Hello friends and happy new year friends!
I'm joining Amy from the blog, Coffee and Cocktails at the Casa, for her Currently link-up. It's held on the first Wednesday of each month. This month we are sharing what we are loving, resolving, planning, eating/drinking, and watching/reading.
LOVING: I loved the holidays and spending Christmas with family. I enjoyed getting together with friends for their annual holiday party. It was fun going out to lunch with my friends and having dinner out with my husband and daughter to celebrate my birthday. We had a quiet New Year's Eve at home. My husband and I had take-out Chinese food and then we watched the ball drop on TV. Now that the holidays are over, I'm looking forward to getting the house organized and putting away our Christmas decorations.
RESOLVING: I'm resolving to eat healthier now that the holidays are over. I want to eat fewer sweets, as I ate a lot of cookies and cake over the holidays.
PLANNING: I'm planning on getting back to a regular routine at my gym. I started the new year off by going to the gym on New Year's day! I'm in the second row to the right.
EATING/DRINKING: I want to eat healthier and try not to eat unhealthy snacks. I am trying to drink more protein shakes in the morning for breakfast. I'll be making soup and more protein meals for dinner.
WATCHING/READING: I put reading books on hold for December. I want to get back into reading more books each month now that the holidays are over.
What I've been watching and seen lately:
- Jay Kelly
- Man on the Inside
- Emily in Paris
- Only Murders in the Building
- The Studio
- Severence
- Pluribus
- Stranger Things
- Loot
On New Year's day we went to the movies to see The Housemaid. I enjoyed this thriller and I also read the book by Freida McFadden.
What have you been up to, and what's currently new with you?
Julie

Belated birthday greetings. I hear you on too many cookies over the holiday -- same here. Back on the wagon! We had a quiet New Year's too, thankfully. Christmas was fun but chaotic! Let's hear it for soups in the winter. I love them!
ReplyDeleteI think we all have to detox from all the rich foods over the holidays. Good luck with your journey to being healthier. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect way to kick off a new year at a gym with a fabulous class!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with me! Good job getting to the gym on Jan. 1! Wow! It took me until Jan. 5 but still calling it a win. I have started eating better and guess what - I'm sleeping better, too! Hallelujah! Why do I not do what is good for me? I fall into more of a tv trap in the winter but reading makes me feel so much better than staring at a screen.
ReplyDeleteI might have already said it - but Happy Birthday. That's incredible that you went to the gym on the 1st. I think we are all ready for healthier food options.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday wishes, Julie! I spotted you on the gym picture. I love going to the gym on a daily basis and taking classes there. We all need to eat healthier, that’s for sure. I love soups in the winter and made ham and bean soup today. Good luck with all your goals.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good plan for the coming month/year! I'm glad you had a nice holiday and good times with your friends and family as well as a nice birthday! Your New Year's sounded great too. We went out for an early dinner and watched some Stranger Things. We just started Pluribus tonight. I hope you're having a great week!
