Crochet Coaster with Fall Yarn

September 17, 2015

Hi friends, I love crocheting coasters and I found a really nice pattern to make at Oliva's blog called, Oliva's Creative Quest.  If you would like to make your own coasters, you can find the pattern HERE.

Shown below is the version of the coaster I made using fall colored yarn.

Here is what I used to make the coaster:

Crochet Hook:  US size H.
Yarn:  Bernat, Handicrafter Cotton, Harvest Home Collection in the color Harvest.

Please take a minute to visit Oliva's awesome blog HERE.  Thanks Oliva for sharing this really cute pattern to make coasters.  I'm having fun crocheting them with your pattern.

I hope I have inspired you to make some coasters too.  I'm looking forward to making these for gifts for the holidays.  I also made some to donate to our annual crochet sale we have at my church.

Wordless Wednesday - Park Benches

September 16, 2015

One morning recently, while I was walking my dog Bosco, I took this photo of these trees and park benches.

This second picture is the same photo, but I used the Waterlogue App to get this watercolor effect.  I think this would make a pretty card.

Coloring Books for Teens & Adults

September 10, 2015

Hi friends.  Have you seen these coloring books yet?  Well they are all the rage right now, and they are so much fun to color.  They have exciting designs on every page and different themes to choose from.  You can use crayons or colored pencils to color in the pages and they are a great way to relieve stress, and perfect for teens and adults.  This is a way to bring out your imagination, creativeness, and get lost in coloring for hours.

I bought a few of these online from Amazon and they are also sold in bookstores such as Barnes & Noble, and at Costco.  There are so some many different design books to choose from such as flowers, mandalas, animals, etc.  I spent some time coloring a page with colored pencils and I really enjoyed it, as I haven't colored in a long time.

If you think you might like coloring, than I would recommend these coloring books.  These also make great gifts for birthday's or for the holiday's.  I just bought my niece last weekend, for her birthday, one of these books and a big set of crayons and markers to go with it.  My niece seemed excited to try it out and I hope she has fun.

Have you tried out these coloring books yet?

I also downloaded an app on my iPad for coloring called Colorfy that was recommended by my blog buddy Jess from Plucky's Second Thought.  This is a fun way to color too but you have to get used to using it.  You can color some awesome pictures this way.

Crochet Sunglass/Eyeglass Case

September 3, 2015

Hi friends, it has been so hot here this summer and I have been busy and just too hot to crochet.  Instead I have been working on small projects and I made another sunglass case but this time using cotton yarn.

I had so much fun crocheting the sunglass case that I made back in July, and incase you missed that  post on the other sunglass case I made, you can click HERE to see it.

You can also use this for your sunglasses or eyeglasses.  I really enjoyed making this project and it can be made in just a few hours.

The yarn I used is Lion Brand Yarn, Kitchen Cotton, in the color 147 Grape.  The crochet hook I used was US size H or I.  For the pattern to make your own sunglass case, you can click HERE.

Incase you did not know, I will also be donating this to our church's holiday crochet sale that we have each year in the fall.  I hope I have inspired you to make one too.  These also make great gifts and you can make them in many different colors.
