Wordless Wednesday - Old Fashioned Record Player

May 7, 2014

Over the weekend I went shopping at Urban Outfitters with my daughter and they had an old fashioned record player and records to buy.  It was so strange to see but it made us both smile and it was such a throwback for me.

Do you remember record players and records?

Thanks everyone and Enjoy!

  2. We used to listen to Mom's old records when i was in my early teens. She had a lot of fifties music. I remember it made housework so much funner.

I wanted to let you know that you won my giveaway. If you could please email me your mailing information I will get your package out to you.

  4. Yep and a couple of years ago, I bought a record player after realizing I had kept all my records. I got 45's, 78's and a lot of cool stuff.

Very cool that you are teaching the kids the good old ways.

  6. I remember! I loved my albums...I kind of miss shopping for vinyl and looking at the album covers. Somehow an iTunes spree just doesn't feel the same!

  7. Ah, record players. Haven't thought about those for years. We had scores of records; music was always playing in our house. And I had dozens of little books on records, too.

  10. oh wow! I have old 45s that I have been collecting -- but I can never find a record player!!! amazing. I check our antique stores all the time and can never find one. I've seen a great big full stereo record player - but not these smaller portable ones.

  14. I used to love my record player. I finally let go of all of my vinyl though, it was just sitting around in the garage not getting used. Hopefully they've gone to a good home (I donated to Goodwill) where they're being used. :)

  16. I love that record player.. it is so cool. The house that we bought is equipped with a record player that is placed in the wall (wired).. I have only opened it to take pictures... as we have no records anymore. Brings back memories. Thank you so much for joining my Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ so fun to have you and I hope you will join me again... Love seeing you there.

  19. Hello Julie
This comment may come through twice - sorry, if it does just delete one please!

I haven't seen an Avon lady in our neighbourhood for years - I loved looking through their catalogue.
The crayon is something I would buy - a good basic colour.
Makeup is such a rip off with the prices, when I remember I order through an online store in Asia somewhere - all top brands and much cheaper. Let me know if you would like the link!

Wishing you a happy week - the middle of May can you believe it!
    Hugs
    Shane

  21. That is a really cute record player! I actually have quite a few records, but we got rid of our record player when we moved the New York. I may have to stop by UO and pick one up;)
