Over the weekend I went shopping at Urban Outfitters with my daughter and they had an old fashioned record player and records to buy. It was so strange to see but it made us both smile and it was such a throwback for me.
Do you remember record players and records?
Thanks everyone and Enjoy!
Julie
We played records every afternoon after school. Sometimes we would take the record player outside and dance on the lawn! lol Let's TWIST! heehee! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWe used to listen to Mom's old records when i was in my early teens. She had a lot of fifties music. I remember it made housework so much funner.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know that you won my giveaway. If you could please email me your mailing information I will get your package out to you.

Omg I had not thought of my record player for years, but I too played for hours ad hours. Those little 45's. Thanks for stopping by Oh My Heartsie Girl this week!!
ReplyDeleteYep and a couple of years ago, I bought a record player after realizing I had kept all my records. I got 45's, 78's and a lot of cool stuff.
ReplyDeleteVery cool that you are teaching the kids the good old ways.
I just saw one at an ice cream shop!
ReplyDeleteI remember! I loved my albums...I kind of miss shopping for vinyl and looking at the album covers. Somehow an iTunes spree just doesn't feel the same!
ReplyDeleteAh, record players. Haven't thought about those for years. We had scores of records; music was always playing in our house. And I had dozens of little books on records, too.
ReplyDeleteI remember those, the smell of the record player along with the smell and feel of the vinyl. Happy days! xx
ReplyDeleteoh yes. i still have a few, but nothing to play them on. LOL

oh wow! I have old 45s that I have been collecting -- but I can never find a record player!!! amazing. I check our antique stores all the time and can never find one. I've seen a great big full stereo record player - but not these smaller portable ones.
ReplyDeleteThat record player is super cool! My mama and daddy still have tons of old record player and actually listen to them. I love it! Have a blessed Wednesday evening!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Vicky
Not only do I remember them, but I have one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Julie and yes, we did move to the cabin a couple of weeks ago. We had a rough time (theft) but we are recouping.
We still have our old "vinyl" records, and the record player to go with them! Fun!
ReplyDeleteI used to love my record player. I finally let go of all of my vinyl though, it was just sitting around in the garage not getting used. Hopefully they've gone to a good home (I donated to Goodwill) where they're being used. :)
ReplyDeleteI always played my record player in my room or in the basement & in fact I still have my 45's but no record player & we still have albums. Hmmm I think I may be on the hunt for a record player. hehehe Thanks for the idea. Hugs & thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteI love that record player.. it is so cool. The house that we bought is equipped with a record player that is placed in the wall (wired).. I have only opened it to take pictures... as we have no records anymore. Brings back memories. Thank you so much for joining my Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ so fun to have you and I hope you will join me again... Love seeing you there.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie,
ReplyDeleteYes, I do! I used to play my records over and over again. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog, and I hope you have a lovely weekend,
Lin
I still have a turntable and I also have that Elvis Album.... it was my sisters!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by! It will be fun to watch the baby birds once they hatch.
Happy Mother's Day to you, Julie!!
Hugs,
Deb
Hello Julie
ReplyDeleteThis comment may come through twice - sorry, if it does just delete one please!
I haven't seen an Avon lady in our neighbourhood for years - I loved looking through their catalogue.
The crayon is something I would buy - a good basic colour.
Makeup is such a rip off with the prices, when I remember I order through an online store in Asia somewhere - all top brands and much cheaper. Let me know if you would like the link!
Wishing you a happy week - the middle of May can you believe it!
Hugs
Shane
Oh boy, do I ever remember those old record players and vinyls! What memories this brings back! Sorry to make my WW rounds so late, but that's the way things goes sometimes. lol Have a good day. Join the WW linky party tonight at 7pm! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a really cute record player! I actually have quite a few records, but we got rid of our record player when we moved the New York. I may have to stop by UO and pick one up;)
