I'm joining Patty for the Monthly Musings link-up. The topic for this month is Summer 2026 Preview.
HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:
1) I went to the movies on Saturday with my husband to see The Devil Wears Prada 2. I liked the movie, and I'm glad I saw it. I don't think they had to wait so long for the second movie.
On Monday, we went to dinner with my daughter at a local pub we like. The food and atmosphere are always good.
I got a bratwurst on a pretzel bun with sauerkraut and fries. I could not finish the fries, so I took half of them home to eat for another time.
My husband got an Irish Spice Bag, which is basically chicken nuggets with fries, spices, and served with gravy.
My daughter got a buffalo chicken wrap and took half of it home to eat another time.
2) My summer job when I was younger was to babysit kids for my neighbors. It was a great way for me to make some extra money.
3) I like to eat ice cream in the summer. My favorites are mint chocolate chip and chocolate-flavored ice cream.
4) I like lettuce, tomato, cheese, and ketchup on my hamburger.
On my hot dog, I like mustard and sauerkraut.
5) I LOVE going to the beach!
6) We will be renting a house at the Jersey Shore for the summer. I'm so excited and the best part is that we will be able to bring our dog Lucy with us.
7) We don't visit any amusement parks in the summer. We used to when my daughter was little.
8) I like eating outside in the summer when it's not too hot outside. I love entertaining friends and family for BBQ's.
9) My favorite summer beverage is an iced tea or iced coffee.
10) Some of my favorite side dishes for a summer party are: corn on the cob, watermelon salad, cucumber salad, shrimp cocktail, grilled asparagus, and French fries.
BRING ON SUMMER! I can't wait to enjoy this summer!😎
Hello friends. I can't believe we're already at the end of March! It's still cold and dreary here, and I'm looking forward to the warm and sunny days of spring.
I'm joining Patty for the Monthly Musings link-up.
The topic this month is Spring Holidays and Fun.
HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:
1) No. It does NOT feel like spring here. The weather still feels cold and dreary, and we've had a lot of rainy days. I am still wearing my winter coat with a scarf, and I'm so tired of this cold weather. I can't wait for the days when I can wear a light spring coat, and it's sunny and 60 degrees out.
2) We celebrate Easter. I love these Easter decorations displayed in a local store in our neighborhood.
3) No. We do not have any trips planned for this spring. We want to try and get out and explore different areas of the city for some day trips.
4) Each year for the Easter season, it's a tradition for me to make Spaghetti Pie. I learned how to make this dish from my husband's aunt, who was from Italy. It's delicious tasting, and my family loves it.
5) We don't have any festivals planned for this spring. In the past, we've attended summer festivals in our neighborhood that are fun, and there is always a lot of good food to try.
6) One of my tips for the spring allergy season is to take allergy medicine to relieve any sneezing and a runny nose. When my allergies act up, I take a Claritin tab that works great. If it's windy outside and pollen is flying around, I like to keep my windows closed. If I'm outside and there is pollen on my clothes or hair, I like to change clothes and take a shower.
7) What makes me think "OK, it's finally spring" is when I can wear a light sweater outside and no coat. When it's a warm sunny day. When I see a lot of spring flowers in yards and gardens in my neighborhood.
8) Dislike - I do not like spring rain. I like warm and sunny days.
9) I don't have any particular spring holiday dessert. My Italian husband loves having a pastry for the feast of St. Joseph. We had these pastries from a local bakery that we love.
10) One of my favorite spring drinks is an Aperol Spritz. My daughter has turned me onto a Hugo Spritz, which is also good.

Hello friends. I hope you're staying warm and cozy after a cold and snowy week. We just survived the blizzard of 2026. I'm eager for the snow to melt and for warmer weather to arrive. BRING ON SPRING!!
The topic this month is Ways We Make Our Weeks Easier.
HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:
1. I tend to be a paper planner. I use my iphone calendar for any appointments and events I have planned for the day.
2. Yes, I do meal planning for each week. It helps me with planning our meals each week. I also use the Hello Fresh daily meal kit from time to time. I will usually pick out two meals for the week. This is an easy way to plan out my meals, and it comes with all of the ingredients to make a meal, with a recipe card included and delivered right to my door.
3. Yes, I usually lay out my clothes the night before for the next day. This is easy and saves me time, especially on the days that I go to my gym.
4. My one tip for doing laundry is that I have a basket for dark clothes and one for white clothes. I do not let the laundry basket get overflowed, and I try to do the laundry every few days. I will put the clothes away right after they are folded.
5. We do big grocery shopping at Costco and BJ's. For the little shopping that I need to do, I will go to our local grocery store. I also will shop online from time to time at Fresh Direct, which is convenient, and the groceries are delivered right to my door.
6. One of my tips for getting out the door in the morning is setting up my coffee pot the night before. When I get up in the morning, I just have to plug in the coffee pot. I make sure all of the pots and pans are put away the night before.
7. If I know I am going to be busy for the day and need an easy dinner, it's heating up a frozen pizza from Costco in the oven. We usually will have a salad on the side. I like making soup on the stove or in the crockpot.
8. We like using our Dyson vacuum cleaner on our rugs each week. I also use a Swiffer mop on our wood floors. I like to put away blankets, pillows, and remote controls the night before. I empty our dishwasher in the morning. I sometimes will set out in the afternoon what pots and pan, plates, napkins, and utensils that I will need to make dinner.
9. An easy breakfast is cereal or an English muffin with butter or cream cheese and coffee.
10. I think I've shared some good tips for staying organized and making our weeks easier.

Hello friends.
I hope you are enjoying summer as much as I am. I can't believe we are at the end of July!
I'm joining Holly and Patty for their Monthly Musings link-up. This month we are discussing - July 2025 How we Summer!
HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:
1. My favorite thing about this summer was our recent trip to Italy and England. You can read about some of my European vacation HERE.
2. We recently went to our favorite local pub for a steak dinner for two. It came with bread and a salad, and it was so good! My husband loved that he didn't have to slave over the hot grill outside.
3. We haven't seen any summer movies yet, but we want to see Superman.
What we've been streaming:
- Too Much
- Squid Game
- Dope Thief
- The Studio
4. The book I enjoyed reading this summer so far is The Wedding People by Alison Espach.
5. I think I want to hold onto summer as it's one of my favorite seasons. I love going for long walks with Lucy and going to the beach. I also love eating summer fruits such as watermelon, peaches, and cherries.
6. There really is nothing different about my summer schedule from the rest of the year.
7. One of the ways I like to take a break/relax in the summer is to be outside reading a book with an iced tea. I also enjoy gardening.
8. We like to take day trips to different places, such as visiting a museum in the city. A few years ago we visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and you can read that blog post HERE. We may also visit the Jersey Shore.
9. I have no concerts planned this summer.
10. Summer usually ends for me at the end of August. We still have beautiful weather in September, which I love. The weather is a lot cooler and not as hot as the summer months.
