Simple Crochet Christmas Wreath Ornament

November 30, 2014

Hi friends, I have a simple crochet wreath ornament that you can make in minutes!

Here are the directions to make this easy and simple Crochet Christmas Wreath Ornament.

Crochet Christmas Wreath Ornament

Crochet Hook:  U.S. size G or H
Yarn: green yarn is by Ice Yarns in light green, gold yarn is Vanna White Vanna's Glamour by Lion Brand Yarn in the color 170 Topaz, red yarn is Red Heart Yarn

ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
hdc = half double crochet

Chain 9, sl st to make a ring.  Chain 3 and make 15 hdc in ring.  Sl st to end of top of the 3 chain. Make a loop and tie a knot to end.  Take red yarn and cut 9 inches long to make a bow and attach at the top of the wreath.

NOTE:  This wreath ornament can be made with a single crochet, or double crochet stitch.

This wreath can also be made into a pin by adding a small safety pin onto the back of the wreath.

To make this mini wreath ornament I made last year you can click HERE.

These crochet wreath ornaments are made in U.S. Terminology.

I hope I have inspired you to make some crochet wreath ornaments for Christmas.  These would also look nice attached onto a Christmas present.

Fall Walks & Thanksgiving Wishes!

November 24, 2014

I thought I would share with you some photos of Bosco and our early morning fall walks since winter will be here soon.  Once the winter comes we walk fast and are not able to take our time walking since it's so cold out.

This is Bosco dressed up in his pumpkin outfit for Halloween this year.  Bosco helped me greet the little trick or treaters.  The kids and Moms all thought he looked adorable.

I love how it looks like Bosco is kissing the bench even though he is trying to sniff it!

So many leaves have fallen off the trees now.

Bosco loves walking in the leaves and I love how still and quiet it is in the early morning.

These trees below remind me of a jungle!

We have been lucky here so far and have not had any snow yet.  We are expected a few inches of snow on Wednesday so we will see what happens.

This is Bosco with his crocheted toy wrapped around his neck.  His crazy mom did that to him last night!  You can see my shoes and the foot with the sock in the photo is me!  I made my husband take the photo!  Bosco looks so serious but I had a good laugh!

If any of you are on Instagram you can see this photo of Bosco here.  You can come visit and join me here and see some of my behind the scene photos!

I just wanted to update you all on the Christmas Crochet Sale we had at our church.  It was a huge success and a lot of my homemade items went home with happy people.  I had a good time and left late in the afternoon and rested my tired feet last night.  I think I can take it easy now from knitting and crocheting for the sale for next year.  I want to concentrate on finishing up some projects for myself.  In case you missed that post you can see it here.  The the multi colored scarf in the first photo I finished and I will be giving this for a Christmas present this year.

Thanks to all of you that left me such sweet and kind comments about my knit/crochet projects that I worked on throughout the year for the sale, I really appreciate it.

I want to thank you all for your friendship and for your kind and sweet comments throughout the year!  I appreciate your visits from each and everyone of you old and new!

Wishing You a Happy Thanksgiving!

My Knitting Works In Progress

November 17, 2014

Hi everyone, now that the weather is getting cold outside I thought I would share with you a few scarves that I'm in the process of knitting and trying to get done!  I have been knitting these for a long time and I always seem to put one of them aside and not work on it.  The reason is I'm always crocheting or knitting for our Christmas crochet sale that we have at our church each year.

These are my scarves that I'm in the process of knitting!

The scarf below is the drop stitch and to see how to knit this you can click HERE.

Some of you may recognize this purple yarn, it's yarn I received from Stephanie's tea mug exchange I was involved in.  If you missed that post you can see it HERE.

The scarf below is called the seed stitch and to see how to knit this you can click HERE.  I plan on making this into an infinity scarf.

My goal is to try and work on these scarves and have them each completed by 2015!  Wish me luck!

Do you have any unfinished projects that you would like to have finished soon too?

Thanksgiving Chalkboard Art

November 13, 2014

Hi friends, I have this Thanksgiving Chalkboard Art sign I made and displayed on my mantel that is so easy to make for any holiday.

You can see the sign I decorated on my mantel with my pilgrim statues.  I also have my crocheted pumpkins I made too.  In case you still want to make and crochet the pumpkins you can see the post HERE.  To go directly to the pattern for the crochet pumpkins you can go HERE.

I bought the pilgrim statues many years ago when I worked in New York City.

I also have displayed little plastic pumpkins and they too are from a dollar store along with the leaves.

CHALKBOARD ART

To make the chalk board art you need:

1 art canvas - any size
1 can Krylon chalkboard paint - color 807 Black
newspaper to lay on floor
chalk

Directions:

Take newspaper and lay on the floor (so that you don't make a mess).  Take your canvas and spray paint it 2 to 3 times.  Next let the canvas dry throughly.  When dry you are ready to make your chalkboard art.

I hope I have inspired you to make one too!

What Book am I Reading?

November 10, 2014

Hi friends, I'm in the middle of reading a book by Debbie Macomber.  The book is called
Rose Harbor in Bloom!

This is the second book in the series.  When I was shopping a few weeks ago I picked up this book at BJ's not realizing that it's the second book in the series but you can still read and follow along as it does not really make a difference.

I'm really enjoying the book and it's a light and easy read.  I usually enjoy reading at night for a little while before bed.

This book is about a woman who owns a bed and breakfast and it's basically about the guests who come and stay at her inn.

To read more about this book you can click HERE.

I will be sharing this post with Chantelle from the blog Mama Mummy Mum who has a book series each week called Read With Me every Monday.

On a Book Roll!

November 3, 2014

Hi friends, I hope you all had a Happy Halloween.  I gave a out so much candy and I enjoyed looking at all the little kids in their cute costumes.  I even dressed up my dog Bosco as a pumpkin. I was so good, I only ate 3 pieces of candy!

I am on a book roll right now and I finished reading this book And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie a while back.  I really loved this book and it was recommended to me by daughter.  My daughter had to read this book for school so I decided to give it a try.

I'm really glad I decided to read this book and it's a fast moving mystery and it will keep you guessing.  If you like to read mystery books then I recommend you read this.

I was so excited to read another book by Agatha Christie and decided to go to our local library to find another one.  I was disappointed when they did not have any of her books.  So I picked up this book called A Stitch Before Dying by Anne Canadeo.

I have managed to read this book and I really loved it.  It's a mystery about a group of women that belong to a knitting group and they all go away for the weekend.  One of the ladies in the group is giving knitting lessons at the inn where they are staying and there happens to be a murder.   It gets really interesting from there and I could not put the book down.  What I liked about this book is that it is the third book in a series and there are a few recipes at the end of the book to try.

If you like mysteries then I would suggest this book and I'm looking forward to reading more books from this Black Sheep Knitting Mystery Series.

I will be sharing with you soon the book that I am currently reading.  Are you reading any good books right now?

I will be sharing this post with Chantelle from the blog Mama Mummy Mum who has a book series each week called Read With Me every Monday.
