This or That - Self-Care Edition

Hello friends.  I thought it would be fun to do a This or That - Self-Care Edition.




Here are my answers.



1.  Reading a book or listening to music - I love reading a book.

2.  Going to bed early or sleeping in late - During the week I go to bed at 10:00 pm.  On the weekends I like to sleep in a little later then during the week.

3.  Mindful walking or doing yoga - I like both.  I like going to the gym two times a week to do yoga.  In the spring and summer I like to go for walks.

4.  Shower or bubble bath - I like taking a shower.

5.  Meditating or Journaling - I will say meditating.  In the beginning and end of each yoga class we have a few minutes to meditate.

6.  Watching a sunrise or watching a sunset - I love watching a sunset.

  1. Sounds like a great way to take care of yourself. I like reading a book now and then and also enjoy music. I do a lot of walking around our property, no yoga. We usually go to bed early, however I sit up in bed to watch tv. Showers are my thing, except for a cold winter night, bubble baths are nice. I like to think of my blog as journaling. I love sunrises as well as sunsets. Fun to play along Julie, enjoy the rest of your week.

  2. Good morning Julie. I am a very active person but on occasion love to sit still and read a book. Calms the mind. I am a shower girl. I usually journal because my mind races while I am trying to meditate lol!

  3. Golly, I would love to do that, lately---it's been take two antehistimines in the morning, don't forget the magnesium pill (cramps) and try and get my blog posts posted and others read! SIGH! In between, garden, clean, purge, and move stuff around. SOMEDAY...ha! Sandi

  5. My answers are: reading a book, go to bed early, walks, bath (but no bubbles), reading my Bible for quiet time and sunset. A great topic for a post!

  6. My answers are pretty much the same as yours; but I would have a real hard time deciding between yoga and a nature walk or even the sunrise/sunset!

    Great post..After years of taking care of people for a living as I was an RN who stayed in direct patient care, I learned that I also needed to take care of myself before I could take care of others...In retirement, self care has become one of my priorities....Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  9. Oh this is fun! Ok, so I'm generally a music, sleep late, walking, shower, meditating, sunset kind of girl. However, I also enjoy everything on the other side of the list. I just know I'd like to do more of all of them!

  10. This is such a fun post! I love to listen to music, sleep late, shower, journal, watch a sunset and practice yoga. I am a true believer that self-care is crucial to our well-being. If only I realized this in my younger years.

  13. I take care of myself and enjoy my life. I read a lot and walk in nature...as you know! Bubble baths and lots of lotion and healthy food and drinks. I like a nice glass of wine with a good meal and love to watch the sunsets here. Fun answers. I never enjoyed yoga but maybe one of these days!

  16. Hi Julie...fun post ! I like reading a book ( lots of books!), going to bed early (if I am not trying to finish a book) , long walks ( usually listening to a book...sensing a pattern here?), I love a bubble bath - with a tub tray, a glass of ice water, soft music in the background, and...a book!, I try to journal, but I go days without writing and then try to catch up...and I love a sunrise and sunset. We have a rooftop deck on our building with lovely seating and firepits...our neighbors meet up there for happy hour and we see great sunsets. Thanks for this post...hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
