Beauty Products I'm Loving

January 19, 2022

Hello friends, it's been a while since I've done a beauty post.  I have some beauty products that I'd love to share with you.

Tarte SEA Drink of H20 Hydrating Boost Moisturizer
I did some holiday shopping at Sephora and I received a sample of this Tarte Cream.  I've been using this cream on my face in the morning.  It's a lightweight cream that has a light scent.  This sample will be perfect to pack for when I travel.

OPI Impress Color Press-On Manicure
I did a blog post back in the fall about press-on nails after learning about them from Kim.  I bought these online at Ulta and I like how easy they are to apply and wear.  The nails were about $10 a set.

Here are some examples of how I look with the press-on nails.  It takes a while to get used to wearing them but they last about a week.  They take about a half-hour to apply.  I took Kim's advice and I usually do them in the evening.

I bought this set of nails at my local Walgreens store.  I got a compliment on my nails when I went for a doctor's appointment.

I ordered this set of nails from Amazon and they were only $7.

Essence Lash Princess Curl Mascara
I had to try out this mascara after hearing about it from a friend and from Ann at Our New Vista.  I ordered this mascara from Amazon and it was only $5.  It works great and you can't beat the price.  This mascara is also available at Ulta.

Garnier Whole Blends Shampoo Bar
I decided to try out this shampoo bar after seeing an ad for it on Instagram.  I thought this was a great idea and I like that the shampoo is in a bar and not in a plastic bottle.  I bought one for my husband's Christmas stocking and these shampoo bars are from Amazon.

Amika Hair Products
My daughter gifted me items for Christmas with a sample set for my hair at the Sephora store.  My hairstylist uses Amika mouse on my hair, so I was excited to try out some more of those hair products.
I tried this Amika bust your brass cool blonde shampoo and I like it.  You use this purple shampoo when your blonde hair starts to look brassy.
This Amika bust your brass conditioner works just as well for brassy hair.
I love how this Amika perk up dry shampoo works.  There is no smell and it works great if you don't want to wash your hair every day.

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Full Form Soft Mousse
I'm excited to use this mousse after receiving it for Christmas from my daughter.  I have thin and fine hair.  I'm hoping this mousse works on making my hair look fuller.  I love trying out new beauty products.
Sexy Hair Big Fun Raiser
I did a blog post about some sample products I received from Ulta.  This dry spray works great in volumizing your hair.  This is a great sample product to use when traveling.
The Ordinary
This Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil is perfect to use at bedtime and another Christmas gift from my daughter.  This is a thick oil that soaks right into the skin.  This will be great to use this winter.
Pure Botanicals Concentrated Eye Serum
This is another product my daughter bought for me for Christmas.  This is a new product and I use this eye serum before bed.
NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment
I picked this up at the Sephora store for my SIL for Christmas and one for myself.  The shade I bought for myself is called American Woman.  I love how this matte lip pigment stays on my lips for hours and won't budge.
Thayers Witch Hazel
This is another product that is new to me and I love using this on my face.  This is another beauty gift from my daughter for Christmas.  I like to spray this witch hazel mist on my face before I apply my cream and makeup in the morning.

I love trying out new beauty products and these are a few of my favorites.  Have you tried any of these beauty products?

  1. Wow so many goodies! My daughter just got the Amika detangler and likes it. I use the oil from The Ordinary. I haven't seen or tried that particular version of the mascara but I've tried the blue and the green ones. I've been using the last mascara you recommended and I really like it! I haven't seen that witch hazel in a spray--great idea! I love all of your nail looks! Thanks for sharing!

  3. These posts are always fun, Julie! I, too, tried the nails, and I loved how they looked, and that they stayed perfect for the week. Mine just felt a little too long, so I'll have to file shorter next time. I did buy another pair, because they are great in a pinch when there's no time for a manicure. I'm going to look for lip pigment and and witch hazel. The shampoo bars would be perfect for traveling.

  4. When I tripped and fell on my face a few years ago, I use the Rose hip oil and it really did wonders for the scrapes on my face....healed up beautifully. I need some beauty products. I haven't been using anything lately except my mineral make up. I need some nice creams and lotions. Thanks for your reviews!

  5. I love all the products you reviewed here. It is always fun to see what someone else is using---and loving. I am a fan of the N07 products and have been pretty much using them. I get some 'freebies' from my grandgirls that they don't like. lol
Have a great Wednesday! xo Diana

  7. I use that mascara, but with the green writing on it. Not sure of the difference. I want to try the Ordinary oil. I love the alpha peel. Thanks for the recommendations.

  8. I have terrible skin sensitivities and have to be so careful but I do use Thayers Cucumber Toner before bed and love it. I've never tried their facial mist so that's been added to my must try list, along with the OPI nails and the NARS lip pigment.

  10. You've tried a lot of great products! I just started using the Amika Normcore shampoo and conditioner and so far I like it. I always see that mascara advertised but haven't tried it yet. I didn't realize it was only $5, I'll have to give it a try!

  11. So glad you like the nails, Julie! Aren't they fun? My friend Ann recently introduced me to Lily and Fox nail wraps. They're like $2.99 + free shipping for each sheet. I haven't tried them yet, I'm waiting for my order, but they look great. Have you heard of them or tried them? I also bought that mascara, the green formula, at Christmas for stocking stuffers. I haven't tried it yet, but my girls love it!
