid for them).
Gourmia 8-Quart Digital Air Fryer with Window & Light

My daughter wanted a new air fryer and we picked this one up for her.  She is so excited to use it and will make all kinds of foods in this air fryer.   It's now on sale for $44.99.  We paid $59.99 for it.  The next time I go to Costco, I will bring the receipt to try and get it for the sale price.

Holiday Decorative Pillow, Christmas Tree

My daughter grabbed this cute Christmas pillow when she saw it.  Costco had a variety of cute pillows.  I looked online and these pillows are now out of stock.  *  I've learned that when you see something you like, just pick it up.  You might not be able to get that item if you go back to the store.

Besides buying the clothes, we love the food at Costco.  I like to buy the romaine lettuce, veggies, fruit, eggs, and bread.  The homemade chicken soup is good.  I like to buy the Costco brand pizza - it has 4 pizza's in the box and this is great for a weeknight meal with a salad.  I buy the paper products like tissues, napkins, and toilet paper.  I buy the cleaning products, detergent, beauty products, shampoo and conditioner.  I could go on and on about the things I buy at Costco.  LOL.

Have you bought anything from Costco lately?

November 5, 2025

Happy November, friends! 🍁🍂

I'm joining Jenn for her Currently link-up.  It's held on the first Wednesday of each month and lasts about two weeks. This month, we are sharing what we are loving, looking forward to, smelling, preparing for, and thankful for.

LOVING:  I loved that I just celebrated my 34th wedding anniversary with my husband on Monday.  We celebrated it by going out to dinner in our neighborhood.

We shared our delicious dishes of seafood paella and steak skewers.

LOOKING FORWARD TO:  I am looking forward to hosting my brother and sister-in-law and kids for Thanksgiving at my house this year.  My daughter always does a great job making a charcuterie board for our appetizer.

SMELLING:  I love smelling the fresh air on my daily walks in the neighborhood.  It's so nice to see the fall foliage and the leaves changing colors.

PREPARING FOR:  I will be preparing everything for the holidays soon.  I already starting some of my shopping for the holidays.  I plan on doing shopping in my neighborhood, in the city, and also online shopping.

THANKFUL FOR:  I'm thankful for you my blog friends.  I will be celebrating my 13th year of blogging this weekend on November 8th.  I can't believe it's 13 years I've been blogging and I'm so happy my daughter encouraged me to start a blog and help me set it up.  I'm grateful for your support and blog visits throughout the years.  I love the friendships I've made with many of you and also having the chance of meeting some of you in person.  I look forward to another year of blogging and thank you friends.  😊

Monthly Musings October 2025 - All Things Halloween

October 30, 2025

Hello friends.  Happy Halloween!

I'm joining Holly and Patty for their Monthly Musings link-up.  This month's topic is All Things Halloween.

HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:

1.  Our favorite Halloween tradition when my daughter was little was to get her dressed up in a Halloween costume and go trick-or-treating with friends and neighbors.

My daughter and Bosco dressed up for Halloween.

2.  We have always had an easy dinner on Halloween.  We like pizza, or I'd sometimes make a crockpot meal.

3.  On Halloween, we now dress up Lucy in a costume and hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters.  I love seeing all of the kids' costumes.  Last year, Lucy was dressed up like a shark.

4.  I don't paint or carve pumpkins.  I like to put out pumpkins on my stoop with mums.  The squirrels will sometimes eat the pumpkins.  :(

5.  My favorite Halloween candy is small-sized chocolate candy.

6.  I'm giving out Dots, Tootsie Rolls, and Tootsie Roll Pops.

7.  I love fun-size candy.

8.  One of my favorite costumes my daughter wore was when she was dressed up like Hana Montana - Miley Cyrus.

9.  My favorite Halloween movies are:  Hocus Pocus, Hocus Pocus 2, Disney's Haunted Mansion, and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

10.  I stop handing out candy on Halloween around 8:30/9:00pm.

HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN AND STAY SAFE!

Go To Snacks - Share Our Lives 2025

October 13, 2025

Hello friends.

It's the second Monday of the month, which means it's time for the Share Our Lives Link Up.

This months topic is Go To Snacks!

Below are some of the things I like to snack on in the morning or early afternoon.

I love snacking on yogurt with the fruit on the bottom.

I love cottage cheese and I will sometimes have it on the side of my sandwich at lunchtime.

I know Cheez It's are bad, but I love eating a handful of these if I'm hungry right before we eat dinner.  I usually have a few while I'm cooking dinner.

I enjoy snacking on Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds.

I love Dot's pretzels and we buy them at Costco.  They taste great dipped in hummus.  Roasted Pine Nut is a favorite hummus.

We will buy a large bag Skinny Pop on occasion at Costco.

Grillo's pickles are one of my favorite snacks.  We usually buy them at Costco.

I also love snacking on apples and summer fruits like cherries, peaches, and watermelon.

What is your favorite Go To Snack?
