Welcome back to Part 2 of my Niagara Falls, New York vacation.  If this is your first time visiting this post about my Niagara Falls trip, then you can to read all about the start of our vacation Part 1.

We arrived at Niagara Falls in the early evening after a long train ride from New York City.  The Amtrak train - Maple Leaf - took us about 10 hours due to some train troubles.  The train should of taken about 8 1/2 hours without delays, but it was worth it.

We were able to see pretty views along the way and we did not have to worry about driving our car.  I liked that we could relax and be able to read, walk around, there were restrooms, and also available were various drinks and snacks to purchase, and free wifi.

To read more about Niagara Falls you can click the link HERE.  We had dinner and then decided to take a short walk from the restaurant to the Falls.

Below you can see it was getting dark.  Across the falls you can see the Skyline Tower, which is an observation tower, all lit up in green because it was St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2017.

I really love the way the falls looked all lit up in red.  Below the falls there was a boat that had a huge light that showed up a red color that lit up the falls.  It made the water falls look so pretty.



That night when we arrived back at our hotel room after our walk to the falls, we saw an awesome fire works display right outside our hotel window.  The show lasted for about 25 minutes and it was so nice to watch and see the fire works light up the sky.

The next morning we could see that it was snowing out and this was our view outside our hotel room, Wingate by Wyndham.

You can see one of Niagara Falls oldest churches, called St. Mary of the Cataract, and you can see the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in the distance.


Another view below looking outside our hotel window to the left.  That large building was also where we walked for our awesome St. Patrick's Day dinner at the Third Street Retreat Eatery and Pub.  We had an awesome dinner and green beer to celebrate the occassion.


After we had our breakfast in the lobby, and we were happy that it was included in our stay, we took a 15 minute walk down to the falls.

The view was not too clear due to the snow that was falling, but it still looked beautiful.  If you look right across the falls you can see the clouds covering part of the Skylon Tower.


Below is the view looking across the falls into Canada.


Even though parts of the falls were covered in snow it looked so beautiful.  I thought that we were going to get soaked from the water but we were lucky that it wasn't windy out.


The weather was cold but we were bundled up.  It was kind of nice to be sightseeing during off season and not be hot and sweating in the summertime.

We had plenty of room to go right up to the rails and look at the falls without large crowds blocking our view.
