FIGHTING THE WINTER BLUES

I'm joining Holly for her Monthly Musing.  This month's topic is Fighting the Winter Blues.

SOME OF THE WAYS I LIKE TO FIGHT THE WINTER BLUES:

  • Curling up with a good book to read.
  • Making a cup of hot chocolate, tea, or coffee.
  • I enjoy finding a crochet project to work on during the winter months.
  • Make plans and details for a place we'd like to travel to.
  • Watch a movie or TV show.
  • Get a manicure/pedicure.
  • If the weather permits take a walk outside in my neighborhood.
  • Take an exercise class at my gym, such as yoga or Zumba.
  • Organize my house.
  • Go out to lunch with a friend.
  • Work on my blog.
  • Go shopping.
These are just a few ways I like to fight the winter blues.

How do you like to fight the winter blues?

  1. You have some great ideas. I try and keep the house cozy with candles at night. I also take walks to clear my head every day. The weather has been pretty mild. I've been getting back into reading too. I've done some organizing and plan to do more!

  2. I like all your ideas and share many of them. I love candles during the winter months. Makes the whole condo smell so great. I am trying to read some of my winter reads that have just been sitting. Have a great day today Julie. Hugs. Kris

  3. Making plans for a trip is always fun. If it's cold, I love something hot to drink and a good book. We don't have the winter blues here though. Sunny and warm today and getting outside in the sunshine always makes you feel good...year round!

  10. Julie,
Great ideas for those who get the Winter Blues...I actually love the Winter and the darker hours...I enjoy how the house looks with all the ambient lighting on , so warm and cozy...I am not a fan of Summer with the heat and the Sun so Winter is my favorite....Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  12. Wonderful tips, Julie! I don't mind winter at all...love all the seasons. After Christmas I really like the way the house looks clean and pared down. I enjoy the time to read, have a cup of coffee, a fire in the fireplace, and this is the time I like to make soups, stews, and bake up a storm. When it gets dark I light a scented candle and all my faux candles are on timers and it makes our home so cozy. Oh...and a nice afghan and a nap....bliss !

  13. Perhaps I am a little strange, but I do enjoy January so very much. It is a dull, gray month usually, but I save all my indoor projects for this time of year, and it is nice getting caught up on them. I have done some re-organizing, and some crafting, as well as having more time to visit blog friends. I find getting outside every day to walk really helps with the "blues". My dogs enjoy it too! Blessings to you!

  15. Those are some of the things I do, too, Julie. I love to turn on my gas logs at night and do love candles. Of course a warm bath always helps my body to warm up. Enjoy your week!

  17. I'm kind of cheating here, because I'm fighting the winter blues by being in Florida, lol, but my favorite way is to plan a trip for the future, or look through garden books to plan for spring, and think about what I can do differently on my deck when it's time to set it up.
