Various NYX Cosmetics

July 25, 2017

Hello friends.  It's it's been a while since I did a makeup post!

I love NYX Cosmetics and there is a store in my area that I love visiting once at least once a month.  When I visit the store, I usually buy maybe one or two items at a time.

I now have a small collection of NYX Cosmetics that I'd love to share with you.

Various NYX Cosmetics

NYX Lingerie

 NYX Lingerie - Photo Above

I love this matte lip gloss so much and it goes on smooth and dries to a matte finish.  This lip gloss will last on my lips for hours (which I LOVE!).  The lip colors range in the nude family.  The price of them is normally about $7.  To see the link for these matte lip glosses, you can click HERE.

The 1st lip color - Bedtime Flirt - This is a very light tan nude color.
The 2nd lip color - Exotic - This looks like a dark peach color.

NYX HD Eye Shadow Base

NYX HD Eye Shadow Base - Photo Above

This is a nice base that glides on your eye lids smooth and then dries within a few minutes.  When you apply this base to your eye lids you only need a small amount of it, like a dot.  I like this eye shadow base but it's not my favorite.  The reason why is because I tend to have very oily eyelids and this works just ok on me.  This eye shadow base costs $7.  You can read more about this product HERE.

NYX Lip Liner

NYX Matte Lip Liner - Photo Above - This is the 1st lip liner at the top of the photo.

I used to use an Avon lip liner that I loved for years but have since changed to this lip liner.  This matte lip liner works well when applied to my lips, and it comes in many colors.  I really love that these lipliners only cost $4.  I use this lip liner before I apply any type of lipstick or lipgloss.  I always use a natural colored lip liner to go with any color lipstick or lipgloss.  Click HERE to read more about this matte lip liner.

NYX Lip Liner - Photo Above - This is the 2nd lip liner at the bottom of the photo.

I like this lip liner but it goes on very light and is almost a nude color.  It goes well with my matte NYX lip glosses.  It works well to keep my lip glosses in place without having the gloss bleed outside of my lips.

The 1st matte lip liner is the color - Soft Spoken
The 2nd lip liner is the color - Peekaboo Neutral

Have you used any NYX Cosmetics before?  I'd love to know.

I highly recommend visiting a store that sells these cosmetics.  I know you won't be disappointed! 😀

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the week and weekend.

Baked Cod Fish Recipe

July 19, 2017

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great summer.

Well, with the warmer weather here, now is the perfect time to have fish for dinner.

I love making fish for dinner during the summer months and it cooks up so fast and it's really healthy for you too.

Eating fish is an important source of omega-3 fatty acids. These essential nutrients keep our heart and brain healthy. Two omega-3 fatty acids found in fish are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Our bodies don't produce omega-3 fatty acids so we must get them through the food we eat.

Below are the cod fish filets that I added to a large pan.  Inside the pan I added lemon juice and water.

Next I added bread crumbs sprinkled on top of each cod fish fillet.

To each piece of fish I added small dabs of butter.  In the photo below, the butter is already melting on top of the fish.

This is how the fish looks when it's all done baking in the oven.

If you do not wish to make the fish in the oven, then you can grill the fish.  This will be the next way that I will try and prepare the cod fish.

You can make whatever fish you like.  Flounder is also a good fish to bake this way.

I love serving the cod fish with vegetables and rice.  We always have a big salad with our dinner too.

I usually like to serve the fish with brown rice, but I had white rice left over from chinese food that we had for dinner another night.

To reheat the rice, I just put the rice in a large dish and add water and butter to that.  I put the cover on the dish and I heat it up for a few minutes in the microwave oven.

In our house we don't like to waste food.  I even sometimes put a little bit of rice mixed in with our dog Bosco's dry dog food.  He loves that.  ðŸ˜€

I hope you like this baked cod fish recipe.  It's so good even my teen loves it for dinner.

**  If you don't feel like baking your fish than you can also grill it.  This is another easy way to make cod fish.  You just take tin foil and spray with cooking spray, and add the fish to that, wrap it up and grill for a few minutes.

Breakfast Before Shopping

July 12, 2017

Whole Foods Store

Hello friends.  I hope you are all enjoying summer and having a great week.

Have you visited Whole Foods Market yet?  Well, I love food shopping at this store, and I was recently shopping there for our 4th of July BBQ.  I just discovered that they have a breakfast buffet there that is just awesome.

We like the breakfast buffet so much, that within the past two weeks, my husband and I have had breakfast at this store and then we did our food shopping afterwards.

Below is a sample of what I had for breakfast.  I had a spinach frittata, mushroom frittata, and a few pieces of crispy bacon.

Mushroom Frittata, Spinach Frittata, and Crispy Bacon

The key is to get to the store somewhat early in the morning, so that most of the breakfast foods won't be gone, as you can see by these frittata's.

Mushroom Frittata

Spinach Frittata

Below you can see the bacon.  This bacon tastes so good and it's flat and so crispy with such a nice flavor.

Bacon

Here are more breakfast foods to choose from.  In the store they have an area with tables where you can sit and eat your food.

Sausage

Oatmeal, Potatoes and Peppers, and Rolls

You can also go to the same section in the store to sit and eat your lunch or dinner.  We have done both meals and you have to be careful with the dinner buffet as there is so much good food to choose from.

I really enjoyed our breakfast and they have the best coffee.  I've had all kinds of coffee, which I have sampled, such as a latte, regular coffee, iced coffee, and even a Cortado.

A Cortado is a hot beverage that consists of espresso coffee mixed with equal amounts of warm milk.

There is also a section that has all kinds of hot foods such as, chicken, rice, vegetables, and various soups.  Sorry I could not show you any photos of the hot lunch foods, since we were in the store early in the morning for breakfast.

The store has a huge section for assorted fruits and vegetables.

Assorted Fruits

One of my favorites is the huge selection of assorted breads.

Bread

I also love the bakery section.  They has so many different cookies to choose from.  We usually stay away from this area as we are trying to watch our diets and not eat too many sweets.

Assorted Cookies

More Cookies

I love the salad bar where you can make your own salad however you like it.

Salad Bar

Below, this is one of my favorite areas in the store, consisting of different prepared salads.  They have Caesar salad, Thai salad, and assorted pasta salads that are just amazing.

Prepared Salads and Sandwiches

There is such a huge selection of drinks to choose from.

Assorted Drinks

One of my favorite spots is the seafood section.  We bought the other day fresh marinated salmon, salmon burgers, and marinated shrimp that we grilled.  I loved the marinated shrimp and I suggest you try it out.

Fresh Fish

Whole Foods Market also has an awesome meat department.  They have all kinds of roasts, beef, pork, and steaks, etc.

We bought the hamburgers patties and hamburger sliders for our BBQ.  These hamburgers were one of the best burgers we've have ever eaten and reason being is that the meat just melts in your mouth.  The burgers had cheese and other ingredients mixed in with the meat and we ate the burgers without the bread buns.  Yum!!

Raisins, Dried Cranberries, Dates, Dried Banana

Whole Foods Market has another department that just I love but don't shop in too often in, which is the beauty section.  They have all kinds of natural soaps, moisturizers, and makeup.  I could go crazy buying and shopping in this department!!

It is such a fun place to eat and shop and I totally recommend you try it out.

**  This is NOT a sponsored post and just my opinions on eating and shopping in this store.

Have you shopped in Whole Foods Market recently and what is your favorite department?

Thanks for stopping by everyone.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the week and weekend.

Jess and I will see you all back here on Monday for our Cooking and Crafting with J & J Link Up!
