Tips for Falling Asleep - Share Our Lives 2025

February 10, 2025

Hello friends.  I am joining Joanne from Slices of Life for the monthly link-up Share Our Lives.

This month they are discussing Tips for Falling Asleep.

Here are some tips that work for me for falling asleep:

  • I try to sleep at the same time every night unless I will be out late that evening.
  • I try not to drink coffee or caffeine after 3:00 pm.
  • I shower every night.
  • I have a beauty routine I follow every night.  I take off all of my makeup, wash my face, apply eye cream, and moisturize my face.
  • I apply chapstick and hand cream every night.
  • I listen to rain sounds or ocean waves which helps me fall asleep.

What tips do you have to fall asleep?

HERE ARE THE TOPICS FOR EACH MONTH:

  1. Wonderful ideas. Sleep has definitely become harder in midlife. I have a nighttime ritual but it’s the darn staying asleep and getting up do often to pee, lol.

  2. I apply chapstick and cream most nights too but especially in the winter.

  3. Your routine and mine are almost the same. I think taking a shower at night helps for sleep. Have a great week. Happy Valentine's Day. Hugs. Kris

  4. Sounds wonderful Julie. I think most of us have a nighttime routine. It’s been difficult to sleep lately. They are adjusting my meds. I am missing my thyroid, so I am taking something to mimic it. We shall see.

  5. I always apply a lip mask and hand cream. I wear a mouth guard so it doesn't feel right unless I have that in too. I've been using an eye mask lately and it really helps to keep the light out.

  9. I can't do bedtime showers.. then I have to dry my hair. It would just add a few extra steps to my bedtime routine.. I am already too exhausted by the time my day ends. I do love going through my skincare routine before bed though.

  10. I always seem to fall asleep quicker when it is raining out and I can hear it, I think I need to start playing sounds of it every night when I am trying to sleep.

  14. I didn't mention my bedtime routine in my post, but I do think going through the same steps of washing my face, moisturizing, etc help my mind and body get into bedtime mode. Good tips! I'm a couple days behind, but here from SOL

  15. Great tips - I do many of the same things. Cleanse and moisturize my face, lip balm and hand cream...and I have a cup of warm milk with collagen - and usually have no issue with falling asleep. It's staying asleep that is my issue - I wake up around 3 AM...wide awake. I have been trying to read until I get sleepy again. Love it when I can sleep all through the night! Thanks for a great post!

  16. I am a bath person and I absolutely have to have a bath every night, with low lights and a candle. I do apply lotion, cream for my face and lip balm.
